If you are traveling to New Haven, Ct. and need a good place to stay which isn't a hotel, I highly recommend the Austin Street Inn. This inn has been remodeled with very thoughtful restoration and is handicapped accessible. The rooms are clean and furnished with antiques. Breakfast is always prompt and delicious. We had a great time there! Candace is a wonderful hostess ! She really takes care of you! I have a gluten allergy and she bought me really good pastries and bread for my breakfast! The fruits were fresh and delicious ! The house is beautiful and we had a huge room with a wonderful bathroom and a big living...

From website, I had expected the Austin Street Inn to be a gracious historic New England gem in a picturesque area. This was not the case. In fact, when I arrived, I had to check the address to make sure I was in the right place. The Inn is in right the middle of a rather run down urban neighborhood....

We stayed 3 nights while in New Haven for our son's graduation from Yale. There were some positives and negatives with the Austin Street Inn. First, the positives. This is an older house that has been remodeled. It is clean and quiet. Our room was spacious, the bathroom well done, and the bed was excellent. Note there are no televisions...

We enjoyed a great stay in that guesthouse with its extremely comfortable rooms and the nice public area in the basement which can be used by all guests. Rebecca prepared a great breakfast and gave us lots of helpful tips regarding the city. Don´t worry about the distance from downtown - it is absolutely worth it and incomparable to all...
