The Sleep Inn was conveniently located with a very short drive near my relative's home. There is a Mexican restaurant nearby as a well as a gas station with mini mart.The queen bed was very comfortable in a huge albeit worn-looking room. There were a few things lacking. They don't do wake-up calls. You must use your room key to get you into the lobby after 11:30 PM. They would not take postcards to be mailed at front desk. Their breakfast was adequate but some of the offerings were tasteless. Nevertheless I appreciate the breads and yogurt since I don't eat eggs and meat. Can't comment on the outdoor pool as I never visited. An adjoining guest had his/her TV on loudly all night my last night. Mentioned it at front desk. I did not expect them to do much but perhaps a wellness check for that guest was in order.

Every time I come to Palatka I stay here…the beds are comfortable and I get a good nights sleep…only issue was cosmetic. There was a hole in the wall other than that …everything was great. Also they have breakfast

Clean and quiet. The breakfast was fresh and well supplied. Stayed here about 10 years ago when it first opened. Things can take a beating in ten years but everything was in order, tidy and kept up. Ice machine on 3rd floor was being replaced. At 10pm Saturday everyone (me too) that was out of their room was locked out. Something happened and all key cards quit and nobody was at the front desk for about 45 minutes then someone showed up and issued us new key cards. Earlier that same day I lost my phone. Located phone at Palatka PD and picked it up next day at the Blue Crab festival. After reading reviews I thought this was going to be bad.

Upon arrival at the Sleep Inn and suites in Palatka, we checked the room for which we paid 100 dollars a night, and discovered that there was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom and no plastic liners in the trash cans. We were informed by the "cleaning" person and the front desk that they were all out of these items. Unfortunately we had booked for 2 nights and on the second night we returned to find we had no towels! I went to the desk to complain and received towels but still no soap shampoo or garbage bags. The following morning, I tried to get coffee to go as we were thankfully leaving, only to find that there were no coffee cups! The problem seems to be that people are living there full time and they apparently hoard these items for their own use. They use the luggage carts to haul groceries. the elevators are always in use full of people taking their dogs for a walk or whatever. The common areas are filthy. The pool had just been cleaned but nobody cleaned the area around it which I discovered after I stepped on a used Band Aid! PLEASE whatever you do, keep driving! Do not stop here!

This hotel has gone WAY downhill. To begin, a manager was at the front desk and brushed us off when we walked up to the desk to check in, saying someone who was already helping another guest with an extensive issue would help us. All other employees we ran into were similarly rude and dismissive.
The hallways are dank, musty, and unclean.
There is mold in the stairwells.
The rooms are barely cleaned, with dust on many surfaces and gathering of gunk in corners.
The fixtures are all loose in the bathroom, giving the impression that changing the temp in the shower will cause the handle to fly off.
In addition, we had terrible neighbors shouting at 2am and when we called the front desk, absolutely nothing was done to resolve this.
I would have changed hotels had the town not been sold out due to a bass fishing tournament.

I would like to make you aware of some shortcomings regarding my stay at Sleep Inn and Suites, Palatka FL on 6/25 and 6/26 2021. I reserved a 1 BR suite on-line, but when I arrived at 8 pm on 6/25, I was informed that the room was not clean, and that they didn't have any suites available. After driving 16 hours from Pennsylvania, that was not good news. The gentleman said "Can't get anyone to work around here anymore"... I told him I would take a different room, and he offered me a room with 2 beds which I accepted. I was assigned to room 220. I was given an "emergency" key because they ran out of keys. The microwave does not work, and the TV has no power plug. The carpet is dirty and the bed skirts look to be 30 years old. The walls have large patches, so paint would help. The bed was comfortable, and water pressure was great. The "hot" breakfast was dismal, a few pieces of sad looking ham and no cooked eggs. I inquired at the desk if my suite would be ready today. The response was that there were none available this morning, but she would leave a note for the afternoon crew. I'm not sure who runs this place, but it is clear that they take no pride or responsibility in assuring that guests have the best experience.
In summary, I would not recommend this property to anyone. Compared to other Choice Hotels I have stayed in, this one does not meet the standards.

