Small and not initially a gem on the eyes, but very well priced, cozy, CLEAN, and quaint. The owner is genuinely interested in giving you a nice stay. Walking distance to downtown. I will stay again without a second thought.

I write this review without being influenced by any herbal substance referred to by a previous poster. And I didn't notice anything of the kind while staying at the Alps Motel. We had booked in advance for a late summer night, which in Leadville means the heat was on and there was just a hint of frost on the car...

Nice scenery. But the scent of marijuana wafts through from the main office. I notice people walk across from a marijuana dispensary, then the smell comes, and they go back to the dispensary. Not our type of a nice stay. The rooms are fine. Prices are good. Unless you don't mind the marijuana scent at all times of the day,...

Jeff M, Owner at Alps Motel, responded to this review

As the owner, I wanted to emphasize that smoking of any kind is not permitted in the Alps Motel rooms, its interior halls, or offices, with no exceptions. The motel office shares a separate building with a leased apartment unconnected to the Alps Motel. Lodging owners in Colorado have to deal with the new marijuana law on an ongoing basis,...

A vintage motel with today's amenities. Free Wifi and flat screen TV. Very clean and quiet. Owner was very helpful with any questions we had. Only 8 rooms so you should call for a reservation. A stunning view of the Mountains. It has mini fridge microwave in the kitchenette.

This is good place to stay if you are not looking for fancy. I'm not sure if Leadville has any fancy hotels but the Alps is a fine place. It has only 8 rooms so you need to make a reservation in the high season. The owner was very nice and he takes pride in the rooms and oversees everything....

We stayed in this motel for one night during an event. We felt the rate charged was a bit expensive all things considered. Pros: + The management was responsive. Not on site, but drove right there when called. + Management seemed flexible with check-in and check-out times, if you asked. + The rooms might be old, but they are quite...

Basic accommodations, but among the better places for the $ in Leadville. The owner/operator (Jeff I think?) is as hospitable and courteous as can be. Price was 30% less than the Super 8 down the road for this busy weekend, and has 2 queen beds available, Super 8 has only doubles and they are terrible. Room was perfect for just...

Older motel, but well maintained and VERY clean. The owners were most gracious and accommodating. As the purpose of our trip was to hike a 14er, the location of this motel was perfect. The cost of the stay fit our budget nicely. I intend to check the Alps Motel for accommodations for our next 14er hike.

We used Leadville as a base for doing some 14ers in the area. The Alps was just fine for that. It is a plain, simple 1960s motel, but comfortable beds and a good shower. All we needed. Jeff, the owner/operator, went out of his way to help us, and was very accommodating. It is very close to the center of...

We wanted a room for a conference being help here in the high altitude of leadville, and were happy to find a simple place. This is basic and rustic. We had a little difficulty with finding and calling the owners/managers who are available by phone, not on site. reasonably clean, internet, and the water was an interesting shower mix of...
