We booked the Hyatt for part of the President’s day weekend because of its location, a five minute walk to the lifts. The hotel is a mixed bag. The room is quiet and comfortable with a great bed, but no hooks for hanging or any drawers for storing clothes. The restaurant has a minimal menu and the breakfasts are very basic, but the bar barely has the basics for making drinks. The bar tender is funny, helpful and informative but the available bottles are woefully inadequate. There is free valet parking but when we checked in no one told us there were ski lockers available. Staff is courteous and helpful but often gives incorrect information or can’t answer questions. Our experience has been a mixed bag but based on the very reasonable prices, we went in with low expectations. Family and pet friendly but certainly not high end.

First time staying in Keystone, property is close to ski lift and there are red wagons to transport your ski gear to and from the lift. over night ski storage and the lift. Overall, after we figured out the best method for transporting/storing ski gear - location is great.

We were upgraded to a suite with two seperate bath rooms - worked out great! Only downside was limited lunch and dinner menu and delivery. Also, no microwaves in the rooms...

However, overall we enjoyed our stay and we'd go back again...

I chose to use a hotel for this trip because I figured it was easier to cancel a reservation with a hotel than a vacation rental. I think it is always better to have a condo with a kitchen and living room for snowboard vacations. This hotel is just okay--it is definitely clean and well kept, but services weren't as good as other hotels of this tier. The front desk staff did not tell us that we were required to "order" our complimentary breakfast every day by 9P or we would get no breakfast the next morning. I only found this out inadvertently. Also parking is minimal, and while they will valet your car for "free" if the parking lot is full, note that on the day you check out, you must move your car off the premises by 1P. Usually hotels will let you keep your car there all day. There are room refrigerators, but only one microwave in the whole hotel. That is nuts. You had to request it and they would roll it up to your room and you had to plug it in and use it and return it Most hotels of this tier offer a microwave in each room. Even if the hotel did not want to do this, they could put a microwave on each floor for the guests to use when they needed, instead of having to go through all this trouble. My digital key never worked, and there is no way to check out digitally. I usually use Hiltons or Marriotts and only picked this Hyatt bc it was the only one there in Keystone. I was not impressed enough with my stay to put Hyatt above the other 2 brands that I prefer.

The worst expensive experience ever at Hyatt Place, to start the day you get a horrible breakfast with not even clean dishes or enough forks to get by, people will be fighting for food since the poor quality buffet is never replenish quickly enough for all the guest. The cleaning room crew won't leave soap for the shower, will need to go to the lobby every morning to get soap, the service in general is the worst of any Hyatt I have ever stayed. Would definitely not recommend this over priced Hyatt Placed at Keystone, they take advantage of the few options at this location, not worth the stay.

As frequent travelers, we’ve stayed at many Hyatt Place locations over the years due to extensive travel for work and pleasure. We've liked the price, we have young children, always clean and modern with great breakfast and amenities. As new season pass holders to Keystone, we were happy to see a Hyatt Place near the slopes.

This was not a typical Hyatt Place stay!!

When the recent storm began to close roads, The HPK staff was unable to change our reservation. I stated I did not want a refund, just a date with better weather. The front desk agent advised I leave a VM for the manager which was Friday. I received a return call from that manager 4 days later on Tuesday. I also called the main Hyatt number and after holding for approx 10 min the line went dead. So at risk of losing $500+, my family loaded up and hit the icy snow packed road. Once checked in we were told to park anywhere in the back of the building. There are approx 25 spaces for 100+ rooms? So we went back in and told they would park our car for us. No mention of the daily rate that we had to argue out of at checkout. The car was valet parked across the street somewhere and had to give min. 30 min notice to get it? 45 min to get car at checkout after they couldn’t find our keys.
On day two we tried to use the shuttle schedule we were given at check in (since the car takes so long to get) but the schedule changed within the 24 hrs since our arrival and therefore missed the shuttle, sacrificing dinner reservations and evening plans with no time for a plan B.
Breakfast is advertised as all natural locally sourced ingredients however I recall eating powdered eggs and my son ate microwaved hardened pancakes. And the empty Tabasco bottle I asked to be replaced couldn't be replaced as there was no backup. That evening I wanted to order from the hotel menu. No menus in the room. Called the front desk, told I had to come downstairs to order, and return when food is ready. Food was decent although is it unfair to expect ATLEAST a menu in the room.
Overall impression: The hotel experience was terrible considering what we paid and supposedly at a discount. Understand this is a resort town. We are willing to pay $200+/night... but we should be able to expect a $200+/night experience. What we felt we got was a $39.99/night roadside motel experience. As much as we have enjoyed Hyatt Places around the country, we'd have to be awfully desperate to stay at HP-Keystone again!

