We booked a little last-minute romantic getaway and were pleased to find such affordable accommodations right across the street from Gouveia Vineyards! The B&B is owned and run by a lovely older couple, whose pride in their historic home is contagious. The room - I chose the Thai Suite based on the description on their site. It had a private...

The High Meadow is quite nice. Not as elegant as some other inns, but reasonably priced. We stayed in the Master Suite, which had a bedroom and sitting room. The hosts are very, very nice, and live in the house. the breakfasts included fruit and eggs with sausage or bacon and home-made bread, juice and coffee. We went to Wallingford...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Brae Cottage this past weekend. We met with Nancy (the owner) upon our arrival. Nancy was very kind and helpful and gave us a short tour of the house. We arrived in the early evening so we didn't have too much time to relax before having to head out again to have a...

We stayed in the very comfortable and private Thai Suitedecorated with beautiful Thai ceramics and fabrics. Our hosts provided us with wonderful, filling breakfasts and also made good recommendations for dinners. They shared the recipe for the particularly memorable blueberry stuffed French toast. We were in the area doing family history and they went out of there way to help...

We have stayed at High Meadow repeatedly over the past six years, while our children attended nearby Choate Rosemary Hall. We are so glad we found it! The setting is absolutely idyllic, beautiful rolling farm meadows, old stone walls, and a small lake down the hill. The sunrises are wonderful, as are the stars at night. The main house is...

We recently stayed here at High Meadows and what a unique experience it was. We loved it but I must warn you, if being surrounded by hundreds of acres of farmland and woods makes you nervous think again. If the sight of whitetails feeding out in the gathering dusk bores you find another place. If flying out on a rope...

We stayed in the Thai Suite for a spontaneous getaway. The farmhouse itself is charming and the setting is serene. The Thai suite steps away from the colonial period into another country- the owners have decorated with their lovely collection of Asian pottery. Bob and Nancy are very friendly and their dog is very well-behaved. The breakfast (a blueberry stuffed...

We were in town for a wedding and stayed one night. It was our first Bed & Breakfast experience. It felt so warm and inviting, like we were staying with family. The Thai Suite was so private with its own entrance and bathroom. We awoke to birds singing and dew on the grass and the smell of bacon cooking upstairs....

We stayed in the Master Suite to celebrate our anniversary and had a great time! The owners were friendly and accommodating and made an AMAZING breakfast! They are very warm and welcoming in sharing their home and know quite a bit about the history as well.

We planned a one night get-away and found this beautiful bed & breakfast, right across the street from a vineyard. We stayed in the Thai Suite. Gorgeous and very clean. The hosts are very friendly and full of ideas on what to do in the area. We visited the vineyard next door and another about 2 miles away. Wonderful experience....

“There is one separate cottage on the property that has its own kitchen if you don't want to eat in the main house. The price is also less if breakfast is not provided by the owners. But I'd always opt for their breakfast.”

“Just for fun, I would like to try all of the rooms in turn. Brae Cottage also looks heavenly. The Blue Room was great, very quiet. Bring a good book!”
