This was our second stay at Mt Elbert Lodge and Cabins. We stayed in the Lodge the first time (early Sept) and then in "The Barn" the second (early Oct). We will be back again that is for sure. Love the setting and love the rustic charm. The cabin had everything you would need and plus some. Great place!! If...

This is our third time staying at Mt. Elbert, and each time we come it feels more like home! Scott and Laura are such wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Our room was very cozy and comfortable with great views of the golden aspens outside the window. We awoke to a fresh blanket...

It was our 1st visit but we would love to return. We stayed in the B&B and loved the comfortable, clean and cozy atmosphere, The hosts went out of their way to explain everything. The hot tub was a treat with the elk bugling nearby. The breakfast was delicious, ample and healthy. It was a great place to use as...

Stayed at the Cinnamon Bear Cabin for 4 nights: 9/13/13 thru 9/16/13. Excellent and relaxing venue. Cabin is 10 years old, and well-designed with one bedroom up, one down (one bath), and a spacious LR/kitchen area. Cinnamon Bear is great for watching the sunrise over the mountains, as it faces East, with a sitting area in front of the propane...

I spent the weekend of 9/15 at Mount Elbert lodge. I have come to this lodge several years in a row because I enjoy the owners, homey feel of the cabin and the quiet away from the world. My second night here I listened to the Elk bugle for a great part of the night. The sky was clear, the...

We stayed in the Tall Pines cabin for 3 nights. Tall Pines is the second-to-last of the 5 cabins on the north side of 2 lane Hwy 82, slightly uphill and across the highway from the main lodge. The single lane road that leads to these 5 cabins is unpaved, bumpy, and narrow, but if you drive slowly and carefully...

We wanted to give our family visiting from back East a mountain experience, and Mount Elbert Lodge was the perfect place for it. Our party comprised four adults and five children between the ages of 12 and 6, and the Big Lodge was ideal for our needs. Beautiful bedrooms, ample quilts, a fantastic kitchen, cozy fire place, library, living room,...

This was our third stay at the Mount Elbert Lodge, our second in Cinnamon Bear cabin. The lodge is in a great location in nestled in the woods, quiet, with fabulous views of the mountains. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable bedroom. Not fancy, but clean and cozy, just what a cabin should be. The porch view is wonderful and we...

I wish I could have stayed for ever. I will definitely be back. I can't really find words to explain how magical this place is.The cabin was cozy and included EVERYTHING we needed. The hot tub under the stars was all ours whenever we wanted it. The property is amazing- you don't even have to leave. There are firepits all...

We stayed in the smallest cabin (Tall Pines) There were 4 of us and the cabin easily slept all of us comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of extra pillows and blankets for the cool nights. This place is absolute heaven. Loved sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds and sitting in the hot tub with...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We began as a base camp for miners back in the heyday of Colorado's mining boom and today we are a quiet get-away nestled in National Forest at the base of Colorado's highest peak. Step out of today's hectic world into a quieter time at Mt. Elbert Lodge. We have no TVs, radios or phones in our comfortable housekeeping cabins; we do have a front row seat to the Colorado Rockies. ... more   less

“The Rinker Cabin is more modern, easier to cook in, and handicap accessable. It and the Cinnamon Bear both sit above the highway with good Mountain Views. Most of the other cabins are near the creek, closer together, but you can hear the creek at night, and they are more historic and quaint.”
