The hotel was very pretty. They kept our bags for us to go enjoy the pool/beach while our room was getting cleaned. Upon entering our room, we noticed a broken light and mold all over our ceiling. Called the front desk to have the mold at least looked at. All we were offered was for them to wipe it up... that was extremely unprofessional in my opinion. If the room was actually cleaned prior to us, I would’ve thought someone would’ve noticed at the very least the mold covering the ceiling. once the guy (won’t say his name) cleaned up the mold, he then proceeded to ask what we were getting into that night, which ones were married, and which one of us would give him their number. Once we declined he was obviously upset and said “that’s bullsh**.” Needless to say we were a bit sketched out to see him for the rest of the week. Outside of the mold being all over the ceiling, it was just your average hotel room. The room key wouldn’t work for the first 2 days of our trip. Eventually they sent security up to fix it. The pool was beautiful. It did suck trying to find chairs for my friends and I to be able to sit together. I’d say at least 50% were reserved and not being used for the people in the cabanas. If someone’s not renting a cabana then those chairs should be free game. Also, anyone could rent a cabana; even if they weren’t staying at the hotel. Heck, anyone could come enjoy the pool without being hotel guest. The door from the beach to the hotel was left wide open for anyone to access. There should be some kind of bracelet to show who’s actually a guest. At one point we watched a random guy come and check peoples chairs and bags. Also, don’t plan on being able to swim whenever you want. The pool closes at 645/7p and the literally chain the door to the beach so you can’t even walk along the beach at sunset. Lastly, all the drinks at the pool are $19 for maybe an 8oz drink.... At the end of the day, we paid a lot for a nice hotel that anyone and everyone could have access too. We should’ve saved our money staying off the beach and just coming to enjoy this places amenities.

Delisa at the front is wonderful and made our arrival feel like such a warm welcome. We arrived to the Shelborne at a peak time when the lobby was full of guests checking in and thought it would be a stressful experience to check in but thanks to Delisa it was smooth and pleasant. She’s awesome ! The hotel itself seems newly renovated and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Great experience

I booked the Shelborne on Collings ave in Miami for my birthday stay and I am very disappointed they are operating on a very short staff and amenities but charging full fees. The rooms are not that clean they are quite stuffy. I paid for the room in full upon booking however there was a $700.00 hold on my credit card with a $43.00 per day charge for a resort fee that includes two towels and two chairs the umbrella is $22.00 extra per day; we were escorted to a seating area on the beach and the furniture was not sanitized before or after use. No coffee makers or microwaves in the rooms, cleaning is only every three days but house keeping knocks daily to see if anything was needed and with the little being covered under “cleaning” I opted to just get fresh towels and I will do the rest; there was change on the floor near the bed from a previous guest that is still there as I write my review. The room floors are filthy make sure you keep something on your feet. The bathroom is nice could use a good cleaning and the shower is a disaster waiting to happen the shower floors are very slippery and the door swings two ways with nothing to hold on to if you lose your balance you will be on a second trip to the hospital that is. Because it is a beach resort the elevators should be wiped every time the door opens, I went out to breakfast and when I came back and caught the elevator the Butt print of someone wearing swim wear exiting the elevator was still on the wall and yes I took a photo. The outside setting is nice but they do not wipe it down enough. The lobby is nice the hotel staff is friendly the outside view is beautiful, it could be a great place to stay in better times because it’s right on the strip and with no food or buffet at the hotel everything is in walking distance. I know times are tight but comping a beach umbrella and waiving the resort fees would have been a nice perk for a ghost stay.

rooms in this hotel have no ice bucket and the hotel has no ice machine. Bring a soft cooler. However be aware it is not allowed at the pool. So be prepared to play cat and mouse with the food venue. They automatically place a twenty percent service charge on everything. Drinks in the hotel are fifteen dollars for a short Eight ounce drink. Half price Happy Hour drinks only include sweet sugar with minimal alcohol. Two pina coladas during Happy Hour will cost you just shy of forty dollars. Ice is available from the bar only. Service with no smiles. No food or drinks from outside are allowed in the pool area. The food is good and a good value. Don’t buy the alcohol and you will save a lot of money. Otherwise, The hotel is clean and nice. If you have a lot of money and don’t care how you spend it you will love this place only if you want club music blasting in your ear all week long. Excellent pool. Excellent location on the beach. Watch out for the tiki sharks.
