The manager is an absolute disgrace , wouldn’t speak to my dog like that never mind my customers!. We were on a family charity sponsor cycle/walking day around Millport and decided to nip in here for refreshment afterwards. A member of our party asked how to get out to the garden seating area with his drink and was spoke down to by the manager who replied your not allowed outside it’s illegal with an attitude and head shake. At this point myself and another family member were just waiting at the door to enter at this point he didn’t know we were with the rest but he turned to us an said and what is it a can do for you two in a horrible tone and attitude. At this point he then started arguing with the rest of the family. He then made a point of coming outside an moving a few family members and shutting the outside seating! Let’s remember we are still in covid times and should be encouraging outside drinking where possible. The guy does not have a clue! He has absolutely no good customer service skills. Horrible horrible man, completely baffled as to why such a person would be a manager of a place that has lots of visitors flock to! Running the business into the ground. Reading past reviews and can see a fair share of people who have experienced the exact same from what looks to be the exact same person. AVOID FOLKS!

This is the reverse of a travelodge. A unique building which has grown over time. Each room is individual but the rooms with balconies overlooking the sea have views to die for!. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very clean. the bar/restaurant is relaxing and convivial. currently the menu is short but this will qbe rectified when the industry wise staff shortage eases. I recommend the Haggis Pakora, the angry scotsman burger and the fried chicken wrap. The Italian bottled beers are also excellent. Thanks to the manager as well for the netting over the outdoor terrace which allows you to eat lunch undisturbed by the larcenous seagulls!

Our first time back at the George since it’s refurbishment. We had a lovely bar meal and I just wanted to say how lovely the bar and waiting staff were. When my pal couldn’t make her mind up on a lager she’d never tried before the staff give her a wee taste. It’s wee things like this that go a long way.

We booked Sannex room 2nd - 5th Sept 2021 and very nice , great wee balcony with "wow " sea view ..... been refurbed and clean tidy and comfy bed !!! it has the only place you can sit outside on the sea front / pier and drink and watch the world go by. Derrick and his team were brilliant and took care of us and made us very welcome and we will be back here to not only visit Millport but to visit these guys again. We read mixed reviews when we booked but thought we would give it a try , and after 3 nights there we can recommend this hotel. Thanks again to Derrick & team and hope to see you all again soon. cheers Eddie & Kat :) xx
