We stayed here for a Birthday/Christmas treat , it was stunning , Carl was great, the log fire and Christmas tree made the stay for us, beautiful lodge, deserved the 4 in a Bed title it won, highly recommended, lots of places to see in the area, local pubs were lovely, can even get takeaways delivered, oh also breakfast delivered at 0700 in a basket to your door, the whole experience was magical .

Wow! That’s all I can really say about this hidden gem. I booked this for part of my husbands 40th birthday earlier in the year and as a mini moon as we got married the previous Friday. This is a treat all adults need. The pods are just beautiful and perfect. They are immaculate inside and out and attention to detail was outstanding. Cannot wait to go in the summer

Upon arrival look out for the sign for Dale Abbey Cattery, the lodges are located on the same site. We were greeted by Carl who was very welcoming, he talked to us about our plans and recommended some places to eat such as the Durham Ox which is a must if you can make a reservation (we went twice and loved it). The lodges are set in beautiful surroundings overlooking the lake, each lodge has its own table and chair to use directly outside which we used to take it the views on an evening. Carl has decorated the lodges with great care and attention to detail, they’re simply stunning. We enjoyed our stay so much we had booked to return within 6 months before we had checked out. In terms of local attractions, we visited the Heights of Abrhaim, Denby Pottery and the steam train at Matlock. They’re all in easy reach of Driftwood Lodges. We felt we had recharged our batteries and was able to spend quality time together in a beautiful setting.