Reserved a room directly for 3 nights mid February. Arrived about 11AM and asked if we could check in early as we were going to be at a music festival until approximately 10PM, The clerk said no but they were over booked so would be best to come in about 3PM since when they are overbooked its first come first served, even though they had my credit card and a confirmation. After working with the clerk she said she could assign a room even though we we couldn't register. We did come back about 4PM and there was a line at the desk. The "manager" was fumbling with both computers trying to do something for the first person in line. Just stared into the computer screen for about 10 minutes. Then made a phone call and shortly a clerk showed up and they seemed to resolve what was perplexing the manager, seems it was a printer problem so they finally decided to tell the customer to pick up his print out later. During our wait we overheard that they were 17 rooms overbooked. How can this happen in a 100 room property? When it was our turn we explained we had a room "saved" for us, the response was that it was not. After a bit she discovered we could have the room we had saved so we got keys and left for our event. After that with 7 people in line behind us the "manager" left that poor clerk alone with all those issues and left the property. Believe it or not that was the best part of our visit. When we came back about 10PM and went to the room what a shock for a $140 a night property. The halls hadn't been vacuumed, major patches in hall walls and a musty smell. The room was made up but seemed not clean. I immediately killed three German roaches, the smoke detector was missing with two wires just hanging down. the lamps and bathroom light fixtures horrible with some kind of something all over the metal parts. After killing three more roaches I called the front desk and asked about another room and why. Of course they had no rooms and said no one in town had any rooms but I could check out if I wanted. There was no hair dryer, the coffee maker was defective, there was only one package of coffee, the carpet was terrible and there were some kind of spots on the ceiling, and the TV remote had scotch tape holding the batteries in. We made a reservation for the next two nights at another hotel indicating we had problems where we were. He said that we were probably at the Sleep Inn. Nuff said!

I have never and will NEVER stay at a Sleep Inn & Suites again nor will I ever recommend them. I frequently stay in hotels and have never had this many issues within a stay, let alone just an overnight. An hour within checking in the toilet stopped working. I went to the front desk and they told me they couldn’t do anything about it because maintenance wouldn’t be back until 8am the next morning. She wrote a letter for the morning shift and nobody ever came to fix it. The Lamps in the room had rust on them and wouldn’t hold a charge on my phone. I went to get ice on my floor but the ice and vending machine had been taken out. So out of convenience I had to go to the next level in order to get ice. Once I could get ice I noticed that it had black specks in it so I couldn’t even use it. There was also some leftover food in the sink in bathroom. I went to have breakfast the following morning and again was disappointed. The eggs were watery and bland. The ham was dry and looked like it was from the previous morning breakfast. The bagel was also rubbery and old tasting. It smelled like mold in the hallway and I could see stains as well. Finally our TV kept skipping channels and wouldn’t turn off so we had to unplug it. Though the staff was cordial I still would not recommend this chain to friends or family.

I had a truck driver who had to stop for the night due to an overwidth load. I booked this hotel because it was closest (0.3 miles) to where he could park his rig for the night. I got my confirmation number and our credit card was charged. When our driver parked and walked there he was told there was no room available even though we are Choice Hotel members and I had a confirmation. The lady at the front desk would not take his phone to talk to me but said the manager had overridden her and booked the rooms even though earlier she showed we had one. They want to place the blame on the reservation desk but they told me the hotel comes up as no rooms available and they are not able to book it if there isn't rooms. There is a problem here. What really made me upset was the lady told my driver to leave the hotel and I was never given the opportunity to take up my concerns with the manager. I should have taken notice when I heard all of the back ground noise and the desk clerk talking to the other workers in stead of me when I called to verify we had a room earlier in the afternoon. Very unprofessional place of business. For your bookings call the Holiday Inn right next door. They found my driver a room.

Check in was good, but down hill from there. When we get to the room we turned the tv on it did not work, called the desk they said they would have someone to look at it. We stayed two days and no one repaired or replaced it. Wife goes to dry her hair no hair dryer? Talk to the desk they said oh we have to get permission from the manager. The last issue was the black mold growing in the shower. Sorry, I did not mention the breakfast the worst one in my travels, waffle maker with no syrup, hot breakfast was the cheapest tasting stuff.
