We traveled to Colorado for our son's wedding and chose this hotel because of the reviews on the Choice hotels website. It did not disappoint. Overall the room was nice, the bed was comfortable, the pool was great (according to our granddaughter). The sofabed was ok (also according to our granddaughter). The internet was slow; my wife's laptop kept disconnecting. A big minus was the design of the bathroom. Our room had just a shower, which in itself was nice, but there wasn't anyplace to hang up the towels.

I have stayed at this hotel prior to Covid and it was always fine. Most recent trip, 3/24/2021, this hotel has obviously declined! Poorly stocked shop by the reception area, in room 334 there was no laundry bag, no washcloths, broken bathtub plug, just overall not well maintained. The front desk clerk at check in was very polite and welcoming, but that's about the only good thing from this experience.

On the 1/30 I called the reservations department to book a large room for 2 adults and 6 children. She said that due to fire code regulations, we would have to book two rooms. I could understand that but asked for adjoining rooms. She said absolutely and would add notes to the reservation. On 2/5 I called the reservation line to confirm the adjoining rooms and she reassured me that we had two adjoining rooms. On 2/6 my sister in law checked in with six 8 year old girls in tow. We were celebrating my niece’s birthday! She said they were supposed to have adjoining rooms and the lady found the note in the reservation. She asked her manager to come over and he said absolutely not. Those rooms have to be booked months in advance. The lady apologized but said she had two rooms next to each other and recommended we keep the doors open to monitor and move in between. I met them in the lobby and she told me what they said. I told her I would check in and see if there was any other solution. The idea of having six little girls in a room alone and two women alone with their doors open did not sound safe. Plus, I’m sure that other guests didn’t want to hear us in our rooms and going back and forth. I checked in at the front desk and tried to explain the situation. I told him we were supposed to have two rooms that were adjoining. He told me that all adjoining rooms were for the handicapped. I told him we didn’t mind handicapped accessible rooms. He then told me, “Like I said, these rooms are for the HANDICAPPED! Plus, they are all booked up!” I asked why I was promised these rooms if they were already reserved. He asked me who promised me the rooms and I told him I spoke to two different ladies in reservations and they added notes to our reservation. He looked up the notes and without ever making eye contact with me, he rolls his eyes and says, “Well that’s where YOU messed up! If you have a special request, you have to call the hotel directly! And, that was a request and not a guarantee.” Wow! Okay, I then tell him I don’t feel like having our doors open and going between rooms is safe and will probably be an annoyance to the other guests. And that I also don’t understand the discrepancy between booking a room through the reservation department rather than directly through the hotel. Another couple next to me checking in chimed in and said, “yeah, we don’t want a room next to all that.” I knew this wasn’t going to get resolved, so I told him to forget it and I would contact corporate and explain the booking discrepancy between the reservation department and the actual hotel. This is when he lost it. He told me he was the manager and he wanted to know if there was going to be a problem. I told him there wasn’t going to be a problem. Then he starts yelling at me that I already said there was going to be a problem by not having adjoining rooms and having the girls have open doors and going in between. Before I could even explain that the lady standing next to him was the one that told us to do that, he told me to leave and was cancelling my reservation. I was so taken aback and offended, I told him fine and turned to leave. Then he yells, “and tell your sister in law and all those girls to come back here because they are kicked out too!” I called my sister in law and told her what happened. She couldn’t believe it. Neither could I! I told her not to worry and I would find us a couple rooms while she went and talked to the manager. As she was in line waiting, I texted her and that I found two adjoining rooms nearby. She told the manager she was there to checkout and he said that was fine but wouldn’t be refunding her money. She asked why and he said, “because your sister is the rudest person in the world and doesn’t respect COVID. And people that don’t respect COVID should be treated rudely and aren’t welcomed here!” She was very confused about the COVID comment because I didn’t mention anything about him accusing me off violating COVID restriction (because there was never a mention of me violating COVID restrictions!) so she asked if I could please check into the other room and he said absolutely not. She called me back and said he wasn’t refunding her room if she left. Plus, her daughter and her friends were super excited about the slide at the pool. I told her I would leave and to just have a fun time. Now, as I write this letter, I’m hoping my reservation was refunded! I’ll look into that later. More importantly, the manager knew that now there was going to be 7 people in one room. Just another example of the discrepancy between the reservation department and the actual hotel. I’m just really surprised that the hotel manager doesn’t care about fire code violations.

STAY AT THIS HOTEL, especially if you have a family. Our basketball team had to be in the Loveland area 2 weekends in a row. The first weekend we stayed at the Hampton Inn and it was a horrible experience. This last weekend we stayed at the Comfort Suites next to Scheels and we cannot say enough good things. Staff was extremely easy to work with when booking and very pleasant during the stay. Their pool was great for our High School aged basketball team and they had a little kids section as well. My husband and I have already decided we will come back to Loveland with our family for vacation and we will be staying at the Comfort Suites. When I called to thank them for their hospitality, they were extremely grateful. If you want good customer service, nice clean rooms and a great family friendly pool, stay here!!

We chose to stay here while our house was being worked on because of the pool. This is seriously the best pool for kids and adults. The hot tub outside was amazing to relax in and the inside pool area kept my 5-year-old entertained and loving it. The 3 story slide is awesome! We were extremely impressed with the customer service that we received. Gavin, Jessica and Bri to name a few were really incredible at the front desk. They were so friendly learned our daughter's name and helped us out with any of our requests with a positive attitude. We stayed here for 2 weeks so we had plenty of interactions with everyone that works there. I needed a ADA accessible room and it was perfect! The room and bathroom was spacious and we had two connecting rooms which we loved. Loved the set up of the room with the pull out couch is actually comfortable!! The location was perfect as we could walk to many restaurants and stores with plenty of options. Super impressed with Comfort Suites all the way around!!
