Our third time here as guests. What a romantic spot! Used to be the village where the families who worked at Winterthur lived. Here to meet with friends who live nearby in DC. It is the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. The soecisk atmosphere and superb food at their Krazy Kats restaurant will draw you back here again and... More

We have stayed at the Inn on 3 occasions over the last year, including this week for our anniversary. The rooms are so comfortable and well appointed. This stay, we were in the Morgan cottage directly across from the main house. It has a beautiful 1st floor sitting room, with a fireplace, well supplied kitchenette with coffee maker, lovely selection... More

We stayed at the Dupont (pictured above) for our 2nd year anniversary. Absolutely the most cozy, charming Inn we have experienced! Loved the Village itself with the gardens and walkways...our room had everything we needed (didn't want to leave!). Many Wineries in the area to visit as well as the Longwood Gardens. We will certainly return!

I came upon this charming Inn because I couldn't find a hotel room in Philadelphia, and now it will be my go-to place when I am in the area. I pulled up to this charming inn on a stormy night hoping for a comfortable nights rest during a recent business trip. When I pulled in, there were groups of buildings,... More

We stayed first time at the Inn at Montchanin in 2007, so it is so nice to come back and experience that the Inn is as charming, as quaint, and as high quality in every aspect as we remembered it to be now 9 years later! So often memory deceives you when coming back, but not so at Montchanin! The... More

One of the most beautiful room interiors I've chanced upon in a hotel, the paintings, rugs, chairs and decor harken to an American colonial-era sensibility. This reflects much of the appeal of the surrounding locale's historic gardens and museums, many of which owe their existence to the largesse of the wealthy Dupont clan preserving the landscapes they cultivated. The Inn... More

Outstanding customer service, quiet, and charming. The "village" is a unique setting in the Brandywine River Valley. Unfortunately the wait time for a brunch table was too long for us so we drove into town, other than that, a lovely stay.

We stayed 1 night as we were visiting the DuPont mansions and gardens. Check in service was quick but they offered no details of the area or info on amenities of the property - not even the wifi information. Our room looked like a studio apt. that was decorated from the 1970’s - no historic charm. Beige carpet, cheap looking... More

We enjoyed our stay at Inn at Montchanin Village. The staff are all friendly and super helpful. We were able to get spa appointments (everything but nails) at the last minute and this small spa is very good. We ate several times at Krazy Kat's restaurant and enjoyed every meal. The rooms are in historic buildings so there are steep... More

First off, can I just say what a beautiful property! Such a hidden gem even for locals in the area! The front desk staff was AMAZING.
