The Barefoot Beach Club is commended for its serene atmosphere, with guests enjoying the live music and beautiful beach vistas. Many travelers find the rooms comfortable and well-appointed, but some have raised concerns about noise and the need for updates. The hotel's amenities, including a clean pool and kitchenette facilities, are popular, although comments about limited shade and towels have been noted.
While the staff receives accolades for their attentive service, guests feel the hotel could offer better value, citing high costs and additional fees. The proximity to John's Pass is a highlight, offering convenience for dining and shopping.

Property's Favourite Review
We have just returned to the UK after a 3 week Orlando holiday with the last 6 nights being at the Barefoot Beach Club.
We booked this to wind down after theme park madness and the hotel was perfect for that
We had a 2 bedroom partial gulf room and the space this gave us was perfect, full kitchen and washer/dryer which enabled us to have some down time, nice to have a balcony and large bathrooms
Always a good supply of beach towels and just a wander to the beach
Being near Johns Pass was fantastic
Every member of staff we dealt with were really helpful
Would book again

“They say “everything’s better at the beach”, my revision:“everything's better at the Barefoot Beach Club”!
“Attention to detail” is demonstrated throughout this Madeira property where the kitchens are appointed with exquisite appliances like Cuisinart coffee machines; walk-in showers with pebble tiled floors have rain shower heads; kitchen sinks have garbage disposals and sprayer faucets. The balconies are as wide as the rooms that have comfortable sleeper sofas and beds and SPACE (closets, cabinets, drawers, countertops) ... this is the kind of place you walk into and either utter "WOW" aloud or think it as you wander about in exploration commending yourself on this major "score"!
The staff are incredibly conscientious, personable and helpful, the grounds feature multiple grills, pavered picnic-table area; a beautiful pool; hot tub and those oh-so luxurious and inviting, canopied big outdoor beds; plenty of lounge chairs, plus fountains contributing a consistent flutter of white noise to sooth and calm.
Walking distance to grocery, convenience stores and restaurants; situated on one fine Florida west coast beach, this is a gemsyou can't say enough about (but I try!!)
Reasonably priced with reliable WiFi, Barefoot Beach Club blows away VRBO or AirBnB for a 2/2 on the beach and kills every hotel for a 1/1. They’ve got it goin' on and everything is truly better at Barefoot Beach Club!

The hotel has the best location ever, it is literally at the beach, but can use some updates, specially on the hallways and on the restroom. There as a hole on out bath tub ceiling cause by mold and the smell inside the room was pretty strong. Also the hallways are old and giver a slump impression.
Comfortable bed, nice linen, but no housekeeping, Our room wasn't cleaned during our stay (not sure if it was because Covid 19)

We paid $500 for two weekend nights and it was $200 to much. This is what resorts with restaurants, 24-hour front desks, and many other amenities are changing down the road, but this hotel doesn't have any of it. There are only two buildings. One has been remodeled, but it is on a busy, noisy road. Many sirens went by the two nights we visited. The other one has not been remodeled for decades. The ceilings are low, the bathroom is filled with chipped toilets, 1980s sinks and drop-in showers and just dirty. Not dirty because housekeeping hasn't been there, dirty because it's decades of grime. There is no housekeeping, however. If you want fresh sheets or towels you put your old ones in a basket before 10 a.m. and they leave clean ones at your doorstep for you to replace yourself. There is no coffee or any kind of food or beverage on property, and there is an attendant at the front desk only from
9 am to 9 p.m. It seems the owners put all their money into refurbishing the building closest to the busy road and the pool area so those pictures you see on their website look great, but the resort itself is charging too much for the lack of amenities and old interiors in the second building. The one great thing is the water here. The beach is clear, warm, and perfect for swimming but also quite crowded. It's also narrow in most spots so the sand fills up with beachgoers and tents. Several groups played very loud music both days we were there.

We stayed here for a quick spring break getaway with our 14 yr old daughter and 2 of her friends from school. We were in a 2 bedroom 2 bath partial ocean view room (#20) and it was wonderful! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to make breakfast each morning. The balcony was huge and we were happy with the partial view of the ocean and the pool. The hotel is just seconds away from St. John's Pass. Amanda at the front desk was very helpful with a quick check in and able to give us plenty of suggestions/information about the area. There is no in room housekeeping here - there is a basket that you put outside your door before 9:30 am each day with any towels that you want replaced and a card to fill out for any in room supplies you might need such as soap, TP, coffee, etc. This process worked great for us! There is also an AMAZING roof top deck! It does not appear to be fully operational yet, but wow! it is a great place to watch the sunset! If I have to find any faults with the hotel, it would be that the floors in our room were still sandy in a few places and so was the balcony. Since they don't do in room cleanings while you are staying there I think that they could stand to up their game a bit in the housekeeping department. Ours was a corner room and you could hear a bit of street noise in the bedroom with the queen bed that faced the street. Overall, I absolutely recommend this hotel and hope to stay here again sometime!

