We stayed four nights and finally after returning on the third day called and asked that our bathroom be actually cleaned. (There was hair on the floor when we arrived.) The sink had been left with coffee splashes, vanity not wiped and tub not cleaned. Room was not vacuumed until we specifically requested it. (Bathroom floor was never cleaned). The staff was generally not friendly...questions were answered but that was it. No friendliness. No bathrobes are provided so it is very awkward to use the pool/spa facilities as we had packed skiwear and not coverups etc. This is billed as a spa....where are the bathrobes? Other guests who had stayed there before stated that robes had previously been provided. We asked if we could borrow robes from the spa but the answer was no. Shower head was a low flow fine mist. Hardly relaxing after a day of skiing. Not a four star experience. What is the $30/night resort fee for???

The hotel hallways and lobby are slightly dated and could use a refresh. The rooms are large, clean, beds comfortable and there are extra amenities you will not find in many area hotels, such as use of spa saunas, steam rooms and pools, complimentary robes, glass carafes of fresh water daily, full size lotions, soaps, shampoos, conditioner in the bathroom. We made use of the humidifier also. Bring your refillable drink container, there is a machine in the lobby that delivers fresh water as well as soda stream options. Great to use before heading out to explore for the day. There is no air conditioner in the rooms, although we were very comfortable using the fan in the room. You can leave your balcony door open as well to moderate the temp.

One minus, we booked through trip.com because they offered a lower rate than booking direct. The resort fee is actually $35 NOT $25 and there was an additional $9.99 unexplained daily fee that was also charged, although we did not use the valet and self-parked across the street.

Overall, a very nice, relaxing trip.

Our week trip to Keystone is one of the best vacations that we had. Booking at the Keystone Lodge and Spa is what made the different, they have a direct route via hotel shuttle to the Lifts, can store ski/snowboarding equipment at the lifts overnight for free, and simply have the most upbeat staff anyone could ask for. This hotel is designed around the customer experience as its top priority with great cleaning staff, amazing front desk staff (Halie, Ben, and Paige), and awesome valet workers directing traffic all of which are supported by a personable General Manager that seeks to make family vacations the best they can be. I will always make staying here my first choice for trips and definitely recommend this place for anyone. Staying in a Loft enabled my wife and I to have more space so we could return via Lodge shuttle at noon to have lunch in the lower part and then use the same shuttle to return directly for the lifts. Can't wait to stay here again!

I'll start with the positive - the place is relatively newer/nicely decorated in a mountain/western theme. It's very clean, and the front desk is open 24 hours.

That's about all that makes it a hotel vs. a motel. Right now, "due to Covid," they are not providing housekeeping at all; have limited amenities; and don't carry cash at the front desk (though they still charge a ~$60 resort fee for housekeeping, amenities, and things like snow removal in the common areas - in other words maintaining and operating the place).

Front desk vacillated between unhelpful to pleasant and somewhat slow.

Our room was handicapped accessible, which is fine, but we did not need those requirements. The shower/tub had no grit, and my daughter fell while taking a shower (and I almost did, but caught myself on one of the bars). At night, there was an engine sound that continued all night.

Maybe this is better when Covid is not going on, but I have been to numerous other hotels during Covid, and they have not stripped things to the bare minimum. My guess is it's simply a cost savings measure under the guise of keeping people safe.

Dear ano241, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am glad to hear that you felt the property was decorated well, modern and clean! CDC guidelines do provide guidance on removing daily housekeeping services. In an effort to help our staff and guests safe we have chosen to adopt this guidance. As for the tubs, I appreciate the insight you provided and we have begun to examine the tubs and see if it may be time for an upgrade here. I am happy to let you know that this is now on the docket to be addressed in April. I do hope you have the opportunity to come back and experience all that the Lodge has to offer in a time when there are not so many regulations and guidance around how to operate during a pandemic. Please reach out to me directly should you chose to return or if you would like to discuss this further. dstokes@vailresorts.com

Pretty much every aspect of the hotel was lackluster.
Called the day before to ask for early check in. Was told it wouldn’t be a problem.
Hotel is empty when we arrive at 2pm. They tell us room won’t be ready until 4.
Valet won’t park our car until check in at 4.
On site lounge says it opens at 3 but no bartender is there.
Restaurant service was horrendous. Food was actually worse than the service somehow. Shocked at how that’s possible.
Hotel itself looks like it was due for an upgrade about 20 years ago.
Room itself says housekeeping every other day…but what they mean is you need to repeatedly request that they come and they still don’t show.
Called to ask them to come clean the room on my third day. Was told someone would come after 4:30. No one came.
Next morning I requested house keeping before 1 so my son could nap. They said they would be right up. Never came. Came to my room at 1:30 when my son was napping.
Manager on duty just smiled and smirked at me when I was visibly upset sharing my frustrations. She made it seem like it was weird someone four days into their stay wanted their trash emptied and room cleaned.
Hotel obviously places a premium on cheap unskilled labor, it shows across the board. No hospitality. No service. Dirty hotel. Outdated facilities.
Would not return. Would not recommend. Hands down the worst lodging experience I’ve had in years.

