Breakfast is on us!
Having been in management for 30 years it is easy to spot when things are not going right and our stay was filled with many examples: * From a night clerk that checked us in to an occupied room (where we scared the occupant at 2am) * To not being informed of the no daily service policy, to having to go to the front desk to ask for towels, trash can liners, etc. * To a room that had thread bare carpet and poor lighting * To a bathroom outdated with a tub surround held together by caulk The one bright spot was the morning breakfast and the individual that kept the food supplied and the area fastidiously clean. She stood alone as exceptional. With the plethora of problems at this property, I believe the GM should be looking for another industry to work.
The room was Very clean just remodeled the bed was very comfortable and hotel quiet so good nights d see keep was had. Therefore we never got up in time to take advantage of the free breakfast. The staff were friendly & accommodating being sure to offer snacks from The snack bar if desired The pool was nice but under repair so we were not able to use it to swim
Bright and CLEAN! Angel at the front desk checked us in and was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good, especially the biscuits and gravy. Great location, walking distance to the Spanish Springs square which offers restaurants, shopping and live music. Would definitely stay there again!
I think this hotel will be quite good once they are done with their property renovations. I DO NOT appreciate the cover up of the renovations and construction process though. They don't mention it on their website and when I arrived at the hotel it was admitted to me by all employees that you are welcome to go elsewhere (at the last minute) if you don't like it. Most of the employees (90%) seemed fed up and bitter. They do not convey any kind of friendliness or consideration to the guests under the circumstances. Specifically Codi was quite "overly" professional and perhaps a manager but doing her best to cover up for all the unpleasant surroundings of the hotel. Very rundown hotel but they're working on it. Customer service quite bad. Comfortable beds. Nice large televisions in the renovated rooms. Noise level very loud due to renovations and also housekeeping slamming doors all morning. We like to visit the villages to see live shows and often stay overnight. We normally love Holiday Inn Express but I will not be staying here again.…
The hotel is undergoing remodeling - inside and outside. Parking is very limited ( we had to squeeze in next to the giant dumpster). Parking is the opposite end of the building from the only open door. But the sidewalk is also torn up and roped off. It was annoying to pay regular full-price for a room with all the inconvenience. Then, no fault of the hotel, there were classless people yelling back and forth down the hallway at 10:30 pm. We were planning to stay 4 nights. We left and went to another hotel.
I’ll start by saying it isn’t all bad. The lobby & first floor were clean and the complimentary breakfast was excellent. The outside was well kept and felt safe. The area around the hotel is super nice. Once you step on the elevator to go to your room is a whole other story however. The hallways are filthy. I don’t think the carpets have been cleaned in years and all the doors are chipped up and look rough. The shower had mildew everywhere. The bathroom counter hadn’t been cleaned nor had the table or tv stand. The shower faucet leaked. The sheets hadn’t been changed and there was a blood stain on one of them. I called the lobby and ask them to be changed while we were out for the day, the front desk said ok. When I returned for the night, the beds had been made, but the same blood stain was still there. I called the front desk and was told if I wanted them changed I would have to do it myself. Holiday Inn express has always been my fail safe cheaper hotel chain, well this probably broke me of that. I will never stay here again if I’m back in the area and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.…
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites The Villages is very comfortable. Comfortable Beds and roomy rooms. We had a very enjoyable week. The daytime staff was very professional and friendly however, the young man at night was usually outside smoking or in the lobby watching TV. He also needed to be reminded the rules on Service Animals. They had a good breakfast selection and definitely adhered to the Covid-19 requirements.
Horrendous experience. Carpets filthy. Fire alarm in room exposed to wires. AC with terrible rattle. No breakfast for 2 days because “ cook did not come in”. Called at 9:30 at night on my cell to see if I “had taken a luggage cart”. Yelled at for leaving a cup on a breakfast table by mistake “we are not your maid”. Unbelievable!!!
Hand sanitizing stations were disgusting. This whole place is filthy and extremely dated. Rugs were dirty in the room and in hallways. I bought a pair of flops at the local Wal-Mart so I wouldn't walk barefoot in the room. Asked the manager to come into the room and walk barefoot in there with me. Didn't happen There was cereal on the floor next to the bed. There was a peanut in the hallway next to out door. Told the manager about it and 5 days later when we checked out it was still there. Bathtub had gaps in the tub surround along with minor mold. We were told that there was no room service. We had to put our dirty linens and bedding outside the door in the morning. If we needed new towels etc, we had to get them at the front desk ourselves. This was the notice enclosed with our room keys "Covid-19 Procedures: Please place your trash can and dirty towels outside your door in the morning. Pick up towels, linen, or any other amenity at the front desk at any time. For extended stay (5+days) service will be provided on Mondays. There were dental flossers, 2, under the sink. There was no discounted room rates either, $100 per night, 5 night stay. Won't be staying at any Holiday Inn in the near future. If you would like to see some pics reply with your email addy. If you can, look elsewhere. You'll be much happier.…
We think Holiday Inn is going downhill, but this one was really terrible. The carpeting was not properly vacuumed, there were crumbs on the desk areas, and a hair in the shower. When we walked into the room, all the lamp shades were askew, and there was a hole in one!!! Was this the sight of a rumble?? We were supposed to have 2 queens and wound up with a king. By a stroke of magic, the front desk clerk “located” two queens (which was labeled in our email confirmation) after we had showered and in bed!!!!! The chair and ottoman should be turned into a second hand shop. Owner MUST renovate NOW. Bad!!!!!
