Shady characters in the parking lot. We did not feel safe with people in hooded sweat shirts covering their faces hanging around in the parking lot at night. Hotel should have security, and not allow loitering, invest in better lighting if they would like to create a welcoming safe environment for their visitors.

All around it was good. Its a 3star motel. Not really a resort persay. Its better to stay in the rooms that are attached to the lobby area with the couches and pool tables. The rooms are 40 more a night but its worth it. No breakfast obviously. No real coffee pots availble. Premade garbadge coffee packets that you cant make your own coffee with. The area the motel is in is run down abandoned industrial parks. There is a nuclear power plant right there across the water thats way visible from the pool area. They don't show you in the pictures obviously. There s nothing around the motel but a good resteraunt called corkys grill. Awesome sea food and gf steak. The staff was friendly and they will provide extra towels and supplies if need be. Its a very old area . st Augustine is 55 min from there. Salt springs is 1omin from the motel. Blue springs is 55 min or so. You can tell the motel(resort) used to be happening back in the day. Now it seems run down all around outside the motel. Alot of abandoned buildings and stores everywhere you go We slept good there. And our window was looking at the lake. All in all it was a nice stay. The landscapers at 730 am was noisey but not to bad. It would be more respectful to the guests to have the landscaping worked on after 9 am. Reasonable time. When i go back to visit the Springs. (ginnie spring s. Rainbow....three sisters....silver springs ...ect) i will stay closer gainsville. You have to get to the Springs in the mornings before maximum capcity is reached. Otherwise everywhere you go will be blocked off. If i was gonna go to st Augustine i would stay closer to there.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback we truly do appreciate when guest are able to give us their honest opinions, as it allows us to know what we are doing correctly and what we need to work on. I do agree we are in need of bringing back life to the area which is hopefully the plan in the very near future. I love that you got to go to the springs as I personally feel they are some of the best attractions to Florida. Thank you again for staying with us and for providing feedback on your stay.

The room (130) was spotlessly clean! The bed was comfortable, though getting a little worn. The water was good and the water pressure was excellent. I was impressed at how fast the hot water was available. Room had small fridge, occasionally noisy when the compressor came on. Small microwave. Small TV with excellent reception and many available channels. No highway noise at all, but neighbors' TV could be heard until they turned it off. Not sure if the insulation was too thin or they just had the TV turned up too loud. I use ear plugs anyway so I had no problem sleeping. The check in person was extremely helpful. Interestingly, there was a pool table in the office area.

Booked a 6 night stay due to jome renovation. Stayed one night and checked out. Diety sticky floors, filthy furniture (couch and desk chair). Hair on walls in shower. Ripped bedding. Breakfast was very limited. Toaster didnt work properly. Front desk was kind but blamed condition of room on the workers who stay there. Not an excuse. This is your hotel..keep it clean. Left after one night. It is shame as the river is beautiful.

awesome hotel, very clean, very quiet, views of river/sunrise the best. If you have to stay near Palatka then this is the place, just off sr 17 north of town. Very large room with giant tv on wall. This is on my favorites list from now on.

Great price. It had crisp AC and clean room, killed a few bugs, but you are by a river so not shocked. Nice older area, they say they are remodeling the restaurant and other areas, but did not see any workers or progress. Not really a resort, as it has long term residents month to month folks staying on the property.

Myself and my love stayed here for a weekend and it was the absolute best. We booked the lowest rate online and when we arrived the sweet blonde behind the counter suggested we spend the extra $20 for the upgraded river front view! She was exceptional and the suggestion was spot on the best! It was a delight meeting her and speaking with her to the point I went back the next day to commend the Manager on the front desk girls hospitality skills. Imagine my shock when the sweet blonde was at the desk again and when I asked to see the manager she smiled and said well sir that is me what can I do for you? EXCELLENT that means their leader exemplifies customer service and shows her staff the proper way to handle guest! Hotel is older but they are making improvements and who cares really its clean and on the river!

