I should start by saying this is of course not a luxury hotel, but bearing in mind its target market, it's absolutely perfect.
-Free parking
-Fantastic location. Big Publix and Walgreen's within a short walk, just a few minutes' drive to Honeymoon Island + sunset bars, and 1 minute from the fabulous Frenchy's Outpost restaurant (see separate review).
-Very helpful friendly staff
-Pool fine for kids - a simple rectangle with a few loungers, but never busy and perfectly okay for a pre-dinner splash.
-Extremely well-priced beers & snacks in reception!
-Breakfast included: again, not luxury of course, but more than enough to start the family's day out with bagels/cereals/coffee, etc.
-A stop for the Jolly Trolley is just 5 mins.' walk away. This goes directly to the centre of Clearwater, meaning no driving or parking. Think it was $2.50 trip or $5 for a daypass - correct cash, to be paid onboard. We went one way on it, returned by Uber.
-Don't miss the centre of Dunedin - absolutely lovely!

The hotel was perfect for social distancing! You can enter at the ground level and go straight to your room (with a mask on) without seeing another soul. I loved how the doors were sealed with a sticker and the rooms were thoroughly cleaned. They smelt fresh and everything had a place. It was neat and tidy. I loved the mini fridge and the tv was great! The staff went above and beyond with a genuine, cheery attitude. I had a few things delivered and they notified me upon check in. My husband enjoyed the breakfast in the mornings and the sweetest lady served you to allow for safety precautions during covid! I picked this location due to the proximity to of the Dunedin Causeway and Honeymoon Island. I ended up going to the causeway beach and sat under the palms daily and in the evenings admiring the sunsets, birds and sea-life. There is a Publix really close along with pharmacies and a fantastic food joint called Frency's. Also, check out T's Produce stand and pick up some local honey as a souvenir.
Overall, five gold stars! I would return.
One last tip, if you are Hilton member you can use your phone to unlock the doors rather than fumble for a key, check out and look at other amenities!

This hotel was great! The staff was friendly and helpful. It was so clean and well set up.
Only people staying there could get in. You had to buzz the desk or use your key card to open the sliding doors. They had begun doing breakfast but they did it cafeteria style. You walked up and chose hot and cold items that they served you so everyone wasn’t touching things. Very well thought out. There were marks on the floor to keep people spread out. I had no issues feeling comfortable there. The location is great close to Dunedin shops and restaurants in the little downtown. Frenchy’s Outpost is next door if you don’t want to drive out. We would definitely stay again.

The staff was wonderful. From Anya to Hazel, Alexa, Lexi, Alexis, to Mariam, they were all wonderful. The manager, Kathy, backstabbed me and broke her promise she made to me in person three months ago. I have never been so disheartened in my 15 years of being a Diamond member. All the people I have referred to this property I have now told them the truth. And, they all live within three blocks of the property and we were all excited to use it for our families and friends as they come to visit us. This will now not happen. I can handle any problems that arise but I cannot and will not stand for a GM to lie to me and embarrass me in front of my wife. She instructed a desk clerk named Abdiel that it was MY room that I booked three months ago by Kathy herself that made them "overbooked" for the evening. She made it my fault. All of this became a moot point because my wife who is battling cancer was not able to travel this morning so Anya said that Abdiel approved my cancellation for this evening February 9 and for the 10.
I enjoyed meeting the staff and they, dare I say, enjoyed our conversations. I wish this property well but I am very skeptical that many people will be turned off by the GM, Kathy. And, I thought we were on the verge of a wonderful relationship. I stay over 120 nights a year in Hilton Properties. I literally watched this property be built from day one and couldn't wait for its opening. Never have I been so embarrassed and disappointed.

Dear jbwaaadeal, I'm very sorry about any confusion about our conversation regarding your return reservation, it was originally booked as a King room and in his zest to make you happy, a new manager told you he could give you the balcony room, which oversold that room type. I didn't discover the error until later in the day and we had no choice but to change it back to a standard King, as someone was already in that room. We certainly appreciate your loyalty to Hilton and your very kind words regarding the staff and hotel. Thank you for staying with us, and again, I apologize for any misunderstanding and wish your wife the very best. Sincerely, Kathy Shue, GM

