I travel to the Fl Keys 1-2 times per year. My husband and I stay in a variety of hotels, from fancy resorts to bare-bones fishermen hotels. Pines & Palms is a gem.
First, it's not so much a hotel as a series of efficiency...More
My family and I stayed in their Tarpon condo on the water back in January 2014. This is a wonderful place for a quiet family vacation. The ocean right outside the condo is gentle and shallow and full of small critters for the kids to...More
Our second visit was even better then the first. Beautiful immaculately kept waterfront property couldn't be more relaxing. Staff is exceptionally friendly. The location is great with many near-by excellent restaurants. Looking forward to returning again this fall.
The moment you drive in the calm and relaxing atmosphere consumes you. The resort is spotless and our cottage was perfect. Anna the manager was so friendly and helpful. Whatever we needed Anna always took care of it. Even all of the plantings were perfectly...More

While I have not stayed here I have stayed at many places in the keys. There are not a lot of real beaches in the keys...each key is basically a rock in the water. If you want shelling the west coast of Florida, particularly Sanibel, would be the place. Most beaches are created by clearing rocks and dumping sand, then smoothing it out on a grade that gets deeper the farther it goes out. Walks on any beach in the keys would be a pleasure and sunsets are outrageous, particularly when you are equipped with a margarita!
