We recently returned from a weekend at Shoshoni and am still feeling the nourishment from spending time at this wonderful retreat center. The people who work there were sweet and very accommodating from office staff to yoga instructors to the kitchen staff. The cabins were clean and have that cozy mountain flare you expect in the Colorado Rockies. The food...

Shoshoni is an extraordinary place. The staff is generous and kind and unassuming, attentive but allowing you the space to relax and absorb all that is being offered. It goes way beyond the "yoga retreats" being offered elsewhere and emanates unparalleled joy as well as serious practice. If you want to experience what yoga really is and take your practice...

This is a very special place. The staff is very friendly and there is a culture of kindness throughout. The meals were scrumptious, and I liked that the staff, the teacher trainees and the guests all eat together. The hiking trails are beautiful, well-maintained and well-marked. Yoga classes were well-taught, and the accommodations in the eco-cabin were terrific. After only...

My daughter (age 25) and I stayed at Shoshoni for one night in August. I had never been to a retreat/ashram and felt apprehensive as we pulled up. However, in a very short time, the peace and calm was palpable, and I lowered my usually loud voice about 50 decibles. Our accomodation-a cabin with two queen beds- was very clean...

This was my second visit, after a longer one in May. This place is rustic, on purpose, no wireless, no TV, very peaceful. The new Eco cabins are excellent, huge bathroom, nice comfy bed etc. the yoga classes are very good. The food is healty and vegan options are available. But what makes the difference is the welcoming and friendly...

This was my second trip to Shoshoni. Last year, I stayed with a friend in the rustic cabin for two days. This year, my hesitant fella accompanied me for one night. I have to say that you need to spend at least two nights here; one was just not enough. Also, when you call for accommodations, have them give you...

I am a busy mom and world travelling business person. I'm also a long time yoga practitioner. Shoshoni is my oasis where I go when my tank is empty. Even just a day trip refills my tank. I leave Boulder at 9am, take the Pranayama class at 10 followed with a yoga class. This is followed by a great vegetarian...

I've been to Shoshoni for 3 visits so far and plan to do more. Shoshoni is the definition of a Colorado Mountain retreat. They have a large property with rustic cabins, modern eco-cabins (radiant floor heating, etc.), a lodge, sunroom, temple(s), huge yoga areas, hiking trails going into the surrounding National Forest, and on and on. The yoga sessions are...

It's labeled a yoga retreat but Shoshoni is an ashram. Students study here ayurvedic therapies, yoga, meditation and sanscrit chants-Eastern religion. The students live here and run the place, and you will learn from them. So, students teaching students. You need to feel comfortable with chanting in sanscrit and doing meditation to really get all you can out of this...

After a curvy and icy drive from Denver, and missing the driveway entrance initially, I followed the long backwooded driveway at least a mile or two off the highway and finally started to see signs that I was arriving to Shoshoni. It was a Wednesday, early evening, and I found the main office closed. I didn't quite know where to...

“Check out the pictures online. Some of the choices (mainly the cheaper options) are shared space (i.e dorm style bunk beds with shared bathrooms) but I always stay in the private cabins. And I am pretty sure all the private cabins have been remodeled, but you may want to check.”
