Hilton Vacation Club Mystic Dunes Orlando attracts visitors with its spacious, clean rooms and multiple pools, which many guests appreciate. However, opinions on the hotel's rooms and atmosphere are split, with some finding them outdated or lacking in security, while others enjoy the comfort and space. The hotel's location garners praise, though some guests suggest the concierge service could be more knowledgeable.
Service experiences vary, with reports of both attentive staff and long waits. While the hotel's value is questioned by some due to hidden fees and dated facilities, others consider it reasonably priced.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
We traveled for a soccer tournament at Disney's Wide World of Sports. I chose this hotel 1) because of the price (cheapest around) and 2) because of the space you get. I don't like being crammed into one room for a week with my husband and 2 kids. I also like to cook a few meals to save some money. This fit the bill!
I wasn't sure if we were able to book here since it was a Vacation Club, I didn't know if you had to be a member, but I called and they advised that you do not need to be a member. I was concerned, based on reviews, of the wait at check in, and then the "pitch" to buy a time share. We did wait quite a bit at check in, 20 minutes to pre-check in (we arrived before check in but were able to pre-check and then they texted us when our room was ready) and then probably another 30-40 when our room was ready to actually get our keys, but because of the reviews, we were prepared for the wait so it didn't seem that bad. The welcome center is very clean, and the employees were extremely nice. We had a large group of 5 families so I asked if we could be put near each other, they did their best. 3 families were in the next building, a few were the next group of buildings over and then a few more were in other buildings, but no one super far.
The Pitch wasn't terrible, after pre-check in, they sent us to the Concierge for a parking pass. Concierge gave her schpeal but we just declined. They did call the room every day to try to pitch it again, we just stopped answering the phone. Overall, not super annoying.
The room was great! So much space. We have 2 kids 12 and 9, and my husband and myself. The kids room had 2 queen beds, we had a king. The kids beds were extremely comfortable, and they had more than enough room for themselves and their stuff. They had their own bathroom, too.
Our bed was awful, but I have a bad back and it didn't flare me up so that's good for me. It definitely needs to be changed, though. The pillows were fine. Our bathroom was MASSIVE. We had a handicapped room, I wasn't sure if the extra space was for a wheel chair or that's just how the rooms were set up. We had 2 showers, the kids also had their own, so 3 showers total. Again, not sure if this was due to it being a handicapped room or how all the rooms are. Plenty of towels.
The kitchen was small, and minimally equipped with a few pots, pans, a baking sheet, a casserole dish, strainer, huge bowl, small bowl, plates, bowls, silverware, cups, and a few cooking utensils. Also included a stove and range, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, and full size fridge. It was enough for us for the week. We ran to Walmart, which is super close, and got a few quick cooking items. Definitely saved us a ton of money vs. going out every meal.
They provided coffee, but I opted to buy coffee filters and coffee at Walmart because I'm slightly picky about coffee. It was a full size coffee maker, not a Keurig.
The kitchen also had a washer-dryer combo, but I know a few of our families had a stackable. Either way, it was useful as it rained ALL weekend for the soccer tournament and we did probably about 5 loads of laundry and used the dryer option quite often to dry our clothes. I love having a washer/dryer when traveling!
The living room was nice, simple, but nice. The couch was comfortable. I believe it folded out, we never did it but there was a set up for it in the closet. There were 2 chairs, plus the dining room table. The kitchen also had an overhang where there were a couple stools. Plenty of seating for everyone!
There was a lanai, which we sat on quite often. It was totally screened in so we were able to keep the doors open for fresh air.
Lastly there was plenty of closet space. One when you first walk in, one in the kids room and one in our room. Plenty of space to store our luggage so we weren't tripping over them all week.
The grounds were immaculate. There were at least 4 (heated) pools. The pool nearest us had a water slide, I'm not sure if they all did. The slide attendant was SO nice and friendly. Remembered our kids every time they went. There was also a tiki bar, although the wait for drinks was kind of ridiculous, and overpriced, but delicious for the couple we got. They also had cabanas for rent, we didn't rent one but a few were open and they had table, chairs, and a tv. Woudl be great during the hot summer!
We also played pickleball (we brought our own, but they had them to borrow) and tennis (also available to borrow). There were plenty of games and activities to do. There was an activities schedule provided when you checked in. We didn't do any of them, because the kids got sick, but there was plenty of stuff to do and they looked fun. Some were free, some cost money.
We had a team dinner at the banquet room at Kenzies restaurant, just pizza salad and wings, it was super convenient and easy to work with Frank to set up. A little pricy for what we got, but the convenience made it worth it.
All in all I was super happy with this resort, and definitely would come back. Both of my kids got sick immediately off the plane, and a few days later the other kid picked it up. I was so thankful to have the extra room so they could sleep and we could still be up and watching TV, eating, etc. I was able to work with the free wifi, which was reliable. Texting for towels, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, etc, was so convenient. Clean. Very close to the parks. Plenty of (free) parking. We were there for 7 days, and they came mid-week to do a cleaning.
I'd absolutely recommend this resort!