We had another wonderful stay at the Hyatt Place Keystone! This was our first stay while the resort was open and the walk to the lifts is literally 5 minutes. As an Explorist, we were upgraded to a king room facing the slopes and watched the groomers running each night. Highly recommend! The room itself was compact but functional, with a cozy bed, coffee maker, mini-fridge and plenty of lighting and outlets.

Breakfast was wonderful, clean and stocked. Loved the fresh fruit and berries each day, and the oatmeal was perfect! We're already planning our next trip!

We had a corner room on the 4th floor for our family of four including 2 daughters ages 11 and 8. The room wasn’t big but super cozy and well laid out with amazing view of the mountains. It was quiet and the heater worked with no issues. We especially liked the chaise sofa which was comfy to lay back and relax after a full day of skiing.

After reading the reviews we were a little worried about how the free daily breakfast would turn out but it was perfect to start the day. There was hot options like eggs/potatoes/bacon bits, and also yogurt, cereals, grains. Most importantly when we were there everything was constantly being refilled so nothing was unavailable. Also loved having the coffee/tea/hot chocolate and a commercial soda stream machine there for refills throughout the day.

Location-wise it was pretty close to Mountain House base where we did our lessons as a family on Day 1. That said, it’s still probably around a ~1km walk which is easy in regular shoes and clothing but actually very tiring with ski gear and especially wearing ski boots. We’d probably recommend walking over in regular shoes rather than in ski boots.

Parking ended up being fine too. It’s first come first serve and there are maybe ~20 covered spots under the hotel and lots of outside parking. We were able to find parking each day. We didn’t use the free valet service which apparently is an option if you can’t find self parking spot.

The only things I found could’ve been better:
- shower head in our room was a bit weak. Would’ve loved having a stronger flow!
- the coffee was pretty weak too. This was probably my biggest gripe personally ;)

Would totally recommend Hyatt Place in Keystone. We’d defiantly stay there again in the future.

I used to love to stay here in the past 3-4 ski seasons. But this years experience was horrible. The parking is always tricky here as it is free but often you have to use the valet as the spots are limited. The hot tub us reservations only so dont expect to use it on your checkin day. The hyatt allows guests to pay to check in early, so they will not allow late check outs most of the time. The Check-out time is 11:00 am and the hot tub doesn't open until 12:00 noon so you cant use that on your last day either. The breakfast is horrible options more like continental instead of the usually great hot options.

Reviews are subjective; and, perception is based on expectation. And, given the daily rate, my expectation was high. Plus, purely as a 'Hyatt' hotel, I booked the Hyatt Place Keystone with a certain expectation.

If you are expecting a Hyatt experience by staying here, you will be sadly disappointed.

From the outside, parking is very limited, and a valet was nowhere to be seen. Bellhop service (or any assistance with our luggage) was absent.

On the inside, I've seen Best Westerns with more appeal. The lobby is minimal, as is the lounge (which is sparse and unwelcoming).

The rooms definitely show their age. They were clean, but lampshades are damaged; window blinds are stained, etc.

Even given all of that, I can forgive a lot if the service is great. It wasn't. Instead of feeling like a welcome guest, I often felt like a annoyance to the front desk staff. Unlike other Hyatt experiences I've had, the staff here made no attempt to know my name or recall my room. There was no attempt to go above-and-beyond.

Lastly, the suggestion of having a shuttle to the ski lifts is totally untrue (unless the marketers are counting the village bus service).

On a positive note: the outdoor hot tubs on the 5th and 6th floors with views of the mountain were great.

Hotel Convenient to lifts...<5 min walk.
Rooms are very clean, modern and comfortable.
Staff is warm, courteous, and helpful.
On site parking.

MANY adjustments due to Covid.
Summit County has put in many restrictions. Some are reasonable some are not. The hotel works very hard to minimize inconveniences incurred by guests.

Breakfast is limited and simple but certainly acceptable. Preferences are written and submitted evening before.
Hot Tub is by reservation only with very limited number of slots.
Hotel was able to obtain a variance to keep coffee makers and refrigerators in room. Room safes are not available for use. There are no microwaves.

I really admire the staff who diligently work to mitigate virus threats while striving to meet wants and needs of guests.

There are a few hotels and restaurants around the hotel. But Keystone is on a strip along a road so you need a car to access everything as the whole town is over a couple of miles
