When we arrived the staff was super friendly and even gave our dogs treat bags to welcome them. Loved That! There were fresh towels when requested, the breakfast was decent, and the view was AMAZING! However, this place definitely needs some TLC. My sliding glass door required that we lift it and muscle it to open and close it. The...

First off, a shout out to Frank, who was our go to person this week. He left early tonight, so I couldn't thank him on person, but he is the ideal face of the Makai. As the title indicates, we come here for the old Florida feel. It is like a several hundred room bed and breakfast. There are inconveniences...

We arrived at 11 am. After check in and payment of our 3 night stay, they promised us that the room would be ready around 1 pm. So we came back at 1 pm and still our room wasn't cleaned. We had to wait in the lobby to far after 3 pm to get our room. After burning almost all...

We wanted a private balcony ocean front for a reasonable rate and we got the room, for a decent-but-could-be-better price. Considering a neighboring hotel offers almost the same amenities for over $30 less per night for a nicer property (it was booked, though, for the date I wanted). Architecture looks vintage 60s or early 70s, parking is quite tight but...

We have stayed here 3 times, sadly this will probably be our last. The resort is run down and sorely in need of a good cleaning, particularly outside. We had an ocean front balcony, railing, table and chair arms were black with dirt. I shudder to think what was on the fabric of the chairs on the balcony. The chaise...

HORRIBLE! Roaches, dirt and debris under bed, table and in refrigerator! I plan on posting pics and comments on every site I can. This place needs restoration BAD! FURTHEST thing from a Resort! LAZY staff! Spike headed guy that worked in office was cocky and rude! Kiddie pool had busted tile on side and never cleaned. DANGEROUS! Balcony was grimy...

Great views from oceanfront rooms. Good balconies. The kitchenettes are fairly well stocked, with full range (4 burners and an oven) although the burners inevitably tilt. :-) Full-sized coffeemaker is a nice touch! Ice-cube trays in the fridge. Some of the rooms have huge, senseless units of some kind -- they are about four feet wide, three feet deep, and...

This is our second time staying here and I cannot stress enough how great it is. The rooms are clean and comfortable, amazing view of the ocean, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and best of all, walks on the beach. Lots of parking space, rooms cleaned daily & fresh towels and linen replaced. A terrific place for the whole family...

To be completely honest, when we first got out of the car I was a little worried. The outside could definitely be cleaned up. But the staff we checked in with were very friendly. We got to our room and instantly inspected for bed bugs and there was no trace of them. It's not the nicest hotel I've stayed at,...

If you're not on spring break (or in that age group), please don't stay here. The entire facility is rundown, dirty, smelly & just outdated. The place needs to be gutted. The furniture is all chipped & broken. The bathroom is just plain disgusting. Shower curtain moldy, no stopper for the drain, etc. etc. etc. Had a room with a...
