The adventure started with a lobby full of flat-earthers roaming around without a mask, hotel employees included. On the way to my room, I passed by a group of what is probably the target audience of this hotel... people chain-smoking cigarettes and drinking energy drinks while explaining to each other that they won't take the vaccine because they don't want to put foreign substances in their bodies. I believe there was no attempt at irony. Once I got into my room and dropped my bags, I immediately got on the wifi and searched the internet to see if the couch in my room was on the sex offender list. It turns out that it wasn't, but not for a lack of trying. Speaking of DNA, the body hair collection in the corners of the bathroom floor was impressive. The carpet is old, sad, and gross. I considered putting my clothes in the drawers but they failed the wipe test. The remote was sitting on the dresser under a Lysol sign bragging about how the hotel is doing a great job of disinfection. However, the sludge build-up on the remote told a different story. That night I used a plastic bag to turn on the tv with the disgusting remote. On day two I brought back disinfecting wipes and the first four wipes were all covered in black gunk. Wipe number five came up clean. The music at the pool plays until 11 PM and you can hear it over the TV in your room. At 10:30 there was one man at the hot tub surrounded by crushed Bud Light Seltzer cans trying to have a drunk-dial facetime conversation. The booze and music required it to be a fairly shouty conversation. I'm not sure the relationship is going to work out, but best of luck to Steve and Debbie. Building 6 is rooting for you. The staff that goes into your room doesn't wear a mask. The decor is bomb shelter chic with dark, dirt stucco walls. A lamp was broken. The room has a smell of an old sponge. My guess is the album, "Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness," was written after the Smashing Pumpkins stayed at this hotel while on tour. No proof on this, just a hunch.

Hotel's Favourite
Great service from the front desk while checking in. The individual checking us in was so helpful. I had a very confusing request and she went above and beyond what was needed. She kept apologizing for the delay in getting the rooms. She tried and tried to get the two rooms near each other. The hotel was extremely full and was able to get us close enough. Ms. Nguyen said she only been with the Doubletree for about 1 month. She and the Front Office Manager Jacob were so helpful, that I didn't mind the wait, even though we were tired. We arrived around 11 pm. The hotel is in a great location. Sea World is "walking distance, probably just over a mile. No resort fees, free continental breakfast. We also received a $24 food credit but this may only be for the HHonors Gold and Platinum members. While we were there, they didn't charge for parking either. Not sure if this was the norm but it sure did help keeping the travel cost down. In short. The hotel is showing age but the perks and service make this hotel an excellent rating. Pros Front desk service No resort fee Free Continental breakfast (coffee, fruit and muffin/bagel) Free water with coupons provided by the front desk. 2 bottles per coupon Location - walk to Sea World. 10 minutes to Universal Food credit up to $24 per day but maybe only for HH Gold and Platinum No parking charge while we were there. Not sure if this is the norm Cons.. not really a con Room showing it's age but who goes to Orlando to stay in a room. We were gone from 9am - 11pm.

Terrible! 0 stars! I will NEVER support this establishment again. This is our second time staying here and once again we were sorely disappointed. This time, the digital key didn’t work when we were checking in. So I had to go inside when I was trying to avoid people! It’s a pandemic! There were customer service reps with no mask on. Then, the sheets and comforters were dirty! I have pictures! Then the other bed had wet spots! That’s not the worst part! Someone came and changed out the towels and threw away our soap. So we needed soap AND new sheets. I messaged the hotel on the app at 6:33pm. That was after I called housekeeping from the room 21 times. I called the front desk from my cell phone 6 times. This was all because no one answered. Then, when I finally spoke to someone, they said they would bring us soap in 15 minutes…NEVER DID. We left our room at 7:15pm and still no one came to bring us sheets or soap. We returned to our room at 10:50pm, only to find that we STILL had NO soap or new sheets. We went to the front desk at almost 11pm with a toddler! Waited for a manger to speak to us. That took over 15 minutes for us to speak to one. By this time we are livid! We are then told by the manager that we can get sheets from him. WHAT? You want us to walk back to our room after 11pm, with a toddler, carrying hotel sheets?? Are you kidding me? We get back to the room, a bag is dropped in the middle of the floor filled with sheets. I assume. I never opened it. We had to return to the front desk AGAIN because no one answers the phone or the app texting. To tell them we are not putting the sheets on ourselves and we STILL have no soap! We won’t even talk about the lack of parking, the rust in the bathroom, the lack of towels and wash rags needed in the room, and just how overall it was a terrible experience. We will NEVER EVER return. Fool me twice, shame on us! Never again!

The staff was very friendly. The only problems we saw was that the outlets were coming off of the wall, the safe in our room did not work, the shower door would not close properly, and the dresser doors did not close correctly either.
