Great location right by the gondola and very close to the village (1-2 min walk).
Kids love the pool and there are 2 hot tubs. Honestly more modern the the River Run village with the pool amenities if you are looking for an outdoor heated pool and hot tub.
Our only complaint is that they sold the room as having 2 Queen beds in a 2 bedroom unit. This is not true. The beds are double beds, not queen. This is not the end of the world if you like to snuggle. If you need your space
While sleeping, just be aware they have smaller beds than advertised. Otherwise lovely.

The past few years we have booked several condos through Vail Resorts Central Reservation office (Lodge at Vail in 2012, Crystal Peak Lodge @ Breckenridge in 2013 and 2014, The Springs @ Keystone in 2014, and Red Hawk @ Keystone 2014); and we have had great luck up till this trip. To us it was worth paying more to book through Vail Resorts (vs. VBRO or other) so that we had access to the onsite management and maintenance, daily housekeeping, and typically better equipped condos. But that wasn’t the case this trip. The average price per night was higher at The Springs than equivalent room at Crystal Peak Lodge (5 star rating), so we had high expectations. Our expectations were not met.
The arrival process was made difficult by the fact that one of the two elevators was nonoperational; this was a continued source of frustration throughout our stay. Luggage carts were also difficult to come by, we ultimately found one by going floor to floor and finding them abandoned in the hallways outside of peoples rooms (this is an issue caused by lazy guest and not necessarily property management). Since the operational elevator only went to the 4th floor, those guest staying on the 5th floor had to ride to 4 and than take the stair up one flight – unacceptable. Complimentary Bell Service should have been provided for the guest on the 5th floor.
As far as room issues… We read all the reviews and were expecting warm temperatures due to the lack of air conditioning, but we were not prepared for how warm it would actually be. The fact that all the windows are on the same side of the building eliminates the ability to generate a cross breeze “if” you open the windows. Two of the bedroom only had sliding doors w/o screens and no windows, so leaving them open was an issue, the bugs flocked in at night to every light source (televisions, iPads, and phones). And the windows that had screens, the screens were falling out, again letting the bugs in the room. Air Conditioning would have been nice. But due to the lack of air conditioning - ceiling fans, and window/door screens would have been nice. Also since our rooms faced US 6 and Montezuma Rd, there was a considerable about of traffic noise when the windows were open. There were not enough pillows, especially if someone were to sleep on the sleeper sofa. The kitchen was very poorly equipped (unit# 8888 was much better than unit# 8860). When showering there was a very fine line between cold and scolding hot. And as the shower temperature got hotter the water pressure dropped drastically. I think our biggest issue was the lack of daily maid service, clean towels, and toiletries (soap/shampoo). In the past 3 years I have booked 6 condos through Vail Resorts Central Reservations. The reason I pay extra to go through Vail Resorts and NOT VRBO, is for the added amenities such as daily maid service. Nowhere in the hotel description or booking documents did it state that housekeeping services would not be provided.
The pool area was beautiful! It is one of the things that sold us on this property. However online photos make is look so much bigger than it actually is. This area was way too small to accommodate the number of guest trying to utilize the space. We first visited the pool early in the morning on 07/03/14 and it was as warm as bath water (nice!), but when we returned that afternoon and throughout the rest of our stay the water in the pool was COLD. Not sure why they turned off the heater?
I’m not sure why this room is more expensive than the rooms we booked at Crystal Peak Lodge or the room we booked at River Run Village? These condos had one less bathroom (3 bedrooms and only 2 baths), had no in room laundry, smaller bedrooms and living space, the kitchen was poorly equipped, little or no storage for clothing (no dresser in the master bedroom), no television in the secondary bedrooms, it is older, and in a less ideal location, and it did not include daily housekeeping service.
Based on the price, location, and amenities I will not stay at this location again. Either I will go back to Breckenridge or rent through owner where I know for sure what amenities I’m getting (preferably a room with a washer and dryer).
Unit 8860 is a 3 bedroom 2 bath located on the 3rd floor. King Bed in master, and queen in each of the other two bedrooms. Furnishings are old and warn and this unit is in need of an update.
Unit 8888 is a 3 bedroom 2 bath located on the 4th floor (directly above 8860). King bed in master, Queen in bedroom 2, and Twins in bedroom 3. This unit has been updated more recently than unit 8860. This would be my choice of the two.

I booked The Springs room 8788 for 5 nights in December 2014. We have previously stayed at other ski resorts and condos that had a larger lobby with people working at the front desk to help with anything. There is no one there, no front desk at all. There is a lobby area and a pool table when you enter, no table with hot cocoa/cookies/cider like other places we've stayed. Not even any drink packets in the room to make our own. It was close to the gondola (get one of the little wagons to haul your ski equipment if you have kids). The ski lockers on site are fine but it is a very narrow area to try to get all your gear in and out. When it's busy you are running into one another. You do have to cross a very large parking lot in your ski boots so be prepared for that. The actual room was fine but no washer/dryer. I expected more since I booked through Keystone resorts and asked them to put us in the newest, nicest place. I am not that hard to please usually, I just expected more for the price.

We were underwhelmed about our stay in 8860 from the moment we walked in our old tired unit. Each day we noticed more glaring issues, especially when considering we paid $10,000 for 5 nights. No smart TVs - this is an absolute must in 2024 especially when traveling with children. So the kids resorted to watching Netflix and Disney on their iPads. The unit is so dated, probably last touched 10-15 years ago so the general feel of the unit isn’t that good at all. Kitchen items were sufficient but very old so really it was hard to cook even eggs for breakfast. Two out of the four nights we went to use the hot tub they were out of towels. When we called to let them know they made it sound like it was very normal and to just use room towels. So home do we replace the room towels then? For our family we’d probably put the same $10,000 toward a nice house a few miles away or do better research to find something more suitable slope-side. Really the last time I felt this gouged on lodging was right before the 2008 market crash so I’m hopeful this is not a bad omen.

