While the sonnenalp is expensive it met all expectations of a world class hotel, from cleanliness and room design/decor, to turn down and vallet service, everything was top notch. Also for arriving in a filthy car and being very young, the staff treated my girlfriend and I with respect and dignity as they would any other guest. Highly recommended, if...

The Sonnenalp is a very special hotel. It is both elegant and cosy. The Austrian decor is perfect in the mountain setting. The rooms are comfortable and welcoming. The breakfast buffet is a real treat and the service always excellent. My husband and I have stayed here many times over the years and it never disappoints.

My company had our annual retreat at the Sonnenalp and then my boyfriend and I stayed the weekend. The Sonnenalp feels as though you are in Europe, with traditional, rustic decor. It is fairly quiet and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Even in the off-season, there is much to do in Vail, particularly if you enjoy the outdoors. A...

We stayed 5 nights at Sonnenalp during a 6 week trip in the States. We arrived by car around 10 a.m. and even though they were clearly busy with lots of people checking out, they promptly came to our car, took our luggage and we were even that lucky that our room was ready. We had a really nice upgrade...

Took advantage of an off-season Spa special and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Everyone is well trained on how to treat guests from valet to wait staff. The rooms are excellent but because this is an older hotel the room ventilation is mostly from open windows. That is fine because the mountain air is crisp and clean! The Spa is fantastic....

I organized an overnight conference at the Sonnenalp and the staff was phenomenal in every aspect. From the initial planning stages, to booking rooms, to the completion of the conference, every detail was handled with ease and professionalism. The rooms were fantastic, and the conference facility suited us perfectly. I will definitely be returning to the Sonnenalp, and will plan...

We hosted a corporate event at the Sonnenalp and will very likely return next year. The property itself emulates a Swiss or Bavarian luxury resort. Every detail seems to be handled with guest comfort in mind. (The heated floors in the bathroom are unsurpassed!) The event support that we received was far superior to any other venue that we've experienced....

Sonnenalp is dellightful in every respect. The rooms, suites, bathrooms, closets, you name it, it was wonderful. No chipped paint and rub marks on the walls from luggage. Great concierge service, and the owner was gracious and quite engaging. This may be a first! We literally had a superb stay and were treated well the entire 6 days. We had...

Vail has one of the best Orthopedic Clinics in the country, the Steadman Clinic. After having a extremely invasive surgery at the Vail Valley Medical Center, I chose to stay at the Sonnenalp to do my first week of recovery close to the hospital and Clinic. Best decision Ive ever made. The Sonnenalp was in their post ski season, not...
