Stayed here one night before a cruise. Took a cab from the airport but Ubered everywhere else. Let's say we got off to a bit of a rough start when our cab driver insisted on bringing our luggage into the lobby for us and left by staying "stay safe". The front desk is behind bullet-proof glass, so we weren't too...

You can't expect much when it a cheap motel BUT what it is is clean, decent & it did the trick. We overnighted in MIA for only 9 hours and we got exactly what we were looking for. The room was spacious and clean, it had a tv and fridge, clean bathroom. The bed on the other hand...a little lumpy...

Dear Melanie, Thank you for staying at the Shalimar and for your kind review. your comment are appreciated by all the Motel staff. The motel was build 1951, it is designated as historic building. Building in the 1950 did not have the bulding standard of today. Some travelers do not have curtesy to other travelers when it come to being...

So our Airbnb host cancelled on us one week before our trip, so scrambled to find something in our budget leading up to Boat Show weekend when all the prices double. The only thing I did not like about booking this place was that it was not easily accessible by public transport so we ended up taking a super shuttle...

We stayed here after driving in from Orlando to take a cruise. We arrived and were checked in within a few minutes. There is a $100 charged to your card to protect against smoking in the room. We we got to the room the TV was not working. I have never stayed in a hotel where I had to call...

The Motel has a good locations, altough if you want to get some sleep, it is not realy quiet. The walls are thin therefore you can listen the neighbour having a conversation in the middle of the night or your upper neighbour jumping in the room.

We stayed one night prior to a cruise. Room was clean and comfortable. Rate is reasonable. TIki went out of her way to drive us to and from a laundromat, as we were under the impression there was laundry facilities at the Shalimar. Staff very friendly. Breakfast very nicely served with options. Good location close the Starbucks, and on bus route....

A friend and I were planning a camping trip to Virginia Key, but our flight arrived late in Miami. We opted to stay at the Shalimar for a single night before heading out. The Good: Upon arrival the man at the check out counter was friendly. There were coupons for local activities in this area. We were on the first...

The property itself is in a nice quiet location. Although this is a motel, i have to give it two thumbs up for the cleanliness. Not what i was expecting. The bed was a bit lumpy, but comfortable. The shower was clean and stocked. Furnishing was modern......overall, i would use this motel again. Great location! Lots of places to eat...

Stayed here for one night after our trip to the Keys. Firstly I have to say all the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable. The only down side of the room was that there was no hairdryer. I thought that all Hotels/Motels provided hairdryers nowadays? Anyway my wife managed without it. The breakfast...

I stayed two (not consecutive) nights at the Shalimar. There is a Subway down the street and a Starbucks nearby. Clean and inexpensive for Miami. Good parking. The first room was tucked away and a little claustrophobic so I stayed upstairs facing the street. There is a bit of a chemical odor, I noticed, but not as much in my...
