Here's the deal...all you are getting with Hotel Ocean is location. That's it. Nothing more. It's true that it is hard to find and you have to walk through a restaurant to get to it. The lobby can't be larger than 15x30. We stayed in room 205 which was above average size but nothing too spectacular. Best of luck with...

Just stayed there for 3 nites, left 1 nite early. Terrible hotel, no standards, arrogant, dirty, overpriced and noisy. First, it's hard to find as it's right above an Italian restaurant. The restaurant takes up the entire first floor and they play loud, Italian opera, rock and pop songs from 10:30 am to 1:30 am in the morning. The rooms...

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel during WMC in March. The first room they put us in was in the "old tower" which was nice but a little grungy and we saw a few bugs so we asked if we could be put in the new tower. They gladly moved us into the new tower into an upgraded...

Yes the hotel is noisy, yes the parking is awful, yes the continental breakfast was a joke BUT the location is great and the rooms are fun! We loved the kitchen and well stocked mini bar for late night snacks and the funky decor of the room. The room was clean and comfortable. The TV is great and the glass...

Hotel Ocean has a very typical European feel, with a quaint courtyard in the middle of it. The rooms have a ton of character, being of fairly old construction, and the bathrooms are quite whimsical as they are tiled, with the showers all having an oval portico. We found the staff to be quite friendly and helpful, up to a...

The hotel itself is beautiful including the rooms and the location. The rest is not so good. You have to walk through the restaurant with waiters and hostess either yelling buon giorno or giving your dirty looks for not eating there. Plus when we did eat there it was not memorable nor very good. The room we asked for was...

Given what we were paying to stay at Hotel Ocean, we found over-all our stay to be dissappointing. We booked a deluxe ocean-view room and were given a tiny room at the back of the hotel with a view of the parking lot. The person checking us in never bothered to say anything, and rather sneakily hoped we wouldn't fuss....

We were nervous about our stay here because of other TripAdvisor reviews, but a co-worker suggested this place based on a June stay and said it was great. Based on reviews, it does seem that unless you are willing to pay $300/night and up, you have a mixed bag. We paid $150/night (all fees, taxes included). It is not new...

Ecclectic hotel with nice, small tuscan-like grounds. Not really one of the art deco's but still interesting. Rooms were huge with a large tiled bar with sink and 1/2 fridge. Bath had walk-in shower with rain fixture and a oval entry with glass blocks and high-end fixtures. Hardwood floors and platform bed. Very warm and inviting. Courtyard view. Courtyard had...

The previous review to mine was right on the mark. Here's the bottom line - if you're looking for relaxation and pampering, stay away from a boutique hotel in South Beach, particularly one right on the main drag. We found the rooms to be clean and affordable, and in a GREAT spot to get to some of the best restaurants...
