Wednesday July 19th We were only going to spend one night while visiting friends in the area, they raved about the inn, so we spent about double $$ from what a local motel was charging. Our room # 218 in one of the back buildings on the second floor, STEEP STAIRS, corner room was WOW when you first saw it,...

We recently became aware that the Copper Beach Inn had changed hands so we stopped by the Oak Room for dinner. Each of the four of us agreed that the food was among the best we have ever eaten. I had Wiener Schnitzel which was the best I have ever eaten. Our friends had Hanger steak and Mussels and we're...

We stayed in room 321 on the 2nd floor of Comstock House, which is one of the two newer buildings behind the main house. Parking is nearby, but there is no elevator. Our room was spacious and very quiet. The a/c worked well, but was noisy at times. Lighting was just adequate. The king bed was very comfy. Decor was...

My wife and I went to Essex, Conn. for a little get a way. We decided to plan a trip on the Essex Railroad which travels through the woods in an old fashioned train where you have a few drinks and enjoy the scenery. The ride lasts about half an hour and then it drops you off where you board...

CBI back in the day used to be the epitome of fine dining. Very elegant. When we went, the bar seemed busy but there were very few diners. A steak knife could not cut through the chicken breast, so I did not eat it. No compensation was offered, i.e., a substitute entree or financial reimbursement. Our guests were similarly disappointed....

We had stayed in the inn long ago and had fond memories. Unfortunately the copper beech tree is in its fading years, but the inn is still vibrant. While we appreciated the upgrade to a room in the 8yr old Comstock House up the hill, we wish we could have experienced the charm of the inn again. The newer building...

I had to arrange a rehearsal diner for approximately 50 adults. We had three choices, steak, chicken and salmon. All were excellent. The portions were large, each dish was cook perfectly. The room was set up perfectly, guests were able to have conversations and were able to move around the room. The service was extremely professional and the staff could...

My husband and I celebrated my birthday there. Must have been an off night. We live in the area so just went for dinner but will wait for better reviews until we return. Steak was to have a peppercorn sauce. Apparently no one mentioned that to the chef! No sauce or peppercorns. Ordered fries because they were ' pommes frites'....

We went for drinks and appetizers with a friend for the first time since it changed owners. Love this place and will go back again. The bar is inviting and cozy. Great food and drinks that are moderately priced. Will definitely return here! We went for dinner not to stay at the inn.

Quaint place. Strong smell as you enter the back building/cottage, where my room was. Found a diffuser and wondered what smell they were trying to cover up. The room was good. I found a bug, was the size of a small cockroach, but wasn't (I think). Breakfast was wonderful! I don't know how the gentleman did it all (checking people...
