The Laurel Oak Inn could be a case study on the perfect B&B. Peggy and Monta have lovingly restored and expanded upon the inn to create an atmosphere of beauty, comfort, quiet and exceptional food. After arrival and wine on the porch we asked our hosts for recommendations for dinner saying that we preferred to walk. After determining each person's...

Spent two nights in this beautiful home. Great location, great hosts, yummy breakfasts! We walked to dinner both evenings. A nice stroll though a very safe neighborhood!! Had a chance to tour the city and U of Florida campus. Would return to the Laurel Oak Inn in a heartbeat.

I am not a B&B person but this is a perfect place to stay in Gainesville. Close enough to downtown to be convenient but far enough away to be peaceful. Monta and Peggy are perfect hosts, helpful and friendly but not intrusive. I cannot recommend this Inn highly enough. Oh and they serve great coffee...

I stayed at the Laurel Oak Inn because the conference hotel downtown was full, and it turned out to be a great choice. Monte and Peggy were helpful, easy-going and good cooks; my room was spacious and clean; and it was an easy walk to downtown -- 10 minutes and one stoplight. I'd definitely stay there again.

A beautiful, cozy inn where you instantly feel right at home. Monta and Peggy made me feel like family as soon as I arrived. I also got to snuggle the three lovely cats who live the life of luxury on the front porch. The room was very comfy, and the breakfast was delicious. My hosts also took great care to...

Monta Burt and his wife are consummate hosts. The Inn has been carefully and well restored. We much appreciated every well executed detail, from the welcoming veranda, through to the comfortable room and delicious breakfast. Thank you.

Quiet and peaceful site in the heart of Gainesville. Beautiful renovation of an old building. Host and hostess very pleasant and make an amazing breakfast. The patio and fire pit were perfect for the weather.

From the time we arrived at the Laurel Oak Inn the owners were polite and friendly and accommodating. The entire inn is immaculate. Their daily homemade breakfast was different each day and delicious. There was lots of good hot coffee available and a multitude of juices. I sat on the porch each morning and drank my coffee in a comfy...

The property, hosts, setting and proximity to town were all ideal. Our stay was just what we had hoped for, and Monta and Peggy treated us like old friends. They were quite generous about advising us what else we might want to do and see while in Gainesville. A terrific B&B.

We were here before a couple of years ago and had such a nice time we decided to stop back on our way through Gainesville. It showed that our first experience was not a fluke. Monta and Peggy have this right. Every detail is perfect, the house is beautiful, the work they've done on it is impressive, Breakfast is imaginative...
