...the insanity of those hedonistic tourist areas in South Bali and get a little peace and quiet, maybe do some work on the computer I've been putting off, and experience some things I know nothing about such as snorkeling and yoga. I did get the peace, quiet, and work done during my stay but the snorkeling and yoga... oh well, I still know nothing about them. This is a lovely small resort on Bali's northern coast which I believe is pretty much geared to diving tourism. It is a well-designed, well-maintained, and well-managed place. As you might imagine by its name, it's got a Buddhist theme going on with many different statues of my Lord Buddha peppered along its grounds - a few such decorations in my room as well (this is very meaningful to me). I definitely enjoyed my stay here (well after the first night anyway). I had a nicely decorated, spacious bungalow with a comfortable bed. I especially liked the bathroom area outside in a small, walled-off area - something naturally (I'm really struggling for a word here) transformative - maybe cleansing - about being outside taking a shower in an open space with fresh air - not indoors in a small claustrophobic porcelain room. Very nice bungalow well worth the price I paid. You know, one thing I didn't like about it was the window blinds. The bungalow is like all windows on two sides with the front being sliding glass doors - glass from the floor up. The blinds are solid wood (I believe) - beautiful but very heavy. My perpetually jacked-up, pained arm wasn't amenable to raise or even lower them so... Hey, the restaurant is very good here too. I had dinner there twice and the grilled pork with mustard sauce stands out in my memory - exceptional! I also liked that they offer half portions of their different salads. Oh yea, the tempeh salad was quite tasty as well. Breakfast was a fairly basic affair with a few items. I guess I'm a bit limited when it comes to breakfast as I don't eat eggs. I do like the bread they have though. Come to think of it, the homemade (I believe) yogurt was quite good. What else can I tell you about this place: location deserves a mention. On one hand, it's amazing being on the ocean with the sensational view of the water, especially when one is cooling off in their beautiful infinity pool. And I also somewhat remember seeing a good view of that epic volcano in the opposite direction once. Now on the other hand, it is on the edge of Kubu, a small town with really no restaurants to speak of or anything else on offer to see or do. You know, I don't really care eat in the same restaurant three times every day, day after day. That's not any comment on the restaurant here, I just like variety. I actually walked to Tulamben and back (3½ km each way) a couples times where there is a little more going on than in Kubu. On the way back one time, some jerk driving a car swiped my arm with his side view mirror and then had the gall to chastise me about walking on the road. I hope he can't fix his mirror so it costs him a lot of money to replace it. Glad it wasn't my bad arm he hit. So back to the resort: Barbara is an on-site owner who I saw a few times during my stay. She seems to be a professional, hands-on leader who works with her staff and checks-up on her guests regularly. I found her to be a very nice person the few times we talked. I bet her no one on her staff told her about that first night's problem I alluded to earlier because I'm sure she would have said something to me about it if they had. The air conditioner in my bungalow went out. Not that it was hot in the room as their is a ceiling fan that keeps the place quite cool, it's just that it started beeping incessantly at around 4 am, and I couldn't stop it with the remote or even unplug because it's so high up. I didn't get a good night's sleep that night which I think is the most basic and important function for a hotel to provide its guests. I went to the front desk soon after it opened at 7 am and the problem was fixed expeditiously, but it still threw me off the whole day. I'm sure Barbara would have said something to me if she knew about it. Whatever, I've always had problems with sleep my whole life anyway.

Great dive center. Beautiful yoga space right by the water. Bungalows situated in a gorgeous garden in between palm trees and mango trees with a stunning view of the volcano. This place is an absolute no brainer. If you don’t plan to go to north Bali, you should just to spend some time here. Was traveling with my wife and baby, and had high requirements to the standard. All our needs were met. The staff is super friendly and service minded. Was blown away by the value that this place provides. The founders pour their hearts and souls into this place and it shows. They also take an active role in local waste management and reef protection and restoration. 👌🏻🌟 Definitely coming back next time in Bali.