I absolutely LOVED reading your review! I know that it was just as much a delight meeting you and your wife for me as it was you! The river speaks to my soul too so I love when a guest gets the chance to wake up with that sunrise over looking the water or when they get to take out a boat and really enjoy what the St. Johns River has to offer! I am beyond thrilled you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you guys this fall (I seen the future reservation :-) ) Please do let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay the best again! Thank you so much for your review and for your continued business! YOU ARE APPRECIATED!

Unfortunately this motel is misrepresented. We stayed in the west building, booked two rooms. One room the toilet didn’t flush and the bathroom sink didn’t drain, the towel rod was missing and no telephone in the room. The other room the mattress/bed was at a horrible slant so needless to say we had a horrible sleep. The sheets were very worn, ours had a few holes due the thin material. The air conditioning motors were also very noisy and didn’t cool; unable to control the fan from low to high. The noise was very disturbing and overall, the rooms were very unclean. The continental breakfast didn’t look very appetizing as well. A true waste of our money.

As a manager I am always disappointed when a guest does not enjoy their stay with us. I always wish I had been given the opportunity to fix the issues or concerns or to at least address them. It is unfortunate that I was not able to do this with you during your stay and I genuinely apologize that you left so dissatisfied. I will continue to strive for better at my property in hopes that no one else endures what you did during your stay. Thank you for your feedback!

There are certain people that are built for hospitality and there are certain people that do not show a hospitable bone in their body. Jessica was built for it! She showed us grace, compassion, and exuberated customer service to us from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. My heart ached for her dealing with one of the guests that was there, the man went around telling people his toilet didn’t have a lid (none of them do it is a basic standard U shaped seat no lid is required) then he proceeded to yell at her for 10 minutes straight never letting her speak what so ever. However, she still smiled and still remained calm. This guest was insane the man called the police over towels that I know for a fact the front desk gave him. It is sad how some people feel so intitled. Nonetheless I wanted to make sure that I took the time to post a review about how exceptional Jessica and her entire staff was. When I return I will make it a point to let them know they are the reason we will continue to choose this hotel when we travel to Palatka.

The guestroom floor was dirty, we asked to have it cleaned the next morning. It was still dirty when we returned that night. We had to go to front desk for soap, as the maid had not replenished it. The second day, we left to go on an all day boating trip at 10:00 a.m. We returned at 10:30 p.m. that night to find no towels or wash cloths in the room. We. asked the night desk clerk for towels. He refused, saying that there were towels in the room in the morning. The only towels that were there in the morning were the used ones that were left from the night before. The insinuation was that we had stolen the towels even though we had not been in the room all day and we had left it in the morning, before the room was made up. I asked to speak to Jessica the manager. The night desk clerk texted her, but she would not talk to me, telling him that she would handle it in the morning and not to issue us towels - still no towels. I finally called the local police, so that there would be a police report should the hotel accuse us of stealing the towels. After the police left, the male desk clerk finally gave us towels and shampoo. It was now after midnight. After a very bad night's sleep, we finally met Jessica, the manager, who was surly and non-apologetic. She said that she had a video of our being issued towels at the front desk. I asked to see the video, but she refused. We then checked out. Other problems with the room were: no lid on the toilet seat; no alarm clock; a Kleenex holder, but no Kleenex; a towel rack in lavatory area missing; cover plates were missing on electric wall outlets (safety issue); the blackout drape was not attached at ends; there were no laundry bags; and no wooden or plastic hangers in the closet. The new owners need to learn how to operate a hotel and/or find a competent manager. The one bright spot was Samantha, the desk clerk who greeted us when we arrived.

As a a manager any guest leaving unsatisfied is disappointing. I apologize that you were not satisfied with your stay. As my past reviews indicate customer service is extremely important to me in all aspects. I have nor would I ever decline a guest any type of items that they would need in their room. I would like to point out that when a customer brings a pet into a room (we typically do not allow pets but made an exception for you) it is difficult to keep the floor clean as the animal hair tends to get all over the place. I would also like to point out that I would never tell a guest I have video proof of anything as that lacks professionalism on every level. I also have no records of the police being to the property but do hope that you did not waste their incredibly valuable time on something as small as towels. I am deeply apologetic in terms of your stay and even more so because I was not given the opportunity to correct the issues in anyway.
