Detailed Reviews
Book room only in the newly renovated section. The rooms in the other section is very shabby and would give you a 2 start hotel room feel. D Varee Jomtein really needs to work on their House Keeping Team, as the spoons in TCM set up in room are old and dirty. The rooms are not cleaned properly. The balconies chair table is filled with dust while check-in. Since I am also from the hotel industry I initially tried mentioning my feedback at the reception but it seems that no one is interested in your reviews which forced me to mention here for higher authority to make a note of it.
The outdoor restaurant is well decorated but limited sitting capacity so be on time. Or else you have to sit at the indoor restaurant which looks more like a canteen than a restaurant. The waiters at the restaurants are also not trained well regarding hospitality. They will not be willing to clean the tables on time and would be lazy to even pick plates from the table.
This hotel has lot of potential and can even increase the rates if they work on services.
Regardless of all this, the view from the balcony was breath taking. D Varee is a good mid-range hotel in Pattaya.

We stayed at the hotel in Jan-24 in a Premium Delux room at Level 24. We also used an additional bed for a teenager.
Overall stay in the hotel was comfortable with a good location. Although the rooms could use some TLC and are showing the hotel's age with old mattresses and curtains/blinds to cover glass next to the bathtub and overall outlook, the cleaning staff made our stay very comfortable. The TV is really small (32") for these days and wifi becomes almost unusable during weekends when the number of guests increases. The whole lace can also get noisy when there are corporate groups that hold dinner parties with loud music in dining area.
Gym was usable and breakfast was also OK for a 4-star hotel.
We loved the location of the hotel as it was at a walkable distance to various night markets and other facilities.
It would be great to get some better mattresses, bigger tv and better wifi.

Great location right across from the beach area. Check-in was extremely frustrating and unhelpful as check-in staff were indifferent, command of English was minimal Room very tired and needs an extreme makeover, Absence of essential furniture like night table and lamps, no luggage area, no desk area under TV which shown in pictures, no cutlery or dishes in kitchenette. Pool(s) area nice and spacious with lots of loungers. Breakfast area large and spacious almost like an auditorium but music was loud and repetitive. Selection of food was varied, appealing and plentiful.
Security could be improved, any person can access any floor without keycard, anyone could walk in off street and use lower pool are or for that matter even main pool. You can enter dining area by coming in side entrance from outside, bypassing the hotel staff who check guests for breakfast access at other end of hallway.
POSITIVE: The General Manager Khun Banana was a definite plus to this hotel. He was proactive to constructive comments, took an absolute interest in the well being of guests and it was obvious that he took pride in customer relations. His approach to improvements is refreshing and bodes well for the hotel. With positive investment in customer service/relations and renovations this grand old dame hotel can once again shine brightly in Jomtien

We ask you to replace us with a hotel room! We rested at this hotel twice. Everything was great. We reduced our stay in Patong to 3 days at our favorite hotel D varee. They paid for their stay in advance from February 17-27. We used to live in room 2315. And they promise us nov to give the room even higher. But on arrival at the given number 250 second floor.
We said that we do not need a second floor. only higher. At the reception they answered to take a room above the second floor you need to pay five hundred baht for each day of stay. we really asked to replace the room here two beds we need one big. the room has an unpleasant smell. the corridor smells of paint. it smells very stylish with bleach from the pool when it is cleaned by our room nearby. Our balcony was flooded with black, sewage. It smelled bad. But the number was not replaced by us. we do not know English and the letter is written using a computer. The hotel is very nice! great restaurant. varied menu with a wide selection of dishes. Two large pools and an excellent fitness room. here you can enjoy your vacation on the first line from the sea. nice atmosphere. but indifferent, disrespectful people at the reception. We travel often. and really liked this hotel. but forced to abandon him. spoiled rest. and also in our issue a very weak wi-fi. we will be here until February 27th. Good luck everyone.

We stayed here two years ago and were reasonably happy. In two years the rooms are looking tired. The breakfast is still quite good and the maid was very pleasant and efficient.
However, we come to Pattaya to play golf. We used a car service parked in front of the hotel two years ago he was excellent. Since then the hotel has brought the taxi service in house. We used the service Friday to go to a course and the cost was higher than Grab but convenient (1500 vs 1200 bhat). We used it again today to go to the same golf course. However, the dispatcher directed the driver to take us to a different golf course and the driver charged us an additional 300 bhat for the inconvenience of taking us to the wrong course. We are going to the same course tomorrow but have arranged an alternative service at a lower cost.
I raised my concern with the duty manger. While he apologized he seemed disinterested at best.