When I booked this room, I called the number listed under the “website” link for the reservation. They gave me a price and repeatedly said “That includes everything. All taxes and fees and everything. That will be the total price “ and said the “third party” sites would be higher because they didn’t include taxes and fees. she repeated that more than once. When we went to check out, they said we still owed an additional $70 resort fee. When I told them I had been assured the rate I paid included everything they insisted since I’d booked through a third party it didn’t.

Also, the front desk was SUPER nice, just completely unhelpful. We asked if they had recommendations for restaurants, things to do, shops we could explore, anywhere we might find pamphlets on things to do. We were told “no/not really/you’ll have to go to Dillon or Silverthorne”. Really? Not ONE recommendation?

The room was nice, but this place would be a nightmare for anyone disabled. The rooms are all one long hallway and the wheelchair lift to the restaurant was broken. Exits were a nightmare.

1) The mechanical systems are loud and kept me up all night both nights. When I asked the front desk to change my room it could not be accommodated and the young person working there was absolutely clueless about what I was talking about. I know I was not the only person at this conference who had this issue. Others were accommodated by switching out their rooms. I was basically comped one night of resort fees.

2) Your facilities are dated. For the price/room paid for this conference it would have been better to stay up the road for cheaper.

3) The amount of fees/surcharges/taxes/etc line items on the billing statement is astounding.

4) The cheap hair dryer in the bathroom kept dying after one minute of use until it cooled down. Why. Why furnish your rooms with cheap appliances that dont work. It would have been better to buy some quality ones and have the guests call and borrow one for their stay than to furnish each room with garbage.

5) The wifi systems went down in the middle of the day when I had a deadline due. The phone reception was terrible in the building and I had to go outside on the patio to make/take calls.

Dear S_Shep0627, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I am glad to hear that the Front Office team was able to offer compensation for the issues encountered. We have extremely robust internet, I am sorry to hear that there was a brief outage at a critical time you needed it. Cell signal in the mountains can definitely be spotty. As the hotel is often full for conferences, it can make relocation of rooms tricky in the late hours after the majority of guests have arrived. I hope you have the opportunity to come and experience the resorts of the Rockies again in the future, maybe one that is in an incorporated city may be able to offer more of what you may be looking for for your preferred experience.

Do not stay here if you have a dog. This hotel is terrible we traveled with a service animal and we called multiple times to see if we would have to pay any fees for bringing her and they said no. The shower drain didn’t work at all our whole stay and we got two full beds instead of the king bed we had paid for. The air quality inside is terrible and the air conditioners don’t work. When we checked out they told us we had to pay over $500 dollars extra for our service animal and spa fee. The spa fee is $40 dollars a day per person even if you don’t use the amenities which is a scam and you have to pay $100 a day if you bring your pet. We talked to the manager and she was very rude and basically told us she didn’t care and that we were going to get charged regardless. As a manager you have to be understanding and treat people with respect which wasn’t the case for us.

Dear O2158PNcynthiah, I am sorry to hear of the issue encountered during your stay. I am thinking that you must have stayed at a different property as our nightly resort fee is $35 per room night, not per person, and has nothing to do with the Spa. Our pet fee is $35 per night, not $100 per night. Our room configuration is either a King Bed or 2 Queen Beds, not full beds. We also do not have A/C. If you did stay at the Keystone Lodge & Spa, please do contact me, I can be reached at 970-496-4192. I do hope you have the opportunity to come and experience the Keystone Lodge & Spa.

My experience was very disappointing. The room lacked daily routine cleaning. I had to take out trash, dirty dishes and dirty towels on a daily basis myself and unless I requested clean towels, clean cups, trash bags and coffee they were not provided to me every day. The carpet was dirty. The room was dusty. It was a horrible experience staying there. I do not recommend it at all.

Dear JasHer84, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at the Keystone Lodge and Spa. During these times of a global pandemic, we are operating with the safety of guests and staff front of mind, as a result, we have chosen to suspend daily housekeeping services. Our team is always happy to bring and remove anything that you may need during your stay at the door. The vast majority of our guests have been very understanding of this and have had a wonderful experience. I do hope you will find your way back to Keystone and give us another chance to prove this experience was not consistent with what our hotel and team typically provide.

Hotel overpriced for level of service and amenities. Refused to clean room or turn beds over referencing COVID. Very difficult to make reservations for meals, spa, pool etc; when asking staff for helped they refused referencing apps to use. At $400/night over Presidents’ Day I would say find cleaner, renovated option where half the staff doesn’t want yo be at work. Snowboarding was great, shuttle driver excellent.

Dear Trevor518, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Keystone Lodge and Spa. During these times of a pandemic, we have the safety of guests and staff front of mind and we have made the decision to suspend daily housekeeping services. We will bring anything you may need to the room. The current public health order does impose many restrictions on occupancy and how to manage those resulting in our reservation systems. I do hope you have the opportunity to come back again when we are not operating under these restrictions and guidelines so that you can experience the Keystone Lodge and Spa in a more normal environment.
