We were welcomed by Deborah the owner and the room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were great and it was quiet. I would stay at the Matterhorn again for sure. We were informed of the local restaurants and stores. The drive was beautiful as well as the surrounding mountains and lakes.

All of the rooms may not be the same. However, we had Room #1. Impeccably clean. Two queen beds with new, comfortable mattresses. Sleep sofa also in the room. Accessories above the norm, which gave the room an upgraded ambiance. Good size bathroom with shower. Small refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. Chairs outside the door for sitting and enjoying the...

This was my first visit to Lake City and I wasn't sure what to expect. The motel was very clean and looked like it had just be painted, the bathroom was small but in excellent condition. The motel is located at the base of the mountain and within easy walking distance to all shops and restaurants. We were just there...

I was only able to stay one night and I really enjoyed it. The room was super clean and had a kitchenette so I could put my supplies in the refrigerator. It was an easy walk to multiple restaurants and the main street of Lake City. It was a nice quiet motel and I had a great night's sleep. I...

We were in Lake City on a family trip and booked 3 rooms and 2 cabins for our group. All were clean and comfortable-the cabins were a bit more roomy but all had a kitchenette with everything needed for a meal in the room if desired. The bathroom was a bit small and the decor a bit dated but we...

Lake City must be one of those location location location towns because for the price I sure didn't see much in it. The Matterhorn was a cute little hotel tucked next to the Mountainside but little is the key word. I was surprised how tiny my room was especially the bathroom. You hardly have room to turn around in it....

As the title says the décor of this motel is definitely vintage 1980s. But it is very clean. The bathroom is tiny especially the shower. Being off the main street it is quiet. But it is an easy walk to the various village eateries. The new owner generously lent us a folding table and extra chairs so our large group...

This is a perfect spot to stay when adventuring around Lake City. The room was clean and roomy and the owner is extremely helpful should you need anything! The location was perfect for me, easy access to the alpine loop and walking distance to most restaurants. I would stay here again!

Our entire group had an amazing time- Very nice location, great place to go visit if your in the Lake City region. Highly recommend visiting some of the Local establishments such as the ATV riding experience through the mountains & Silverton Loop. Great hotel/ very nice rooms, a place where you can bring the family to get away from it...

We stayed at the Matterhorn one night while passing through on a motorcycle trip. It is off the main drag and up on a hill, and away from the town traffic. Nice and quiet! The owner lives on site and is friendly and personable and gave us great advice on a new restaurant that we wouldn't have found without her....

“Ask for a kitchenette - it comes with 4 burner stove and oven, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, refrigerator, pots, pans, glasses etc. etc. Keep in mind that a dinner in one of the local resaturants will run you at least $20 per person and do math.”
