Recently a group of friends and I traveled down to the Everglades to do some fishing. It was a spur of the moment trip and we came right to where we wanted to be the rod and gun club. I must say upon arrive we all were greeted almost like family and we noticed they didn't take credit cards and...

I recently found myself in Everglades City, I came across the Rod and Gun Club. I first would love to say how blown away I was with the beauty of the building. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a very welcoming staff. After seeing the place I decided to stay. They got me checked in with...

If the woman who identified herself as a member of the owning family and as the manager, took a course on Hospitality and read the other poor reviews published here the Rod and Gun could be easily made a desirable place to dine. We have never had a more embarrassing dinner experience. The foreign couple next to us did not...

The everglades rod and gun is like walking into a time capsule, it is an amazing building right on the river. The staff is friendly, the rates are good and the rooms are awesome, we had a 4 poster king bed, real hardwood floors and a brand new bathroom, also a mini fridge. We caught fish off the dock right...

Spent one night here while driving across the state. Jeff at the front desk was very helpful and gave us a great room, which was very reasonable this time of year because it's off season, and Everglades City is pretty much abandoned. Rooms are very clean and have an old Florida feel. Beds were comfy, sheets and pillows were nice...

Visited last week and was impressed with the old building and grounds. Its a very lovely building with original floors and furniture. The sitting on the river is beautiful. We did not eat at the restuarant but several people seem to be enjoying their meal. Will return when we have more time to stay at one of the cottages and eat.

History - loved it- very friendly and helpful staff. Family feel. On the water and a pool. Small cabin like rooms on the water with palm trees and birds chirping. Watching the sun set. Not fancy but very unique. Two beds in room for a reasonable price. The gun club is like a small museum. Great porch seating for lunch...

We visited the Rod and Gun Club recently and were very disappointed. The place itself is an interesting look back into the past and has a very pleasant porch for dining and viewing the Barron River. When we arrived every table was uncleared and a few people dining and some people awaiting service. We semi cleared a table and sat...

One Sunday we drove to Key Largo for lunch, another Sunday we drove to Naples, another Sunday we drove to Jensen Beach. A friend of my wife's said that she and her husband had enjoyed...