Our family of 7 (Me, my partner, my sister, and my 4 kids ranging from 6 to 18 years old) go on diving holidays every summer. This year we chose Siddhartha Dive Resort, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. It can be quite a challenge to find a resort with good diving, good food, good spa, and good service, but this resort exceeded all of our expectations. Diving The dive shop is the cleanest and most modern I've seen yet. The equipment was well-maintained, the dive team was professional and kind, and the extra hands helping us with our dive gear made the entire experience very enjoyable and prevented back pain. Our favourite dives were the Liberty Wreck, the Manta Point, and the drfit dive. These are on our top five dives of all time. I highly recommend taking Dramamine before any of the boat dives as the one time my daughter skipped this, she was too ill to complete her dive. Food The menus are a good mix of European and Indonesian dishes. There are lots of pastas for the less internationally-minded eaters. That said, I hadn't imagined that my british children would embrace Indonesian food so happily, but they all (even the 6 year old) really loved the Indonesian dishes and even ask for those dishes at home now. We were able to get food all day at the pool if we were hungry outside of the restaurant opening times. I was testing the menu by ordering something different each day, and I absolutely loved every dish. The desserts were splendid. The drinks were fresh and yummy. We all drank more fresh pineapple, papaya, watermelon, mango, and orange juices than we ever have before. I am very particular about coffee, and the coffee here was excellent. Spa The spa is glorious, rivaling the 5-star spa resorts I've visited in other countries. I had 5 spa treatments total, and everyone else in the family tried at least 2. The Balinese massages are very relaxing, and the anti-stress did wonders for my back when it was in spasm after our long flight. The signature experience was one that I wish I had photographed because it really felt like I was in another world. This is a 2-hour hot stone massage in a hut made to look like the inside of a cave. It started out with a hot stone massage where I counted at least 33 hot stones on our around my body. They initially felt too hot, but I didn't protest and quickly came to enjoy the heat. After the massage, the mattress was removed from the bed, the lady laid down banana leaves and hundreds of flower petals on the table for me to lay down on, and she turned on a bamboo rainfall shower overhead. This was quite a luxurious feeling. I wished there was someone with me to share in the unusual experience. Then for the bath. Another few hundred flower petals were floating on the top of a massive bathtub. the bathtub, big enough for me to float in. There were candles everywhere. It was all a bit unusual and amazing. I lost track of time completely. Villas We stayed in 4 of the lower priced villas since there were 7 of us, and honestly, I can't imagine wanting anything more than what the villas provided. Great air conditioning, no mosquitoes, comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom, lounge chairs and table/chairs on the veranda, 10 meters from the beach & yoga platform & pool and restaurant. I was happy for earplugs, though, thanks to the active birds and incessant waves. I was hoping for a gecko or lizard in the bedroom, but no such luck. They must have been having too much fun outside. Yoga I took 4 yoga classes after not having done yoga in many years. It was so beautiful, overlooking the ocean while I tried (and failed) to hold my poses. On the first two days, I had terrible back pain from the airplane journey, but the yoga stopped the back pain and helped loosen up my hips. One of the nice things about the yoga platform is that the equipment is available to use even when there isn't an active class. Pool Usually, pools at dive resorts are too cold to play in or too small for the kids to stay entertained in, but the Siddhartha pool was the perfect temperature, always clean, and had variations in depth that kept the kids happy. One of the most remarkable things we found was the lack of rules. At Siddhartha, we were given so much flexibility that it felt like a truly relaxing and free holiday for us all. The kids were allowed in the pool at night, the pool bar stayed open until the last person left, and we didn't have people telling us what to do/what not to do like in some of the bigger resorts. Staff The staff were all so friendly and helpful and welcoming. I don't even know where to start. The restaurant staff, the check-in staff, the pool and bar staff, the spa staff, the dive shop staff, the driver on our excursions - they were all so warm and welcoming and lovely. Even though our family was large and somewhat lively, we were made to feel incredibly welcome every step of the way. I very much hope that we get a chance to return to Siddhartha Dive Resort in Bali one day soon. 10 days wasn't nearly enough. Thank you to Barbara and the entire staff for a truly wonderful family holiday.

This place is absolutely incredible. Stunning villas, outstanding food and the spa treatments are the best ever. Fantastic on-site diving team too (you can even do reef diving right from the hotel). I would happily recommend the place to anyone, hope I’ll be back.

I stayed here recently and it was one of my favorite places to stay in Bali (I've stayed in many). The bungalow was spacious and clean and ours had an ocean view ( which I highly recommend). The pool was just a short walk away and although the resort is on the ocean, it was wonderful to soak in the large pool with an amazing view of Mt. Agung facing one direction and the Ocean in the other direction. The food was wonderful. I had daily massages at the spa. They were divine. The service was great. I can't wait to return, hopefully one day soon! I highly recommend

Beautiful resort, food, staff and infinity pool! The rooms and outdoor shower are amazing, especially the waterfall shower! Barbara (Manager) is friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble (plus a wicked sense of humour!) Dive centre is great and well managed. Highly recommend the chips and potato croquets as a snack by the pool! Sad to leave and definitely coming back, thank you all at the resort!

Wow… just wow! Everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations, we felt so welcomed and nurtured and taken care of. Beautiful rooms and property. Everything was very clean and taken care of. The house reef is spectacular as well as the other nearby diving sites. Also: Best French fries in Bali! We ordered a few baskets every day, perfect post-dive snack! We will be back for more!
