Great location for dinner and browsing old Melbourne. The room we stayed in was excessively noisy with air conditioning over the bed (not the main house). The biggest issue was the 4.30am and 5.15am trains that are within 1/4 mile and blow their whistle as they near Melbourne. The facililty is clean and simple.

For those of you who remember the song "The Train Went Through the Middle of the House," this is where it must have happened. There is a frieght train track several blocks away from the inn and trains rumble through every hour or so (4 AM to 11 PM) with a very loud whistle and "a million train cars." So... More

This older home has nicely furnished rooms, many antiques, is spotless and in a great location right on the river and within walking distance to historic downtown. It is peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. Extensive deck and patio, has a nice pool, a separate hot tub or you can just sit by the river and watch the wildlife go by if... More

Our comfortable poolside room gave us a beautiful view of the grounds [thanks to the one-way glass], but the inn's spacious backyard overlooking the river was even better. During our three-day stay we watched pelicans, herons, manatees, alligators, and even a porpoise. Plenty of dining options were within walking distance. Our favorites were Bella's [Italian] and Ichabod's, which overlooks the... More

My wife and I booked online. The web site was informative and truthful. The Inn was tastfully decorated, room quiet with many amenities. Our host, Bob, was charming, a great cook, and helpful when needed. What a convienient location too! Everything you could want or need was in walking distance. Also, if you love wildlife, there is a variety to... More

When I contacted Crane Creek Inn to make my reservation, they were very responsive in their communications. When I contacted them to cancel my reservation (due to illness), all of a sudden they were non-communicative, and they charged my credit card full price as if I was a "no show" (instead of half price - for a cancellation "within two... Crane Creek Inn is a great place to stay in Melbourne, FL. Bob Shearer, the Innkeeper is a very gracious and accommodating host! As for the Inn itself, it is extremely well maintained, comfortable and centrally located. The rates are reasonable, the location perfect.

Tucked up and nested on the bank overlooking the intercoastal waterway in Melboure Florida is the Crane Creek Inn. Bed and Breakfasts come and go but this jewel is rare. It's within walking distance of the historic downtown attractions of Melboure Florida. In all of the crazy unmanaged, thoughtless growth of Florida there are a few places that remain thoughtful... Six of us stayed here for two nights in August 2007 and we can only describe the experience as superb. The location is fantastic - right on the creek where you can see Manatee swimming and Osprey fishing - and Bob (the owner) did his utmost to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The pool was lovely and warm,... More