We travel with three young kids, so the two bedroom condo was absolutely perfect for our needs. We were able to find a great deal on hotels.com, and will definitely look at this property in the future for trips to Disney. The check in process is a bit cumbersome, taking 15 minutes when only one person was in front of me. Definitely need to address that issue.
The hotel pizza was cheaper than Pizza Hut so next time we will definitely try room service

We rented a 1400'ish square foot suite for a really good price. So good that we decided to stay for two weeks while we visited Disney and Universal. The suite came with two bedrooms, full kitchen, dining area and two bathrooms. The master bath has no door other than the toilet closet so sleeping in is difficult if someone wants to take a shower. The back patio has a table and chairs and is screened in however some of the screen is broken. The suite was very quiet with only a few noises from our neighbors however noise from outside the entry door is very prevalent. The couch was very comfortable to sleep on. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a stacked washer and dryer. There is no carpet however there is a rug in the TV area. This made the suite echo. The entire facility seemed well kept with grounds crews visible working on cleaning. We visited three pools which were all great. The deepest portion was five feet. One pool had a small tube slide and a different pool had a sling for lowering people into the pool who have difficulty with stairs. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Disney is only about ten minutes away and Universal was around 30 min. We'd stay again. ** We found out after arriving that this place is actually a time share facility. We were not pushed into going to their time share meeting but went anyway just to see what it was like since we've never experienced one before. Be aware that they will probably tell you it's a two hour commitment however it's not. We had a five hour adventure! It could be two hours I guess if you did everything they said. Still, we weren't pressured... it just took a long time to read all the paperwork and sign things. Ultimately, we decided against it and were refunded sooner than they said we would.

After staying at two Diamond Resorts (this being the second), we're convinced they are overrated. Our issues with this stay:
1. The chemicals in the pool were so strong that they discolored our swimsuits (dark purple became pink and green became teal).
2. There are raccoons roaming the property day and night. When we reported one near our pool chairs, we were told his name is Pablo and we should probably move to other seats, but if we left him alone, he'd leave us alone.
3. The pushy sales are over the top. Having stayed at a Diamond Resort before, we were prepared for the pitch when we checked-in, but the clincher for us was the phone call we got AT 9:00 PM to get us to come to some sales thing. That is quite late for families with kids and just plain rude.
4. A gated community is only a benefit if the guards don't open the gate for you without seeing your card or knowing who you are. Sadly, these guards opened the gate with the quick flash of a debit card.
5. We called to request one additional packet of laundry detergent and were told it would be delivered within 30 minutes. After waiting an hour, we called back and it was finally delivered sometime within that second hour. Not a big deal overall, but when added to everything else, it gets to be too much.
Our condo was generally clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. The people in the activities center were helpful, but they were the only ones of those we interacted with.

Mystic dunes defines itself as a resort, but it is more like an average Airbnb with an overpriced resort fee. The highlight of our stay was the room, it is practical and comfortable for week long stays.
However, it has several cons. First, service is practically nonexistent, the only moment that people care for guests is when they try to lure guests to their timeshare sales sessions during checkin. Second, cleanliness standards are low, nobody cleans the rooms let alone change the linen or provide you with fresh towels (if you want a vacation where you are not supposed to clean then this isn’t the place for you). Third, recreation, even though Mystic Dunes mentions online that it has a lot of things to do (bike rental, pools, etc.) to be honest these are not great. Pools are in hard to reach secluded places and crowded with nothing to do and see around. Riding a bike through a suburb like area is also not great.
Some pros, location wise this is a good option. It is close to Disney Parks and has supermarkets and places to eat nearby. The rooms are comfortable and they do have everything you need.
However, there are plenty of better accommodation options nearby or even Airbnb’s when compared to Mystic dunes.

We've stayed at Mystic Dunes a few times and have never been disappointed with our overall experience. Staff has always been polite and accommodating. You can tell almost instantly when you drive in that they really try to maintain this property. Anyone that tells you differently is not telling it like it is. Perfect? No, but you really have to knit-pick this place to find the negatives. My family really enjoys this place, and it has become our official go-to for future trips to Orlando. We're sick of getting burned on rental houses and garbage resorts. It's nice to know that we can reserve a spot at MD and know we won't regret it.

