Staying at the Mariposa is like being invited to spend spring break at your uncle and aunt's place...if they happened to own a lovely lodge surrounded by mountains, that is! The Mariposa has only 4 guest rooms, and these are smallish, but the rest of the house is spacious, with a greenhouse/solarium furnished with comfy chairs and sofas, a living...

My husband and I booked a stay at Mariposa for a last-minute getaway. This warm, wonderful oasis of comfort--just about a mile from the downtown strip of Steamboat--was just what we needed after a stressful few weeks at work. Here's what ya need to know about Mariposa: Layout: It's a beautiful one-level, Southwestern-style home with GIANT timber beams across the...

We love this place and will be back again. Such a relaxing atmosphere and easy to feel at home. You are close to town but are surrounded by the beauty of the natural valley. Food is great and staff is welcoming! Overall a great and enjoyable spot.

Regarding our stay on 10/02 - 03, three adults: 1. We had to request a third set of towels. Had to go to the pool with only two pool towels, because there was nobody there to assist us, only a letter to let us know to come in. 2. Toilet paper roll was in the end and there was no...

Mariposa Lodge sounded like a great place for a weekend getaway. We made reservations for two nights in the Monarch room. (via telephone, talked directly to them and provided a credit card number) But we will never have a chance to know what it's like. When we arrived, confirmation email in hand, we were informed that they had double booked...

My staff told me of this when it occurred and I certainly am sorry this happened. While we have had things go wrong over the years in reserving rooms, this couple was the first that we didn't catch before they actually arrived. The almost-guest was offered a complementary night in another available room, and we contacted another B&B to find...

This B&B was my first. Staff was overly accommodating. Beautiful house with fabulous charm. Breathtaking scenery. Watched the stars light up the sky. Room was plenty big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. Breakfast was amazing. Can't wait to come back. Can't be soon enough.

Spent a delightful night in the Oso room at this haven. Gorgeous property, easy to find and has parking, 0.6 miles away from downtown & did the walk easily, amazing peach pancake breakfast and comfy bed and pillows! Top notch communication with Dani, beautiful chairs along the river, abundant towels, clean, clean and more clean! Awesome reading material---books galore, picture...

We enjoyed a Friday night, Saturday night stay at Mariposa in the Gemelo room. The B&B is close enough to walk downtown but off the beaten path. We did not meet the owner but Dani can whip up a nice breakfast! I recommend business, couples, friends and solo. The only reason I do not recommend family is there are no...

Spent a long weekend in Steamboat right at the end of ski season. Caught a great weekend of spring snow and just-chilly-enough sunny days. The location is a few streets away from downtown, but it's the right balance of being "off on its own" and still close enough for a long walk to town. Not as "in the neighborhood" as...
