Perfect. Sleepy lil town very quaint. Definitely a repeat. The Old Carrabelle was a wonderful stay. Beautiful house. Enjoyed the Key West style. Visited St Georges island as well. Very nice. Clean pet friendly beaches.

We stayed in the Magnolia room. Comfy and roomy. We never met the proprietor, we found an envelope with instructions in mailbox. The place was clean and quiet. We were given a voucher for breakfast, however, we left early the next day so didn't use it. We would stay there again.

Next trip: remind us of your unused voucher, and we'll give you a replacement. You see, for you young party animals who can't make it up at breakfast time, they are usable for any other meal during the day! And we appreciate your nice comments.

The rooms were just the right size, comfortable bed. They give a $7 pp voucher for breakfast at nearby restaurants as they do not cook. We sat out on the covered upstairs porch during the rain. Carrabelle is a small town but we loved it! I would recommend this hotel for everyone if you love quiet, quaint and clean! We...

My wife and I have been to this hotel twice in the last nine months and we are already planning our next few visits. This hotel may be misunderstood by some people because it's not a normal hotel or B&B, but for my wife and I for what we need in our stay, it's perfect. The Old Carrabelle Hotel is...

We're speechless. Couldn't have written it better ourselves! :) So glad to hear from people who "get it" where our place, and our service attitude, is concerned. Come back soon!

The hotel is nice, but not placed near the water, and a decent beach is a 10 min drive away, but have the say it's decorated in good taste. Skip who is the in keeper could do with improving his people skills. On arrival we missed the correct entrance and found skip, who took pleasure in talking to us like...

There is no excuse for poor people skills in this business. However...Sitting outside on the porch with the door open to enjoy the A/C outside in Florida: that would raise any innkeeper's blood pressure. Cost containment is how we keep the rates where they are, and we haven't raised them in over 13 years. Area Code 45 is Denmark, perhaps...

This hotel was built as a personal home in 1880. So, you get a very old fashioned southern vibe. The room was small but the huge bathroom more than made up for it. We stayed in the Magnolia room on the second floor. There was an upstairs porch adjacent to the room so we could sit out there and enjoy...

Hi, Hidden Gem! We appreciate the nice words, and you are among thousands (in 15 years) who have had great experiences in our little bit of the Forgotten Coast. We have to say, however, that we can explain the A/C thing. We are between seasons now (a very strange weather year), so in fact the system was on "heat" while...

The reviews were of this property were very over rated. Landscape, especially palm trees, have been neglected. Bed in Magnolia Room was not quality comfort nor pillows or covers. It was clean but limited lighting (none in closet or entrance to bathroom) owners were kind enough to leave us alone. If you can't even change the clock in your guest...

We recently had the pleasure of staying in the Winchester Cottage, which is a very nicely and tastefully updated 1930's Florida cottage just up the road from the main hotel. The cottage has 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a great connected living room and dining room, and a well updated kitchen along with off-street parking. The 3rd bedroom also includes a...

Loved this place! Skip was a gracious host. The town feels like small towns in the 1960's. The room was tiny but homey and comfortable. It was very clean and the bed was great. It's a lovely couples or ladies retreat.

We appreciate the nice notes! The room size was one of our greatest challenges in the 2001 remodeling. It seems that in 1900, there was no such thing as a queen bed, they had twins or "standard" beds. In two of the rooms, the beds had to be set at 45 degrees so that the doors could open! A very...

We have been staying in nearby towns for years and wanted to try a different setting. The accommodations and grounds were beautiful. The hotel has a great - low key vibe. Skip and Kathy have created a gem in Carrabelle. Within walking distance of many great restaurants and shops. Lovely

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Old Carrabelle Hotel in Carrabelle, Florida is a "Key West style inn on The Forgotten Coast". Once the end-of-the-line railroad hotel, now you may enjoy all the modern comforts in an Old Florida casual atmosphere. There is just something about the experience of a 1900-ish inn at the coast (or a coastal cottage at the coast) that no newer motel-hotel can equal. And we are a very different B&B operation - free beach restaurant breakfasts for Hotel guests, and self check-in -- just for starters. Make your own reservation online, and receive back a confirmation with all the info you may need. Don't Expect: traffic lights, lots of people, McHamburgers, bungee jumps or late-night noise. Do expect: the best seafood, eco-activity opportunities in every direction, cultural/historical activities and a lot of peace and quiet time on the property, in the forest or on the beach or water! ... more   less