The hotel manager at this hotel does not care about the guests, he's only been on the job for 2 weeks and already he's ignoring complaints and concerns, he does nothing. Whoever hired him needs to find someone else quick!
The hotel, has no guests, it's literally a ghost town and no one speaks English to help you, so if you're a tourist that expects service you won't be getting it here. Staff take forever to do anything, even as simple as asking for a blanket you can wait an hour or you have to keep calling downstairs until someone comes.
Seems like they do not like foreigners here, as if they feel that foreigners have left them high and dry. Best to avoid this place and give business to hotels that have learned to appreciate the importance of tourism.
The price is low but rooms are dingy, small, and very depressing, the food is not good either. Many people have complained about the breakfast being dull and i will too, since i have eaten here before. This hotel has gone downhill since the pandemic with no signs of recovery in site. Might as well close down or sell it. I will definitely not return.
By the way if you want hard boiled eggs that are cold and look like they have been sitting around for hours or days this is what you will get here. They just don't care about anybody.

We stayed at the D'varee for 3 nights on a break from Bangkok. It is a hotel that has clearly seen better days. All indications are that this is an ageing hotel that is trying to compete with the many newer and nicer hotel options in Jomtien by cutting costs rather than improving their facilities or services.
It started with the longest check-in process I have ever experienced in Thailand. At least 30 minutes for no clearly apparent reason other than being disorganized at the front desk. I thought they had forgotten about me entirely by the time they brought me the room key. Unfortunately, it soon became clear this was part of a pattern where none of the hotel's services were quite as they should be.
Then we headed up to the room, which was small and badly in need of refurbishment. Pretty much all of the furniture was old and in need of replacement but what really got to me was the mold in the bathroom. The curtain was literally purple in the corners from the rot.
Breakfast was quite limited in terms of options and not very tasty for what was made available. In particular, the coffee was utterly undrinkable and forced me to go out each morning after breakfast in search of a decent cup.
It is really a shame that a hotel with such a great location in the middle of jomtien beach and huge potential if they would invest the money and effort to run it genuinely as a 4-star hotel is instead such a disappointing stay. We definitely will not be back!

Very tired hotel
We were on vacation with our family from 12/30/23-01/10/24, we were accommodated on the 30th floor, room 3003. The only plus was the beautiful view) Old shabby furniture, the closet could barely open and close, the light inside the closet did not go out, as the doors did not fit tightly and it was annoying at night, there are no shelves inside, nowhere to put clothes, a small sofa, a table, a chair, a TV, under it there is a strange nightstand, a bed, bedside tables. The air conditioner is built-in, ancient, even in the Low mode it was uncomfortable, and without it it was stuffy. Bed linen , towels were changed every day, but they are also old .. cleaning is so-so, for 3... food for breakfast - the omelet is not tasty, fried eggs (the only thing you can eat))), no boiled eggs, sausage / sausages are not appetizing, did not eat, there is no cheese at all, the pastries are disgusting (that’s good, you won’t get better))), only 3 types of fruit every morning (alternating choice from melon, watermelon, papaya, pineapple), soups, and hot dishes - pasta, rice, vegetables, etc. in the canteen))… the tea in the kettle is black, no, and the coffee is the same. Draft drinks, packaged juices. Swimming pool, very few sun beds, but we didn’t use them, towels. If you didn’t have time to take them in the morning, you won’t get them. There is a small fitness room. The hotel needs reconstruction!!!! and change the cooks! and the location is good, there are 2 markets nearby where you can eat in the evening.

Totally UNHELPFUL management.
Booked D Varee on the wrong weekend. I called both the booking agency and the hotel booking office to get a very minor shift in the date -- the hotel refused to change the booking, even though there were plenty of rooms available. I was OK to pay a higher price, but they just refused outright. Lost the entire $$ I had already paid for the room, and I was unable to stay. So this review is giving them back their 2,200 baht lol
I would suggest finding a hotel that will actually talk directly and help paid customers...and in my case, a RETURNING customer. Instead, they just kept telling me to talk with the agent...who actually had called the hotel and DVaree had refused to make any change. So the agent asked me to talk directly. I called the hotel 3 times and they never helped me at all. In the end, I gave up.
Who would want to stay at a place that doesn't give a sh&t about their customers? Not me.
There are far better hotels in Jomtien that offer better customer service.

I just finished spending 3 weeks in this hotel and I wish I was back there right now. It isn't a new hotel and the rooms are a little dated but what it lacks in sparkle it more than makes up for in other ways. The staff is incredible. The security guard by the elevator (short hair, I wish I knew her name) gave me a HUG every morning on my way out. The lobby coffee shop staff saved me pieces of my favorite cake (Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake OMG!). The concierge upgraded our baseline airport taxi to a luxury SUV without even saying anything. I could go on and on about how chill and cool the place is. The breakfasts were amazing. The neighborhood and Jonpiem Beach had lots of interesting shops and restaurants and you weren't in the middle of chaos every night like the places by walking street. If you want a more "chill" Pattaya experience, if you are in town for business or with a family or for a romantic getaway with your lover this place is for you. Sit on the balcony and watch the sunset and feel all of your cares drift away on the sweet tropical breezes.
