Unfortunately, our experience at the Atlantic Oceanside was strongly disappointing The building (meaning common areas, hallways, stairs, decks, doors) is overall dirty, rusty, stained, and musty. Our room itself (213) and the shower were satisfactory, but the toilet was loose and it rocked each time one sat on it! The building is in desperate need of maintenance (preventive and repairs) and deep cleaning. The bathroom and A/C vents are clogged and filthy. Literally, it was disgusting to hold on to the stair’s handrails. We didn’t have water Saturday morning, but not their fault; there was a problem with the water heater or something and it got fixed relatively quickly. The highest concerning situation happened Saturday at 3am when our dog wanted to go out to pee. We were not able to unlock the door of our room! We tried several times but the bolt was stuck. I called the reception desk several times and nobody answered. We got into a panic and were ready to call 911 when my husband brought a metal knife to force the lock! They include a good continental breakfast, but the space is small, gets crowded and it’s hard to move around. They offer muffins, mini bagels, and cupcakes but there’s only one 4-slice toaster. On Sunday morning we found 4 or 5 moldy muffins. ~~ We chose this hotel because of its location — an easy walk to the beach/ shops & restaurants, plenty of parking, pet-friendly, and a nice fridge & microwave. It could really be a great place if cleaned and well maintained. The employees and facility team, most of them, were courteous, friendly, and responsive, especially in replacing the lock of our room and throwing away the moldy muffins to bring fresh ones! Only the person at check-in lacked customer service skills and manners.…
My husband I and our 2 Dogs Barron and Linus Always have a wonderful vacation when we stay at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel. The staff is very kind courteous and professional. In addition the staff members go out of their way to make your visit comfortable. Thank you Atlantic Oceanside!
We had a great stay with a clean room. The staff was accommodating when we needed new towels. The breakfast was a nice way to get the morning started. It is a nice place if you have a dog in seeing other guests caring for their pets and also the office having dog biscuits as a treat.Best part is its location to the beach. Being in the middle of Dewey, there are wonderful restaurants either direction you walk. Family had a fun vacation! Thanks Atlantic Oceanside!
Hotel room is ok. It’s your basic room. The hotel staff were very nice. The location is AMAZING!!!! It’s so close to beach and restaurants. You are literally on the sand in a few short minutes. We had a great time and 100% would return!
We stayed for 4 days in July. It was peak season, yet they had a skeleton staff because, according to their own front desk clerk, most of them had quit. That included cleaning staff. They screwed up our reservation (through hotels.com) and double charged us, which they had to correct. The room was functional. No balconies. Windows did not open. But clean enough. Clientele was somewhat raw, lots of smokers. Parking spaces were painted extra thin to allow for more vehicles... at the cost of no room to enter/exit your car. I would not stay there again. We spent most days walking around in Rehoboth. The only reason we stayed in Dewey was because we wanted to bring our dog. The pet-accessible beach hours in the mornings and evenings are a lot of fun. But beware... if you're over 30, Dewey after 5pm, or basically anytime, is not great... just not great.…
In town for a baseball tournament and chose to stay closer to the ocean than the fields and we were very happy we did! A block to the beach. There is a bar across the street that was loud at night though.
Room was dirty bed spread had hole in it Office closed due to no staff would not recommend was unable to get coffee, When checking in had no assistance to find room just pointed down their had too clean room checked out move to hotel down the street that was 100 percent better
Shelley has been so helpful. We left a ring when we left and she has offered to mail it to us in Baltimore. We are so appreciative! We highly recommend Atlantic Oceanside!! Everything was great with our stay and the front desk staff was very helpful!
We booked this on a whim for a quick getaway semi close to home. The reviews on here seemed decent so I went with it and they had an outdoor pool which was a plus for us. We got there early before check in to enjoy the beach. That lasted for about an hour. The tide was so bad it came up the entire shore and the beach disappeared. Mother Nature right? We figured we can just sit by the pool until the room was ready. What a joke! It was so small and crowded. There weren’t any chairs for the 3 of us to sit together, people were vaping in the pool area and others were smoking cigarettes right outside the gate to the pool. The pool itself was filthy, cloudy water and not once did I see anyone come check the pH of the water! Once the room was finally ready I realized what a total dump this place was. The beds were soft, pillows flat and just a shoddy job trying to make it look presentable. It gave me “motel” feels not the “resort” experience they advertise right in their name! The ONLY perk of this place was its close proximity to the beach. I would not recommend.…
Easy walk to the beach. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean the beds were comfortable. Convenient location. Within walking distance to restaurants Perfect setup for two people. Allowed the dog which was helpful.
