There were cockroaches everywhere and in the microwave plus there were bed bugs on the quilt. It smelled so bad.the mirror was covered in hand prints.the bath tub was so dirty too. The bathroom had bugs crawling everywhere.and the doors had strange signs plus the were really dirty to.when we went to check out of the room the lady that met us to check in hid behind the door because she knew that there were cockroaches everywhere.so this Indian man came up to us and said that he lives in something like that.we asked if it was ok and he said yes it’s ok. Then when we got inside the car we started making reviews about what we was there.we started calling Priceline and there was a computer talking to us and repeating everything that it already said. We reported to Florida pest control and they did nothing. When we went on the site it was 60 dollars when we booked it now the price is $40 maximum.

i called to inquire about staying for 2 weeks, and asked if the rooms were clean. i did not understand his accent or response so asked to speak to someone who spoke english. i said are the rooms clean. "yes the rooms are cleaned". i asked if they had roaches because i dont want to stay where there are roaches. he said "there are roaches all over florida in every hotel and apartment". i asked if they had a bug spray company come in and spray to kill the bugs, and he hung up on me. true story. you cant make that up.

Overpriced for the season ft $115 per night; NO DISCOUNTS; Nothing at all like the pictures posted. BAD List very long: tv remote needed batteries; no working light bulb in entry light to room; no cups or glasses of any kind; no microwave, phone but not working so had to use my own phone to call desk for light bulb and batteries, no top sheet for bed, (Thankfully I had my own sheets and a sleeping bag in car) so put those on top of the bed, bath-shower peeling paint and rust, mildew in tile cracks. Before as Red Roof, it was cheap but decent. I only stayed because it was late and I was tired. This is the absolute pits. Never again.

I stayed at this Red Roof for three nights over Labor Day weekend 2005.

This motel is on an interior highway some distance from the Tampa airport. Traffic in both directions a bit south of this motel can be beastly during daylight hours.

Check-in from my web reservation (Red Roof website) was exceptionally smooth, and the staff accommodated my tax-exemption form on the spot even with no prior warning. Two FedEx boxes (from two sources) were waiting for me. The managerette on duty was very congenial and conversational; I was treated like an old friend.

My room was, as requested, "quietest possible, highest floor" (in this case, 2nd, facing the back parking lot). As with most Red Roofs, the room was comfortable enough with no frills, and nice on the inside. The water pressure (shower, toilet) could have been stronger.

Some of the room doors squeaked, and their hinges could have stood a soaking with WD-40. (Most hotels/motels really ought to do this three times a year.)

On the last night (Saturday) of my stay, a group of teenagers (who may or may not have been paying guests -- I think that they were) hung out drinking beer and playing music in the parking lot. They weren't dangerous or rowdy, but just inconsiderately partying, and they were quite drunk out of their senses. I called the front office, and the manager promised either to come down herself or to call the police. Very soon, a police cruiser appeared (quietly), and in about a minute the situation was cleared up. I suspect that this scenario was atypical and due to its being a holiday weekend.

Checkout was smooth and friendly. I left with the distinct sense that I had gotten what I'd paid for, but that better is certainly available. There are other places to lodge in Palm Harbor and the communities south/north on the highway, and while I would not rule out another stay at this Red Roof, I'd be receptive to looking at other options.

Stayed here mid-week for three nights - had family in the area. I didn't stay in one of the newly renovated rooms so it was a bit old, but clean. The air conditioning was hard to regulate - either too hot or too cold. I don't know if the remodeled rooms are more expensive but I was at another Red Roof Inn in Savannah that was in much better shape (and more expensive).

The price in the mid $40 a night range was good. The staff was very helpful. I had first received a room that was a smoking room even though I specified non-smoking. They changed it with no fuss.

My only complaint was that I had noisy guests nearby. They had their room open with load music playing. They were standing on the balcony drinking beer and talking until about 11:30PM one night.

However, it was a good deal if you 're looking to just find a room with no frills.

Listen to the reviews of the Tampa hotels and stay here in Palm Harbor. This Red Roof was very pleasant! VERY clean, friendly staff and nice continental breakfast. went swimming in the very enjoyable pool. Area was free of vandalism and people were friendly. Good restaurants close by. Our next stay in the Tampa area will definately be spent again at this Red Roof. Thank you for GREAT accomodations !....We stayed 5-days.

Me and my wife stayed at this Red Roof Inn in March and couldn't be more satisfied. When we asked the staff at the front desk about directions and some local attractions, they went out of their way to help us with suggestions and driving directions.

As for the quality of the rooms, it was a good value for the price. We stayed upstairs in one the newly renovated rooms and it was very comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were in good condition and the surrounding area felt like a safe environment.

The pool area was good, but perhaps they could use new patio furniture. Other than that, the hotel was great. Upon checking out, I spoke with the manager about how well they accomodated us during our week long stay, and he was most friendly as well.

If you are travelling on the road or simply looking for a basic place to stay while on vaccation or visiting family, I would highly reccomend the Red Roof Inn, Palm Harbor.

