We were not sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Check in was simple and we were offered cooling drinks on our arrival. The cabins are raised on stilts with a raised walkway around the site. There is a central eating and bar area...More
We had high expectations of our accommodation on the Lower Kinabatangan River given the other reviews we had read on Trip Advisor but sadly our experience of Bilit Rainforest Lodge was extremely disappointing.
On arrival we were not greeted in a particularly friendly way and...More
We enjoyed our trip with Sandakan Wildlife Adventure Tours a lot. Everything was perfectly organized. The stay at Bilit Adventure Lodge was great. The food is delicious and it's great you have a few dishes to choose from. The dining area is nice as you...More
Rating is 4 because of the jungle adventure which we lucked out on! If I rated it all...it would be a 3. Stayed 2 nights with a tour.
The food was a little dull. Not that much variety. Being Vegetarian we ate copious amounts of...More
Like most guests, we were here to see the wildlife and Bilit surpassed our expectations.

Hi Darryl. Bilit lodge is a few hours drive from Sepilok where the Orang u tang sanctuary is. If you want to stay near the Orang Sanctuary- try Sepilok Jungle Resort - we loved it. Bilit lodge (loved this place too) is on the river and it does include the boat rides along (2 one at sunset - one at sunrise)the river to see birds, crocs, elephants, several kinds of monkeys. one of the guys does a night jungle walk - which you pay extra for - I think it was about $10 Aus. and you can buy beer :) and snacks at the lodge. the overnight fee includes your dinner and breakfast (which was good) don't expect 5 star at either place, there are 5 star places as well. up to you