This was a late booking as hotels near Championsgate were filling up ahead of a lacrosse tournament.
I could not have ‘wish listed’ a better place to stay. Our queen suite was just a bit more expensive than ‘bare minimum’ hotels elsewhere in the area.
The room was in “new” condition. The mattress was as comfortable as I have ever slept on. The kitchen area was unexpectedly large and completely equipped for 4.
The full sized washer and dryer “sealed the deal” since there was rain and plenty of wet and dirty clothes after the first day of the tournament.
I wish we had stayed longer.

The Mystic Dunes Resort and Golf Club amenities and location was great. Very close to Disney and 20 minute drive to Universal. The rooms were well maintained, however, they do not clean the rooms unless you stay 8 days or more. I was a bit disappointed the pool with the waterfall and slide was closed due to maintenance issue. Hopefully that is fixed now. The used the basketball court, and gym, which all was great.
The only reason why I gave it a 4 out of 5 was because the first day the lady tried to sell the timeshare to us and wouldnt accept no as an answer. I even called her to cancel since my family and I had already made plans but insisted to attend the timeshare meeting. I was charge $40 for missing it. What a waste. Therefore, during your check in, just ignore the area where they say they are going to give you free stuff. Just say no and do not sign anything.

I didnt use the pool, play golf, or eat here so this review is based on the room, and parking.
The location is 10 to 15 minutes near places to eat breakfast, and late night snacks etc which isnt too bad.
Once checking in we got harrassed to sign up for a 2 hr am tour of the resort in an attempt to sell us vacations which we later refused based on night one of our stay.
The room was on the third floor which was a short walk from the elevator. The room entrance door is heavy, slams hard, will keep you up all hours, and sadly will break a finger if your hand gets caught in it...no lie.
The room furniture was old, tvs had one remote, shower curtain had hair, and mold. Full kitchen which is a good thing but id never use it here. The bed was hard as a rock.
The internet........there is internet but its horrible. Two devices connected at once max. Thats if you can get on it. If your in need for service this is not the place!
Like to sleep past 8 am? Between the doors slamming, lawmowers etc..dont count on it.
Parking...well the is parking, yet its always full. Ive never been on vacation where i had to walk 2 blocks to get to my room since all the parking spots were taken. Cars without passes made me wonder if people had three cars each. Not a place to bring kids
, beach supplies, and have to walk far after a long day.
Overall this place sucked. The reviews are mixed, but you can 100% get a way better place to stay than this resort.
The staff isnt very helpful when you complain about internet service your told to call the provider yourself. Told to take a shuttle to your room since you can find parking. Just a mess!
Read other reviews regarding this place esp when your harrassed to attend the two hour tour bs. Ive read horror stories!
We will NEVER return to this mess.

Our 7th stay with Diamond resort 4th at Mysitc Dunes. 1 br, equipped with no toaster (called to see if we could get one as it says fully equipped kitchen and has always had a toaster previously, apparently they were having a toaster shortage) 1 eye didn’t work on our 2 eye stove. Called to have maintenance fix it which was a quick fix and unfortunately not a lasting one, only was able to work one time. Issue with neighboring room alarm at 12 am (so loud i have several recordings timestamped. You could here in our room) no phone answer at the front after 20 minutes so my husband drove to front for Mr. Alan not to listen and send security to the wrong room. Also, Mr. nightshift Alan told my husband that the night calls don’t go to the front they are forwarded to maintenance or security. We sat waiting for security to take care of this matter so we could get back to our (interrupted) sleep. After waiting we called the number again where Mr. Alan answered this time, and said he would dispatch security and see how long it would take. We were told they went and no answer. No security came to our room at all. At this time my husband walked outside to find security had been sent to the wrong room, thanks Mr. Alan, and then the protocol was taken to get the matter fixed. It took a little over an hour to get this alarm turned off, finally got back to bed at 1:30 am. We’ve never had issues like this at any Diamond resort but this stay has us never wanting to book with them again. Also only allows WiFi for two and you have to pay for the each additional person Per day if you want service and no where on this resort has cell reception. So an additional 50 buck for WiFi for the week, if that is going to be their protocol then they should allow WiFi for however many are in the party, as we had 4 and stated that upon booking.

It depends on the course but you email them directly and they will be able to inform you on the green fees and tee times
Hi....Yes, each of the buildings has elevators and ramps to/from the parking areas. However, in some of the buildings, the ramps into the building are not in the center where you would expect. There are ramps but the are over on the side.
Yes all buildings have elevators.
I used Uber and it was in the $20-$30 range.
Yes but don't bother, its a long haul
