I stayed at the at the Duncan Hotel for while attending a conference at Yale. I was looking for a less expensive alternative, and found the Duncan. It is an older, historic hotel, so the rooms are a little irregular, but the bed and the bathroom were good, and all was reasonably clean. The internet in the room was fine....

The hotel is doing its job with providing comfortable bed and daily house keeping. It doesn't offer much else, and you shouldn't rely on it on anything but the accommodation. Also, the staff are very nice.

We stayed at the Duncan over Parents Weekend when everything else under $360 a night was booked. We loved the experience but it won't be to everyone's taste. It has its charms but it is slightly eccentric. The closest thing I can think of to compare it to (in the best possible way) is the British sit com, Fawlty Towers,...

I've been staying at the Duncan now for about a decade, having relocated coasts and returning to visit family whom I love. There is no way I could afford to do this except for the Duncan whose price for a single person is modest and really not much more when my wife joins me. It's clean and the staff is...

Hotel Duncan has reasonably priced weekly rates and I needed something flexible, so I went for it. Stayed there for three months. But you get what you pay for. Rooms are run down and not properly cleaned, towels smell of bleach so I used my own instead. It may still be a reasonable deal if you are not staying there...

I was stranded in New Haven during the Jan snow storm. My flight was cancelled and had to find a hotel in the last minute. I was told that Duncan Hotel doesn't need reservation, and always has rooms. So I walked over and checked in. Contrary to all the bad publicity about this hotel--that it is the cheapest in town,...

I love the crazy atmosphere at the Duncan. It's not the most luxurious, but luxury makes me uncomfortable. Its cheap and real. And comfortable and atmospheric. I love the location and the kind of silly ultra exclusive feel to it. Only the insiders are accepted, and I'm not one of those, but I know many of those who are....ok, it's...

My wife booked this hotel for our 1 night stay in New Haven on a road trip through Connecticut. When we checked in, the gentleman gave us the option of an air conditioned room or one without AC, but with a good view. We opted for the view. While the temperature of the room was a little warm, the bell...

I stayed next door at The Study for several days before going to visit roots in Washington Ct and when back down to New Haven the Study was fully booked. So I went to the Duncan where I used to stay when a student. It was like a time warp but the price was right, the desk clerk fun to...

The Duncan is a great little hotel, clean, comfortable, Wfi readily available. Every staff member with whom I came in contact was friendly and helpful, willing to stop and chat and find an answer to all my questions. The room rate, of course, can't be beat. I hope I have reason to visit New Haven again.