Fast check in and plenty of parking. Nice location walking distance to Johns Pass. Nice pool area and small hot tub plenty of seating. Room had microwave, fridge coffee pot etc and the club uses a basket system for supplies they do not come in the room and make the bed and clean etc. . The room could do with a facelift but bed was comfortable. .I personally prefer a hotel with more facilities so will probably not return to Barefoot.

We were very pleased with our stay at Barefoot Beach Club. The Premium Gulf View room was absolutely amazing, a breathtaking view of the ocean from sunrise to sunset. The room was very clear and nice. Check in and check out were a breeze. The replenishment with housekeeping was very easy and quick, they never had to enter the room. The pool area was very nice, although having a bathroom nearby would have been convenient. Parking was close, one spot available for each room. The only downfall was the single elevator which sometimes took 10min to come (only used this during loading/unloading all of our things, we took the stairs the rest of the time) Directly off the beach which made it even more perfect. We would definitely recommend Barefoot Beach Club and stay here again!

+1
We had a family occasion that brought us to the area and this hotel was close to where we needed to be.
I also selected it because the room we booked (beachfront deluxe) would be easy to get to without using an elevator every time we went to our room since the room we booked was in a building with only four stories. (Covid concern and trying to avoid elevators and too many other enclosed spaces, etc)
The room we booked was in one of two buildings and the one closest to the beach so the view was wonderful!
The room was spacious and more of a small condo than hotel room. It has a small kitchenette, nice size bedroom and a second room with a small desk. Each room had spacious closets so that was a perk for the two of us as far as space. There was a small sitting area with couch and chair as well as small kitchen table/chairs.
We arrived on a Saturday and avoided the pool Saturday and Sunday due to my allergy to children, and there were many! The beach wasn’t too crowded so we spent time there when we could on Saturday and Sunday. There were jellyfish galore so I would caution anyone going soon to be mindful of that.
Once the weekend guests checked out, the pool was much less crowded Monday and Tuesday so we took full advantage of it before we headed home. The hotel offered a late checkout for a small fee which was nice due to our flight time.
Obviously with Covid we knew there would be no housekeeping nor did we want anyone in our room during this time. They’ll leave a basket in your room and if you need something, you leave it outside your door and they leave whatever you need outside your door.
As far as restaurants and Covid precautions, some places seemed better than others about masks so if we felt uncomfortable somewhere we left or grabbed a carry out and brought it back to the room.
The room had a full size fridge and Publix nearby to stock whatever you need. Also a stove, microwave and coffeemaker (none of which we had occasion to use)
One thing I normally like with a property is a bar and restaurant on site but this time we specifically chose this property because of the lack of those. It just seemed like a property you could be more mindful of distancing and remaining diligent during a pandemic.
The only person I saw during our short stay was friendly and very helpful. I did call before our stay with some questions and whomever I talked to then was very helpful and polite.
The shower had awesome water pressure which I feel like is rare. The tub took a while to drain but that’s happened in a lot of properties I’ve stayed in.
Because the building we stayed in was the original of the two, it did show a bit of wear and tear such as a little peeling paint on the back of a bathroom door but not off putting enough not to recommend this property.
We had a great stay here, albeit short. And they seemed mindful about keeping their staff and guests healthy and safe during Covid.
Thanks for the nice stay!

We stayed in the newer 2 bedroom unit building on the lowest floor (2). The unit was amazingly clean and tiled throughout so it was easy to sweep up the sand we brought in. The view was fine, we could see a bit of beach and ocean and the pool was right off the balcony. The balcony was huge, 10 foot ceilings, modern lights, fixtures tile furniture, lots of room in the unit and bathrooms and large showers. 3 large TV's, plenty of room for all our clothes and beach toys. Full kitchen with ice maker and cookware. Coffee is a drip style.
Pool is close to the balcony, we could talk to our kids without shouting from the room. 2 very nice pools, but they got very crowded in the evening so we stayed away as guest were adhering to the social distancing standards. Facility is smoke free but folks were smoking on the balconies.
Beach is right there and beautiful, the real star of the show. The sunsets were amazing from the beach and the rooftop lounge (patio was open but the bar was closed due to COVID). We saw dolphins each day, some came closer than 50 feet away. We saw rays and even a gentle manatee came by and bumped into us! Lots of rentals a few blocks away for power toys and paddle boards Johns pass is a 5 minute walk to several ice cream shops and merchandise and dinning. We will 100% be coming back here next year.

We decided to take a last minute trip to the beach before our kids started school. Social distancing, safety and cleanliness were definitely a priority with this resort. There were 6 adults and 4 children in our group so we rented a 2 BR plus a studio suite. The 2 BR was very spacious and clean. We were missing a few items like a dustpan and broom as well as a can opener but the front desk and housekeeping were quick to make sure we got what we needed. The studio was also very clean and had all the necessary extras. The views from our room were spectacular and proximity to the beach was perfect. Our boys enjoyed the pool and would have stayed in it all day if we would have let them. There are a lot of local restaurants and shops within walking distance and a grocery store nearby. If you rent the 2BR, you’ll have a full kitchen so there really isn’t any reason to leave once you’ve purchased all your groceries. We can’t wait to return and feel like we’ve found the perfect vacation getaway.
