Took our travel trailer for a 2 night camping trip. Wonderful Florida State Park---large campsites with electric and water hook-ups. Comfort stations are very clean and well maintained--huge shower area. Fire pit rings are great for roasting hot dogs or simply to enjoy. There were 7 miles of hiking trails within the park as well as many lakes and picnic...

This park is a gem! We stayed at the Sandhill Campground, site #1 which was perfect. The sites are spacious; some, like ours, are open, some are shady. Bathrooms and showers are very clean. We hiked the ravine in the morning. Be sure to take some water. A great park for biking. If you want peace and quiet, this is...

I only spent one night at Gold Head but plan to go back. The camp sites are large and you are not on top of your neighbor. It was nice and quiet. Hiked the trail down to the Ravine and it was absolutely beautiful! The bathrooms were clean and the ranger and staff super nice. I can't wait to hike...

This place is Awesome. Nature at its best. Grounds perfect as well as facilities. Staff great. Quite and peaceful. Wildlife awesome. We are a family of Florida natives and this is where we come to get away from it all.

We stayed in a rustic cabin in February. the cabin was spotless with a stone fireplace as well as heat/AC. Full kitchen just enough for two to work around, full bath with a stall shower. One room with the bed, table chairs and futon. Screen porch. A few walking trails and FL pond/lake. Perfect to get out of the northern...

This was my first time at this state park. It certainly will not be my last. My first impression was kinda scarey, tho...I pulled up to the Ranger station, and there was a male ranger on the phone. He turned his back towards me and continued to talk. So I pulled around to park and just go in. I walked...

This park is quiet, the restrooms/bath houses are clean and we had a nice relaxing weekend. There are good trails for hiking and birding. The paved roads are great for biking and there is a paved, six mile connector trail that leads to the Palatka-to-Lake Butler State Trail. HOWEVER, the major drawback was the low water level in Little Johnson...

The cabins are rustic. Yet they have everything you want and need for camping without being in a tent. No internet or TV, but they let you know that before booking. Nice screened-in porch and huge stone fireplace. Full kitchen and bathroom. There is a fire pit and picnic table. You never feel like you are "on top of" your...

Ben and Mrs Too are now making it a point to spend one or two Monday-Friday stays in Florida State Parks each winter. We have been tent camping with our children since the mid 1960's, then towing our pop-up trailer up, down, and across the country until the turn of the century. We are now content to rent a cabin...

Continuing our quest to visit a different park every month, we picked ip Goldhead on a busy weekend because it's so close to home. The landscape is a bit different than our local area. The Ridge and Fern trails are completely different from each other but are a good combination for a reasonable hike. Bring a picnic and enjoy it...
