Not one of the fanciest places, but rooms were clean. Owners were very nice. It needs a little sprucing up, but the neighborhood is quiet. Not a place for spring breakers, but a place to feel comfortable and safe. The beach is very private and you can walk for a long ways before you see anyone. Nice getaway if you...

Do not come here if you want crowds, noise, high rises, or room service. Do stay hereif you want peace and quite, old Florida, a wonderful beach, very clean rooms, relaxation, super friendly owners. This place may not be for everyone but it was perfect for us. We can't wait to come again and will bring our dog next time....

I have stayed at the Whale Watch Motel three times over the past four years. It is not luxurious...but it is clean and comfortable. The owners, Barry and Patricia are so personable and helpful, and they remember me from visit to visit. You do not feel like a tourist here...you feel like you live there. The beach is no more...

My two married daughters and I decided we wanted to just have a weekend to ourselves. My oldest daughter and her husband (from Savannah, Georgia) had been to the Whale Watch a couple of times and were very impressed. Since she made the reservations, that's where we ended up. Our cottage was nicely furnished, roomy enough even for 3 females,...

I’m from TORONTO CANADA and I have been visiting Florida every year since I was about 10 years old. I have stayed in many places from renting a house to hotels and Whale Watch Motel is the best place I have been so far. I have stayed at Whale Watch Motel now for the past 3 years and I don’t...

Old school Florida Motel right here - and I mean that as a complete compliment. Nice location across the two lane road from a relatively lightly traveled beach. The rooms are simple but clean and the couple who runs the motel are just great.

No we were not looking for the condo life. What we found was a perfect fit for us. Barry was a wonderful fount of information on places to visit in the area. He was great at being at the call when we needed something. Our room was very comfy and what a view. We loved being able to cross the...

This is an idyliic choice for those who prefer a basic, comfortable and extremely clean accomodations. The motel was built in 1952 and it has matured nicely. We rented a cottage and were delighted with the amenities (three rooms, well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, very clean bathroom, large television). The owners are very friendly, efficient and extremely helpful. The pool...

I have to preface this review by saying that we rarely write about our experiences. However, based on the very negative reviews that have been written, we felt compelled to post something. I will admit that we almost cancelled because of what we had read. We have travelled to many locations all over the world and know what luxury accomodations...

We stayed at the Whale Watch over the Memorial Day weekend. We had an Ocean front room. It was roomy enough, older furniture, very tiny TV. The door did not have a deadbolt, and you could see light through some of the cracks. I was with my husband, but would not feel secure if alone. The shower water pressure was...

WhaleWatchMotel, Barry, Owner at Whale Watch Motel, responded to this review

I don't normally respond to reviews, but feel compelled. 1. The room had no deadbolt and I didn't feel secure if it wasn't for my husband. All our rooms have deadbolts, and have since way before we took over the place 5 years ago. Why would you say we don't have them? We regularly have single women walk the beach...
