I'd give it a 2.5/5.0 They just renovated most of the hotel. The new decor is lovely.. We had two rooms. One had a bathroom floor that was old and falling apart but generally very clean and the rest of the bed and bathroom looked pretty new and clean. The second room had all new everything along with long black hair all over the bathroom that was impossible to miss. Overall Pros: - Three block walk to the beach is very convenient. HUGE plus. HUGE. - Passes for beach chairs and umbrella. Also really nice. - Nice decor choices - Generally a very good location Cons - Poor communication about breakfast, chair, umbrella rentals being free -Breakfast is beyond packed and just prepackaged muffins and day old biscuits, I'd recommend skipping it for one of the two donut shops next door. -Rooms not consistently renovated or cleaned - Parking is $25 a day. We were charged for two cars even though we only had one and sometimes we couldn't find any parking at all for hours and had to leave car by front door until something opened up (leaving another guest without a spot) -Generally, it seems like nobody is really in charge. Staff is very friendly but seem overwhelmed. -DOGS BARK DAY AND NIGHT! - AC units are really old and blast cold air then wait for room to heat up and goes on again. It's not only loud but the room is hot, cold, hot, cold. TIP - If you leave the AC unit fan on all the time, you do not notice the change in noise level when sleeping. It's then consistent noise and not too bad. We chose to make it really cold and bundle up so we only had cold, very cold, cold, very cold. Trust me - it's easier to just bundle up and stay that way then put covers on and off every few minutes all night. We definitely had a nice trip and the hotel was not a low point at all. We cleaned up the gross hairs, found other breakfast options, let our kid skip naps and go to bed late until there was a break in the barking. It just seemed like for the price - they could have done a bit more. I don't really care about not having housekeeping but it does seem like they should at least have a way to get you new towels and remove trash. Throwing trash the hall (the hotel policy) meant the halls don't look very clean and the look of the interior is supposed to be the big draw but it's ruined by trash piles. I'd stay here but I would probably look around at other options next time too. I'm hoping they are still just working out the kinks.…
Nice hotel, great customer service. Michael at the front desk was amazing and so eager to help! Great vacation! Loved the rooms and the pool was a lot of fun. Very clean and great location only blocks from downtown Bethany and one block from the beach.
My boyfriend and I went for a last minute weekend trip at the beach and had a great stay! Everyone that works there is so friendly and nice. You get a voucher for mini golf and an umbrella and beach chairs at the beach, and they make it easy to go to the beach and use their amenities before or after your check-in/check-out. Highly recommend!
Loved Hotel Bethany, such a nicely new and remodeled find in Bethany Beach. The staff was very helpful, kind and accommodating from Mike at the front desk to the sweet lady at breakfast in the morning. We will definitely be coming again, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is newly remodeled and offers amazing perks like - beach chairs and umbrellas, mini golf discount. The hotel is clean and updated with the new renovation. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is in an ideal location and nice to have a pool.
We enjoyed our stay including the pool, the breakfast, and the extras such as free games of mini-golf. Very clean, staff were helpful, and our room was comfortable. I would recommend the hotel to any family.
Hotel Bethany Beach is a nice cozy hotel conveniently located near great restaurants, quick beach access and more. The hotel also offers a few perks to location restaurants, the beach and mini golf. The voucher for the beach umbrella and chairs came in handy. It was a super HOT weekend.
We had an overall positive experience at Hotel Bethany Beach on a recent visit, but think that people planning to stay there need to watch out for extra fees. Our room was good-sized and very clean. All of the rooms were recently renovated. Our only complaint involving the room is that the cable TV is very confusing to use. Most of the stations don't identify the channel, but only are listed by number. You have to go through the stations one-by-one to find out what the channel is and some are scrambled. Breakfast is included but is pretty basic. The same instant eggs were offered every day and there was little variation in what was served. The hotel definitely needs to improve the breakfast. There is a very nice outdoor pool, which we enjoyed swimming in. The beach is only a short two block walk away. The hotel offers vouchers for free umbrella and beach chair rentals on the beach, which is a nice touch. It also offers vouchers for a free game of miniature golf nearby, which is another nice feature that we took advantage of. Our main complaint is that they charge $25 daily for parking in peak season! Hardly any other hotels in the area charge for parking, and it's hard sometimes to find a parking spot! They also add a 15% resort fee onto the bill. This no doubt covers the free beach rentals and mini golf games, but it adds a lot to the bill! If you want the room to be serviced, it's an extra $25 a day! So this is a good hotel that's newly renovated and close to the beach, but watch out for the extra fees!…
I stayed at this location many times when it was a Holiday Inn Express. Hotel Bethany Beach as it is now called, was very disappointing. The front desk generally was unfriendly. We had one person who was very nice and unfortunately I do not have her name. The hotel advertised having sound-proof rooms, however we heard a baby crying early in the morning, either in the room beside us or in the hallway. We had to ask for drinking cups/glasses and other items. I have never encountered a hotel where you were charged a fee to park your vehicle, having travelled extensively in the US and other countries. Luckily we only needed to stay for one night, however if we had wanted our room cleaned it would have been an extra charge unless you stayed three nights. I understand that most hotels only clean during COVID times upon request or after leaving, but never a charge to do so was attached. We visit Bethany Beach at least three times a year and I will never stay at this Hotel again.…
