It's not a luxurious, fancy situation, but the amenities are exactly what I always need, and the staff--most of all Annette!- are very friendly and above-and-beyond helpful. I've stayed here several times, and I've never once regretted it, and I have regretted other hotels in the area. This hotel has really good bang-for-your-buck quality.
We booked a 1 night stay due to repairs at our home. We booked the suite with Orbitz and upon our arrival there was a few people in front of the entrance smoking weed and cigs that I had to walk my kids through. Granted the men apologized for it. When we entered the room the smell was horrific and I immediately walked to the front desk where I explained the situation to the front desk. Her reply was I can spray some air freshener and I'm like to make my family of 5 gag even more just place us in another room. Unfortunately all the rooms were booked so I called Orbitz. Orbitz called the front desk on our behalf and was given the option to leave without a refund. We arrived with kids 5-9years of age at 11pm my kids had begun to fall asleep but was awakened by a phone call around 12am from the lady at the front desk. She had called 3 times because the phone connection was poor and kept disconnecting so she called my cellphone to yell at me for calling Orbitz and stated I offered you some spray. I'm like REALLY Heffa you woke up my kids for that. (CLICK) I will never book here again and would recommend somewhere else. We left and went to my in laws who had little space but better than sleeping there. No refund and could not give feedback through orbitz because they removed it. My daughter and I stayed here prior to an early flight. The check in was ok, but all in all, we did not get a good feeling about the hotel. I would not have wanted to stay there alone. When we got to our room, there was a distinct air freshener smell. The bed was comfortable enough, but was noisy due to a busy road nearby. When we woke up in the morning, there was a cockroach in the sink. Do not recommend this hotel and would definitely not stay there again. It is not up to IHG standards.
We had originally booked a room at a Holiday Inn express that apparently was under construction and wouldn't be ready for our visit, so we were given rooms here at the Candlewood suites, Lake Mary. My family and I came to Florida for a big family reunion and needed a place close to Sanford airport just for one night. We were very happy with the neatness, comfort, cleanliness and friendly staff.
They claim they renovated but I think that only included a little paint on the walls. The ceiling in the bathroom was black in most places and covered in mold and mildew. The room smelled so bad I had to go down to the local CVS drug store and purchase a glade plug-in. The office staff was rude and not very helpful. When we arrived with our family of 4 we found only 2 bath towels and when we asked for more they said they didn't have any more they could give from laundry. The hotel was very dirty and the halls smelled like cigarette smoke! I wish I would have taken pictures to share but please take my word for it.
Had a nice stay here while working on a job nearby. The room was clean and comfy. The front desk staff was really nice and helpful. Our rooms were right next to the highway so it was pretty noisy. Luckily I don't mind the noise. They moved my Boss to another room as soon as he asked. I would stay here again.
This is my 2nd review of an IHG property. My wife and I are currently Wyndham owners and rewards members. After some years we are searching for a new loyalty rewards company and after multiple suggestions from multiple couples IHG kept coming up so we gave them a try. We went to Austin,TX Dec, 2020. That was a fun trip minus the billing error of $15,000 plus. Yes, you read correctly, $15,000 plus. After speaking with the manager, it was corrected and we were awarded 25,000 points for our inconvenience. It was a nice gesture but it did not cover the inconvenience suffered due to my credit card company thinking it was fraud and cancelling our card. So we were stuck on a one week trip without our credit card. I know what you are thinking but they only mail the replacement card to the address on file for "security purposes". So, here we are again giving it a second chance because things do happen when it comes to technology. So, we are in Lake Mary, FL Candlewood Suites. First, there is a horrible smell in the kitchen sink. We were offered to move rooms or a maintenance call for the next day. We are tired from our drive here so my wife says we can wait. Then, my wife goes to lay down and there are bed bugs. Yes, bed bugs! So, of course we are moved to another room and we are given an "amazing 500 points" for our trouble. Yes, that "amazing" is sarcasm! Now, consider if you have ever experienced bed bugs you know psychologically my wife is in turmoil and she is a combat veteran who suffers from PTSD TERRIBLY! She is sleeping on the desk in the room. The room we are moved to has no phone, 3 of the 4 plugs at the desk dont work, no soap in the room and there was a bloody pillow case under the mattress when I go to inspect for bed bugs. I would post the pictures but there is no CAT5 plug to hook up my computer and no matter how many times I try I can not get a wifi connection to save my life, even after I log in. As soon as I figure out how to clip her video of the bed bugs I will be posting it. I think it is a shame that we used 25000 points to experience this and got a whopping 500 points for our trouble! We have been IHG members for a long time & this is the only IHG property right in this area so we chose it. We have been at other Candlewood Suites & like that we can get the full size fridge/microwave & separate living room & bedroom. When we stay more than one night this is always the way we go. The place is clean but could use some updating of the furniture. The bed not quite as comfortable as other IHG's but okay. Towels were very nice. Strange though in the kitchen they had 1 knife/fork/spoon when they knew they were two of us as well as 3 plates/cups/glasses. Figured it would be 2 or 4. Had to ask for a tv guide as none in room. Nothing walkable but lots a short drive away. Worst part is the noise so if you book ask for an even number room as they are on the other side of building from I 4. I was disappointed as a Spire Elite that they did not give us a non road room.…
I truly expected less of this hotel, considering the price compared to other hotels in the area. However, we were more than happy with everything. The room is very large and contains a full kitchen. The bed was comfortable and the towels were luxurious. Instead of the little bottles of toiletries used by most hotels, this shower has containers of shampoo, conditioner and body wash that hang in the showerl and you squeeze out what you want. So much nicer. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The area is very nice, and there are many restaurant choices nearby. Since this is an extended stay type of hotel, they do not offer a complimentary breakfast. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Nice area in lake Mary. Beds were comfortable. It's one room with kitchen instead of separate rooms. Very close to I 4 too. They do not serve breakfast and their wasnt anywhere to walk to breakfast , but the do have pantry downstairs for snacks. Pool is outside Nd they had a nice gym and laundry room. Computers with printers available too
