I call it vanilla because it was nothing spectacular or unusual. Nice renovated old building, clean and well-kept, carpets and some of the hallways appear a little dated but the room was first rate, clean, modern, probably as well equipped with connectivity is any other...More
We stayed at the New Haven Hotel as part of a wedding block. Higher end hotel. Very comfortable. Very clean. Decent size room for moving around. Spent two very peaceful nights. It’s on a one way street which made it hard for the shuttle bus....More

A nice and very well located hotel. Just a few yards away from nice restaurant spots in New Haven. Nice clean rooms, friendly staff and complimentary cheese and wine. Parking places in the lot just across the street.
The New Haven Hotel is located about a half mile from Union Station. It would be about a 15 minute walk however we would recommend a taxi. Thank you.

If you're used to Dublin, then I would say that New Haven in and around the Yale Campus is very safe. They have so many campus police there you can tour Yale at all hours and feel safe. Visit restaurants and bars near the NHH and you'll probably be as safe as Dublin. Go several miles out to the outlying neighborhoods, and like anywhere, there could be trouble. For sure, downtown New Haven doesn't have even one tenth the crime of Detroit, MI; St. Louis, MO; Oakland, CA or even Santa Ana, CA 10 miles from me! I felt very safe.
