Having booked a weekend at this hotel I was concerned by some of the negative reviews. As it turned out I should not have been. The hotel is clean but dated in some of the lounge areas. The team were welcoming and there were lots of them. There was a queue at the bar on Saturday evening but there were a lot of people around. The food was good at breakfast and in the evening. The golf course is challenging. I will be returning.

Typical hotel layout at this level of hotel. Could be any brand as the room did not have the usual Marriott touches other than the branded bathroom bottles of wash items. Was planning to go to the pool but from the reception it sound like a zoo of young ones screaming so we gave it a miss. Reasonable breakfast but not the top notch Marriott standard but ok. Good location for visiting Kent but the bar and restaurant, like other Marriott golf resorts was full loud drinks gather around tables. Functional but not a place fir a night out. Easy access and plenty of parking. Worth it if you can get a good rate as clean and tidy. Please like if this helped.

On arrival room was cold ,and Oposite laundry room, no dressing gowns or slippers, , 2 extremely tiny bottles of water in room , tbh at £242 I’d expect better , the massage was good but the spa didn’t even have a jacuzzi and the steam room wasn’t very hot and was tiny , max 6 people, the water machine for drinks in spa had no cups so couldn’t use, then room service was ordered at 945pm , burger and fries , didn’t arrive until 1055pm , when I asked why so long I was told they forgot about us , I asked if it was still warm and told they RE-grilled it , not acceptable, 3 hours later my Wifie was throwing up for 2 hours , then rung reception for help and paracetamol but told none were on site , then she walked to reception for water , in the morning the buffet breakfast was luke warm again not acceptable, I mentioned to manager about room service and he knocked food and soft drinks off the bill , but tbh the room was not 4 star and dated like the hotel in my opinion, I’ve stayed in better travel lodges for a quarter of the price and been more happy 😃, I haven’t done my trip advisor’ yet but this is what il be writing, I wouldn’t even stay there again if it was free , very disappointed ☹️

My partner and I stayed here after a wedding in the local area. The actual room itself was fine, a bit tired but perfectly comfortable, clean and suitable for our stay (much like any other Marriott hotel that is yet to be modernised). The reception team were very nice and allowed me to check in early which was much appreciated. The breakfast service really let the side down. We initially asked for room service and we were told the kitchen was too busy. I queried why cooking breakfast for us in our room was any different to them cooking us breakfast if we were sat in the dining room and was not given an answer that made any sense. So we went down for breakfast and ended up waiting in a queue for about 10-15 minutes to get a table (and there were plenty of available tables that we could see). They appeared to be quite short staffed as we had to ask for things when they ran out (like crockery / glassware). We also had to ask for hot drinks as no one came to offer us any and there was no self-service for tea or coffee. It's a shame as these things are quite easily managed, particularly when the hotel knows how many guests they have staying.

Typical Marriott: uninspiring architecture and (for leisure travellers) locations, and included "spa" facilities (often inaccessible to hotel guests as prebooked for clubs etc). But, they do provide freely accessible ice machines as standard and most/all rooms have fridges and ice buckets. This Marriott is a modern low rise building with a large car park, a golf course and a leisure centre on the A20 just outside Maidstone. Our room was a superior "twin with terrace". The "terrace" was a paved area/roadway outside with a small space and a patio table with two chairs enclosed by potted hedge plants. Room size was average/small, decorative state and servicing good, and beds comfortable. The fridge temperature inside was tepid rather than cold. At least the could be and inside the fridge to cool it a bit. Personal bathroom toiletries were provided, and shower temperature and pressure were first rate. Bath towel size seems to have shrunk since our last Marriott stay. I'm not sure if the supplied bathrobe and slippers were part of the "superior" room package or are standard. The tea/coffee tray had a nespresso machine and the coffee pods was adequate, but the biscuit allocation seems to have been halved since our last Marriott stay - only one packet with two biscuits instead of two – just mean. Meals; our experiences with breakfast and especially dinner were disappointing. Meals: breakfast buffet choice was much reduced compared to our pre-Covid stays at other Marriotts. In the evening we were turned away from the restaurant which had been occupied by a coach party apparently for its own use. We ordered in-room service instead. The meal was only adequate (e.g. tepid food, no serviettes) although the tray charge was waived which was only right. We might possibly stay again but would opt for a standard room as the premium for the “superior” seems poor value, would check in advance which of the bars and restaurants is actually open, and would probably eat elsewhere.