This is a newer hotel and in great shape. Check in can be done via the Hilton Honors app is you’re a member and the digital key is available and easy to use. Guests enter at the ground level and the front desk is on the 1st floor. It was odd at first but no big deal. You have to use either your digital key or room keycard to activate the elevator. I personally like this. Knowing random strangers can’t come in and use the elevators to access rooms is a great safety feature! But, if you don’t check in on your app, it seems you have to either carry your luggage upstairs, leave it downstairs or in your car until you’ve checked in and gotten your keycard. Front desk staff were all very friendly! Due to staffing shortages, housekeeping service is available only on stays of 3 nights or longer. We were fine with that. The front staff had towels, toiletries, toilet tissue, etc. and we’re more than happy to give it to you if needed. Our room was spotless and comfy. My only wish was that there was a side chair to sit in. There was only the desk chair so one of us had to sit on the bed in the evening. They are serving a hot breakfast daily on the first floor. What used to be buffet style is now served by staff members wearing gloves. We watched them disinfect tables as guests left. The pool is really nice. The water was crystal clear. It’s in the shade during the morning hours so it was a bit cool and no sun for tanning before about 10:00, at least this time of year. The location is great! It’s on the Causeway going to Honeymoon Island, 15 minutes from Tarpon Springs, 10 minutes to downtown Dunedin, and 25-30 minutes to Clearwater. We will definitely stay here when we come back to this area!

I'm a Hilton Diamond member and stayed at three different Tampa-area Hampton Inns over the holidays and this was the best! GM Kathy and her staff were very attentive and helpful, especially the maintenance man who removed a wasp nest at the pool! Very clean property following all mitigation procedures. Hot breakfast served to you in a safe way. Great location close to downtown Dunedin, Tarpon Springs and Clearwater. Liked it so much we are going back for a week in January!

There are cheaper hotels that are much nicer! With the Hampton Inn, you get a four-star price for a two-star hotel. It was too modernized and nearly impossible to just wash your hands in the bathroom that didn’t even have a locking door, or a closing door for that matter. Our view was inside of other families’ homes so we had to keep our shades down the entire time. The TV was also ridiculously small; coming from an 85” at home, 40” just made watching TV boring, let alone the information-less guide! It was too dark in the room which a corner lamp would have helped. The design of the hotel was strange as well. You couldn’t go up the stairs, only down; the stairs and elevators were on opposite ends of the building making it extremely time consuming to get around. I don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed in a hotel for the price I paid. Spend some more money and get something nicer elsewhere.

We chose to again stay at the Hampton Inn in Dunedin since we really like the experience previously at this hotel – due to its location, view, and the excellence of its personnel. This Hampton Inn is a relatively new facility and was built as a comfortable, attractive and “healthy” building with good air flow. The manager, Kathy, selects and trains her personnel very well. Catlan and Anya are excellent front desk receptionist who are focused on making your stay a good one. They are very helpful on all fronts. Amanda is a very helpful and personable housekeeper. Although the breakfast is the usual, Dave and Marian provide attentive service.

This is the first time staying at this hotel and the overall experience was very good.! However, housekeeping was poor! We lefted for the day around 10:00 am and return around 3:45 pm and found that our room was not clean yet. I spoke with the front desk and the excuse was that a lot of guest left today and they would have someone come up and clean our room. Well that person took almost 20 minutes to arrive and she had an attitude! Not friendly at all! Beside this person, all the other staff were friendly and attentive! The room was clean and comfortable. Close to Honeymoon Island. Free parking and the breakfast buffet was average.

Dear carlosrican, Thank you very much for staying with us and are glad to see your overall experience was very good; I'm sorry your room wasn't serviced as timely as you would have preferred, the holidays are a very busy time and it sometimes takes the whole day to complete our tasks. I see that you found the room to be clean and comfortable and the whole team appreciates knowing that, thank you very much. We hope to see you again soon, Sincerely, Kathy Shue, General Manager

I stayed here with my family including 2 kids for two night weekend getaway. It’s close to the access for honeymoon beach. There is a Dunkin’ Donuts and McDonald’s with in walking distance. We also went to breakfast at a great place in the plaza next to the restaurant and got pizza in that same plaza for dinner. Lots of options near by including a Frenchys . The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. There is complimentary coffee and tea every morning and breakfast! The pool was small but my kids enjoyed it. It’s about a 7 minute drive to the main strip. If you want to be close to that Main Street of shops and restaurants this isn’t the place to stay. If we planned on visiting Dunedin again we would consider staying here due to its cleanliness but may consider staying closer to the main strip.

YES, The Jolley Trolley runs from Tarpon Springs to St. Pete. I am sure that the hotel has the schedule and you should be able to pick it up within walking distance of the hotel. You can walk the Dunedin Causeway to Honeymoon Island to go to the beach or to take the water shuttle to Caladesi Island. Also, Frenchys restaurant is right next door to the hotel and has one of the best grouper sandwiches in Pinellas County. Enjoy!