Room Tip: Research the exact unit. There are nice units in The Springs - 8850 is not one of them.

With expectations managed, this would have been an ok apartment.

We booked this as a last min early season Ski holiday over Thanksgiving. We booked it in Oct 2022. We booked this as it was a 1-2 min walk to the Gondola with 2 young children.

At no point when we made the booking by phone were we advised that the car park at Hunki Dori was closed for the construction of the new Kindred Resort. This started on 3 Oct 22 and from press releases looks like it will continue til 2025. Not exactly a Surprise pop up build.

It only became apparent on arrival that there was no access to the Gondola apart from walking into town and around. Which completely defeats the reason why a family would choose to stay here if you have young children. The Company advised us that they did not know that there would not be a walkway until the week before... yet did not think to communicate this to customers until they arrived.

Yes a path may have opened up on Thanksgiving but again until you walk back from town, the signage still says "No access to Gondola".

Apparently the company update their website to advise that this walkway was closed but we have not seen this despite checking several times.

And if you want to enjoy a relaxing dip in the pool after some skiing.... I hope you enjoy the sounds of construction vehicles.

And to make matters worse, my husband stepped on cold wet poo on the rug in our room as we entered our room for the first time.

(ps the insinkerator didn't work, and the colour and staining of the mattresses makes your skin crawl)

I have stayed at this hotel 4 times since the season opened.

The rooms are nice and they have the pools open.

During my latest stay I wasn’t told the hotel was doing maintenance. The property manger came by and asked if someone could come by at any time to change the locks.

I said no I don’t feel comfortable. As a single women I don’t want to be alone with a repairman especially during COVID. The property manager said “no problem” no one will stop by we will do it after your stay.

At about 5:30pm I got another knock on the door saying someone was there to change the locks. I said no he couldn’t come in the service was rescheduled. The man refused and started maintenance on the locks. He talked to himself and sang songs. I felt completely unsafe as a women. He didn’t wear a mask and I am afraid of COVID exposure.

I tried to call and the women on the phone wouldn’t give me her name or help me in any way. She said she couldn’t transfer me and I have no idea who to contact about this. It is a nice property and I hate to say this but I don’t want any other women to be treated this way and have no one to call.

I would NOT rent here again. The building and facilities are fine (except for the parking which is still a problem to find a spot in the underneath garage); however, if you look at google maps, the parking lot between The Springs and the Gondola is now a major construction site as they are building a new high rise there that will soon block the views from the Springs to the ski area and gondola. We could not enjoy our balcony, or the pool, or the hot tub, as the noise from the construction site was so loud that we could not hear ourselves speak. We even heard the noise in our 3rd floor condo unit when the doors to the balcony were closed.

The walk with Ski Boots on from the Springs to the Gondola is now considerably longer, as they have the construction site all fenced off. Red Hawk Lodge is now actually a shorter walk to the Gondola, but you would still have some construction noise.

Unfortunately, the people that own in The Springs should see considerable depreciation of their property values and rental rates.

Supposed to walk right out to the River Run gondola- NOPE! Massive construction project and you have to walk all the way around and through the village. They said nothing about this which we only discovered after arriving. Terrible. Unit seemed clean but who leaves coffee/ sugar and no filters or way to make it. Couch bed isn’t comfortable. I am going to request a partial refund. Whole reason I booked this place was the proximity to the lift. With 2 kids this makes a huge difference.

From no air conditioning to no change in the machine to do laundry. And there is no one on site to help with anything!!! On 2 separate occassions our key would not work to let us in the garage. After maintenance came to let us in the garage I asked him to stay to make sure it worked in our door. He responded with "oh it will work" and left! Needless to say we had to call back to be let into our room. The same thing happened the next night with completely different keys! This maintenance guy at least brought us another set of keys and made sure they worked!!! There's no place to put your clothes, not even hangers to hang them up. All our snacks are covering the counters due to no storage. We had to ask for 2 fans because the room is so ungodly hot! We booked this through our Disney Vacation Club and will be doing their review as well!!! We won't be staying here again!

Overall, it's hard to give them more than one star despite the location. Beginning with the fact that I had reserved at a different location over six months prior to my arrival, and was told six days prior to the date that the unit was not available, and I would have to move to The Springs or receive my money back. I basically didn't have an option and had to stay at this property despite not having reserved here.

Second, I had reserved a "premium" unit. There's NOTHING premium about the furnishings or anything in this unit. Save your money and go for a basic if you decide to stay here.

Third, the unit is very hot. Even with the heat off, the temperature is so hot it's uncomfortable. We called to see what was happening, and were told to crack a window. Obviously this is not a good idea in February in Colorado.

Finally, we left a phone charger in the room and called 30 minutes after leaving the property, only to be told it wasn't found. We're sure that it was there, so this isn't possible.

On the positive side, it's a great mountain and the village, although quite small and very fake, can be enjoyable.

Net, I recommend Keystone for skiing, but would not recommend you stay here... There are other resorts that appreciate your patronage more and will take care of you.

My room did have a DVD player but it depends as each room is owned privately. I would suggest contacting the management company that you booked through or the owner directly to ask.
