I was really taken with this authentic and historical house. We stayed upstairs in the spacious ballroom, which has its own sitting area. The house has period furniture and accessories. I've attached a photo of the quilt on our bed and our sitting area. The downstairs sitting area still has the huge cooking fireplace that was needed in colonial times.... More

I recently held my wedding Ceremony & Reception at the Henry House Inn. The pictures came out amazing, as it is a beautiful location and the grounds are well kept. HOWEVER, I can not recommend this as a venue to brides. I had emailed with Nancy (the female innkeeper) for months and she was very polite and seemed pretty laid... More

We are sorry that you were not completely happy with your wedding at The Henry House and wish to respond to your comments as follows: 1. Of course we would never object to a child using a bathroom - even if it was the bathroom of a guest unrelated to the wedding. Our objection was that the bathroom was not... More

We stayed here for 1 night and chose this Inn based on location and reviews. David and Nancy were great Inn Keepers, David welcomed us and Nancy provided a lovely Continental Breakfast. The location was perfect, a lovely covered bridge opposite and well kept grounds surrounding. We stayed in the Old Ballroom and were the only people checked In that... More

We stayed two nights at the Henry House and really enjoyed the atmosphere and surroundings of this lovely old building. We were well looked after by Nancy who provided tasty and filling continental breakfasts. A splendid peaceful location close to local attractions. Clean and comfortable, of course. Plenty of hot water when we stayed. The hosts do not live in... More

Spent one night at the Inn. David and Nancy were very nice.as others have also noted....the Inn is very old. This is not a fancy place, so if you are looking for fancy look elsewhere. Beautiful old wood floors, ceilings, etc. has that old smell to it that we like, but some people may not. The inn is spotless. Very... More

We had a very pleasant stay and found the description "wonderful" to address all aspects of our visit. We (two couples) stayed for two nights and found it very quaint and relaxing. Both hosts were informative, interesting, fun and very helpful. We strongly recommend going to Kevin's in North Bennington to add to your stay.

We found ourselves in Bennington at 7pm--4 hours from home on a story night. We wanted something a little more unique than a McHotel so we started asking around in a local restaurant was recommended to call the Henry House Inn. The owner answered on his cell phone and quickly agreed to meet us (they live offsite) and show us... More

The Inn is an authentic, colonial-era house next to a picturesque covered bridge. We were looking for a quiet escape from the hustle-and-bustle of city life and that's exactly what we found. Because it was low season, we had the Inn to ourselves. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. After a day of cross-country skiing at... More

Escaping New York for the weekend with the girls we wanted total downtime. Henry House Inn was perfect. Matches it's surroundings so holistically. History, gorgeous rooms, cosy fires to snuggle in front of with the wine, and hosts that really make you feel at home. It is a beautiful old house, well cared for. Beds are a touch on the... More

We stayed two nights at Henry House, which has a view of the Henry Covered Bridge out the window. The house is old, built in 1769, so expect some creaking and uneven floors. It is well maintained and lovingly cared for. The new owners are David and Nancy Lively, who took it over fairly recently. It is open year-round. Breakfast... More
