This place is wonderful for winding off. The lawns are well kept and the food is great. I did not like their breakfast though, very pedestrian. Its quiet and they keep some wild animals roaming the lawns not sure whether they are Dick Dicks or not. Its far from everything else in a river basin so get all your supplies...

The food here was great and the ambiance was very nice with superb views of Mt Meru and a stream running through the grounds. The kids loved the swimming pool. Rooms are neat and clean all overlooking the manicured garden and views of Mt Meru

As we had a long flight to reach Tanzania we op[ted for a quiet day before our road safari. The Lodge is about 40 minutes from Kilimanjaro Airport and is quiet and peaceful with a nice, if rather cold, pool. Food and service excellent and rooms are basic but nice. Lots of wildlife to see in the grounds.

Closer to JRO airport and avoids going into Arusha. We stayed here one night, our first night in Tanzania, before a safari. I would stay here again. A beautifully landscape property with the lodge and rooms pristine in cleanliness and comfort. The rooms were spacious, immaculate and comfortable. It's The closest you will see dikdiks, small antelope, which are not...

This lodge was not the first choice of our travel agency. However, we found it pretty good, especially with regard to the garden, the dik dik and monkeys that were circulating freely and the very nice lobby and restaurant. Less positive notes regard the status of the pool's facilities, including the shower and the matrasses of the sunbeds, and the...

Just came from Arumeru River Lodge. We started and ended our safari there. A beautiful, comfortable place immaculately maintained. A long, bumpy driveway brings you to the lodge. The grounds are beautifully manicured with little dik-diks, gorgeous birds, beautiful butterflies and leopard tortoises roaming the grounds. Lovely pool. Nice accommodations with plenty of space and a little porch with seating...

What a great place to start our first ever trip to Africa, and of course, Tanzania. Arumeru Lodge is a wonderfully relaxing compound, and make no mistake, it is a compound, with incredible gardens filled with Dik Diks (don't ask, just go to Tanzania) and monkeys. You will find yourself completely entertained by the local animals. Bret, the manager, his...

Beautiful grounds and a peaceful gate away from the main town's rush. But could do better on accommodating day guests that are there for a swim or short stay to just unwind and relax. It ended up feeling like only in house guests were welcomed there with limited menu when we asked.

Dear Vecky, Thank you very much for your kind comments on our property. We are very sorry that you did not feel welcome, but YES we do charge a little pool fee from day guests that visit our hotel pool. When two of our employees came to me after you had sent them away quite strictly, I tried to explain...

We started our 2 weeks family trip here at the Arumeru River Lodge and I'm so glad we did. The staff is wonderful. They recommended visiting a local village that's known for harvesting organic coffee. Samwell from Wild Tracks was delightful! He was patient and thoughtful answering my kids 1,000,000 questions and brought us on a tour of his quiet...
