This b&b is everything you hope for- the nicest, most helpful hosts, a beautiful old building with all modern conveniences, a comfortable bed and luxurious linens, a great location with adorable, historic towns all around, and a truly amazing breakfast! We had planned to arrive Thursday night, but our flight got canceled so we couldn't get there until Friday. Mike...

Mike and Stacie are the new owners as of May 2nd after a long run with Elaine and Leo Klevens, so our May 5th visit was one of their first guest nights. Mike greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home, offering immediately to assist us with luggage and making an evening dining suggestion. Service was outstanding, continuing...

The Riverwind is a gem! Elaine and Leo Klevens are hosts extraordinaire! It is charmingly decorated, at this time for the holidays. Twinkly lights, spices in the air, and delicious breakfasts make this a perfect place to stay. There is a greatroom upstairs and a lovely living area with a crackling fireplace downstairs. The rooms are beautifully decorated with antiques.

We were two couples on holiday from New Zealand. Really enjoyed our short stay (2 nights) with very friendly and helpful hosts with great local knowledge, comfortable rooms and a delicious breakfast prepared by Elaine with a serving of good coffee, juice and cheerful banter from Leo. We are all happy to recommend The Riverwind Inn to others.

The house is beautiful, with every room nicely decorated and very welcoming. You feel like you want to take a seat and relax as soon as you walk in. It's also very quest, we had no...

this beautiful B & B was everything we hoped it would be for a romantic getaway. Built in the 1800's it featured period furniture, original fireplaces and wide planked floors to name a few and it was immaculately clean. Innkeepers Elaine & Leo were so welcoming and Elaine's breakfasts were scrumptious and filling. We are looking forward to our next...

We spent only a single night here on our first visit but will definitely return. Lovely inn, kind & welcoming hosts, immaculately clean and an outstanding breakfast that exceeded all expectations. We stayed in "Willow" room which has a private covered porch that only added to the charm. If you are in the area, definitely check this out!

We just wrapped up a two-day stay at the Riverwind Inn. It was perfect. The Inn is welcoming and the inn keepers Leo & Elaine are like long time friends. Elaine greeted us warmly when we arrived, and showed us right to our room. The inn is in a great location, so close to many quintessential Connecticut towns, like Essex,...
