The Capitana was a beautiful property. Perfectly landscapes and well maintained. But for us the most amazing thing was our room was so clean and well cared for and modern that it felt like we were the only people to have ever stayed in that room. The people working the desk were amazing to constantly text us and ask how our visit was going and if there was anything we needed. The pool was immaculate with a perfect amount of chairs for laying out and umbrellas for those who wanted less of the sun. They even had an awesome beach area. The pool bar was stocked with all the best ingredients for a great cocktail and had very yummy food! Every floor had its own little room stalked with free water bottles that were chilled. And pre-made bags of ice for your room. The room had an oversized mini fridge that was perfect for stocking up with your leftovers or any of your favorite foods. And plenty of cabinet space if you wanted to order groceries as well. We loved that we weren't right in the middle of old Key West. Our Uber was about a $10 to $12 trip one way. We could literally get an Uber anytime without ever having to wait longer than 5 minutes. And it was great to be able to not have to worry about parking, we were just dropped off right at our reservation or anywhere we wanted. It took about 10 minutes from the restaurant to get to the heart of old Key West. So we could go to Old Key West and do all of the fun things, and then come back to what felt like our isolated little resort. We WILL be back!!

Hotel's Favourite
We just returned from a four night get-a-way to Key West and stayed at the Capitana. We had a fabulous stay. We arrived early so our room was not ready but we were allowed to check in and headed to the pool/bar area to wait in a beautiful, tropical setting. Gary, at the front desk did a great job of keeping us up to date and went beyond what was expected to be sure we were comfortable. We loved that the hotel texted us regularly to check on our stay and if we needed anything we could text and get an immediate response. We had limited cleaning service (Covid) but the room was very clean and we got clean towels within five minutes of our request. Our room was well appointed with lots and lots of floor space. The balcony was nice size with chairs and a small table. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and tropical. There is a beach for relaxation (not swimming). The pool was nice with plenty of space and chairs. Bar service was terrific and we thought the drinks were perfectly made. Our bar tender, John, was attentive and service exceptional. One of my favorite areas of the pool was the large hot tub. It was so nice to have a clean, well maintained, uncrowded area. A nice hot breakfast was served daily, I wish I knew the names of those working that area. They were excellent. The food was hot and fresh. Don't expect too many options but it's a nice service with good, fresh, hot coffee. The hotel is located just a few minutes from down town. A little too far to walk but very convenient by pink cab (locals who really know the area) or uber (drivers come in from out of town). We paid about 12$ each trip and never waited more than a few minutes. (Pink taxi is $10). This is really a good deal since parking downtown is $5 an hour. We liked the location as it is away from the madness of Duval and on the water. The hotel has FREE parking. We would highly recommend this hotel. As previous Opal travelers we now look for the brand when we travel.

We stayed here for 5 nights in mid-January. It is less than a 5 minute drive to the Duval St area, a quick drive or a short Uber away. The rooms are clean and very up to date. We had a small kitchen area with a decent size fridge, microwave, coffee maker and counter space. The room was large enough for a sectional sofa, coffee table, small table with two chairs plus a king bed. The bathroom was spacious and very updated, the shower was beautiful blue tiles. Plus we had a nice private patio area. A generous continental breakfast was included - cereals, hot eggs, bacon, pancakes, bagels, muffins, yogurt. The tiki bar was staffed with friendly bartenders and you could order limited lunch/dinner items to eat at the bar or carry back to your room. I recommend the flatbread. Pool and beach areas were clean, had plenty of seats and umbrellas. I would definitely return here - it was peaceful and relaxing on the property yet very easy to get to the bars and restaurants of central Key West. Thank you for a great stay! My one suggestion - you provide complementary bottled water for guests. Instead of generating all that plastic waste, why not provide a reusable water bottle with the hotel logo on it and have refiling stations. So much less plastic waste and free advertising for the hotel via the bottle. Also, would be good to have a hang tag for the door if you wanted to sleep in and have housekeeping defer to later.

This was the nicest place I’ve ever stayed in! The staff was phenomenal and would send us text messages daily asking if we needed anything and how we were enjoying it. It had its own little beach area and a beautiful pool with the gulf view! The tiki bar was also wonderful with amazing bar tenders! We will be back for sure!

It appeared recently renovated, and they hit ALL the important points. While it's not that big, the rooms are trendy and comfortable, the outdoor spaces are lots of fun with the pool, yard games, bar, and a perched beach. Would return in a heartbeat. Very attentive staff, lots of communication was via text which is far better than paper slipped under your door!
