Reception was very efficient our room was the honeymoon suite . the linen and towels very good . the staff were very friendly. The tiki bar was very good live music most nights and a varied menu.the pool was out during our stay and in my opinion not enough was done to give you access to the water

Stayed over Mother's Day weekend and had a fantastic time. Awesome bands, cold drinks, welcoming atmosphere. Rooms are all waterfront, clean and comfortable. Staff is very attentive and accommodating. Beautiful beach with one of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen in the Keys. Once you're there, you won't find a reason to leave. Great food, good music, lot's to do.

I was very pleased to stay there with the family. Our party of seven could easily fit in the comfortable room. We had line of sight with the cove. In the morning a pair of dolphins swam close by the restaurant bar area. The entire stretch of keys have an overwhelming number of activities. Game fishing is of cause the...

We turned back at one point because we didn't realize the road continues past a sharp narrow bend. Gilberts Resort is just around that corner so don't make the same mistake we did. We spent 2 nights and the whole resort was a bit of a surprise. I wasn't expecting much and I was pleasantly surprised as it turned out....

If you're into noise, dirt, screaming drunk people with an overpriced room, then you will like it.... awful! Boats and jet skis racing by, people blasting music from their boats. Woman who checked us in was brusque bordering on rude and not helpful. Had to call security twice for noise. Room was ok but bathroom wasn't clean (hair and plastic...

Women working check in were rude and completely unprofessional. Canceled my reservation along with several others doing the same. Had a "beach" but even being a guest you would not have been able to use it. It was open to public & guests were left out. Would not recommend to anyone.

Been probably four years since staying at Gilbert's. Watched its evolution. Now more upscale than 30 years ago, but what isn't? The tiki bar has quadrupled and yet it has the same basic "real Keys" vibe. I've always loved this place. Now more than ever. Kudos to Tonya on the front desk. She keeps it homey. Here's my conundrum. I...

We chose this as a stop over from Miami Airport to Key West. Had two nights as did not want a early start after a 9 hour flight. As it was the weekend the place was hectic. Big bikers place full of Harley's but really good vibe. Loved the atmosphere in the bar and the beach was pleasant but not...

We stopped here on the way to Duck Key for lunch, and did not want to leave! Tiki bar has great atmosphere, good food and delicious drinks. We loved the place and decided to spend a night there. Check in was easy and pleasant. We asked for two rooms, and got first floor motel rooms with direct water view. Rooms...

If you like tourist traps, this is the place for you. Although we kept hearing from the guy playing the guitar in the "Tiki Bar" that Gilbert's is the first and last stop in the FL Keys, I would not make this a stop at all, if I were you. One thing my wife and I absolutely abhor, is being...