After making a reservation on their website and getting a confermation number ...i thought i was all set for a wonderful trip to see my girlfriend for her birthday. Little did after having a wonderful flight and looking forward to checking in and going out with my girlfriend that this hotel would basicly leave me with no room. I went to the hotel with my confermation number and I was told the amount i booked the hotel no long will be honored ...i booked the hotel the night before and they told me it was an old rate...anyhow after asking to speek to the manager ...the manager said he would only give me the room at double the price. and that the room wouldnt even be the one i booked. it would be a smoking room with one bed. Anyhow after getting insulted at for asking them to honor what i had booked they told me to get off the property. I call red roof inn and they told me this is individualy owned and that they have had many complaints. I was left with no room for four days. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! BEWARE!!!

My mother and I had stayed here several times in the past few years, while we were visiting family and enjoyed staying at this motel. The location is great right on US-19 with Outback next door and a handful of other restaurants up and down the road. There is no cont'l breakfast, except coffee and maybe a banana. They have newly renovated rooms which are very nice and the staff are very friendly. The pool is good. Ask for a front room so your not looking at the back parking lot. The motel seems very safe. More so than the Knights Inn up the road is. If you don't mind Florida traffic and away from Busch, St. Pete, Clearwater Beach, or Tampa this is the best place. It is the spring training home for the Blue Jays. Usually this motel is probably for people with family in the area, like for us it is. Have a nice stay!

BEWARE BEWARE! I would like to comment on my experience at this hotel in which I stayed feb. 23-28, 2012.  I was Not impressed with the room when I first arrived but with no other options (peak time for spring training and snow birds) I had to gut it out.  I though for $40 a night, how bad could it be???  Boy was I wrong!  After the first night in the room, I noticed a small blood stain on the sheets and immediately went to the maid and asked for my sheets to be changed in which she did.( Note the maid was not dressed so professional)The next day I started experiencing some itchy spots on my ankles and upper legs but thought nothing of it as Florida is notorious for Mosquitos and other bugs and I had been outside that day.  The morning I was to check out I was awakened by my alarm only to find a small insect on my arm in which I flicked off and thought nothing of.  It was on the plane flight home that I began to get uncomfortable itching my back and arms.  After a long flight home to California, I stepped in the shower and my wife said WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR BACK?  Panicked I said I don't know why?  I could tell her voice was panicked!  I looked in the mirror only to find out that my back was covered in swollen red bumped and almost unbearable to not itch!  After a visit to the doctor, I was informed that I have bed bug bites as was asked if I was in a hotel or traveling recently.  Go figure!   Now it's starting to come together,  the bug I flicked off, the itchy legs, the blood spot on the sheets, all signs of bed bugs after I did a little research...  I am really upset and in discomfort as I look like I have the chicken poks on my whole body.  Yes, it has spread in coming days. Never, ever, have I experienced anything like this in my travels and 1000's of hotels my job has taken me across the country.  I have called and spoke to the front desk and they have told me I need to call back and speak to the manger in which I will. Three days later I was able to get in touch with the manger and tell him the situation. Of course, he denies his hotel is infested and of course claimed I brought them in and it was my house that has the bed bugs. He claimed I got them in the airport or from my brand new rental car or even my job. I took offense to this and explained I plan legal action. The manger seamed to think I was trying to get a free stay when in reality I never asked to be compensated with monetary value only the problem be fixed so others don't suffer like I have. Now, I will be seeking monetary value for my stay. I have taken numerous pictures of my body as evidence of my troubles.  I have done nothing but panick over the last few days because after extensive research, I have found that bed bugs can travel and can possibly now be spread in my home.  My wife is panicked and inspects her arms and body daily for any sign of bites.  To make things worse, our niece has been staying with us and has napped in our bed so now she may have been exposed to these things.  This is a vicious cycle and feel this needs to be addressed and fixed.  I will be making a call and getting them to make this right!!  If this is spread to my beautiful new home and to my family members, legal action may be taken and this place needs to be shut down....  The maids dress unprofessional and I was often being interrupted with something broken in the hotel.  Not to mention, the weekend I was there, a pipe burst and water had to be shutoff for numerous hours with no compensation or discount on the room. The towels were in such bad shape with stains that I made a trip to the local store to purchase a towel and toiletries. The toilet seat was broken and was stained all over.  I was often awoken or stirred up from screaming kids and families that looked to me like they made the hotel their permanent home.  Rocks were being kicked by kids and 1 was even kicked off my window which scared the crud out of me. I went outside to address the problem and once I saw the parents of the kids, it was better off I keep myself out of trouble.  I am very unhappy as you can tell and after reading the reviews very mad at myself for not doing my research..... I would rather sleep outside next time!!!!!!

We thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. Unfortunately Bed bugs are an epidemic that is effecting the US. This is not jsut limited to hotel, but effects theatres, dept stores, and even people personal homes. Bed bugs are carried from place to place on people clothing or person items. As soon as we are made aware of the situtation we call out a professional company to take care of the issue and treat the room. The rooms have since been treated by a professional a company to address the situation.

Outback Steakhouse right next door. Burger King across the highway. Lots of other places a short (depending on traffic) drive away.
