Great location, not very crowded, beautiful beach. - We stayed in #1202. The condo was stocked well with “almost” all that we needed. We needed a meat thermometer while cooking…but this was the only thing missing in the kitchen. Had to also purchase more paper goods, plus hand soap. Also not a big deal. The beds were comfy. The space was plenty for our family of 4. I do wish it came with some storage for beach gear but we made do. This condo comes with a reserved parking spot in the garage. Be mindful of the space though, as it’s rather tight. Our Highlander fit well but a larger truck or suv would be too large in my opinion. The beach comes with an umbrella/chair service for a fee of $40/day but we chose not to use it. They set up too far back on the beach and allow others to set up close to the shoreline in front. We traveled with our chairs and umbrellas and decided to use these. There are several good restaurants nearby (within 20-30 minutes or closer) with a variety of seafood options, plus burgers and pizza. The water is beautiful and clear. Lots of ocean life to be observed, plus a natural area within walking distance for “shelling”. Perdido Key is one of the best places we’ve visited on the Florida panhandle. We will be back.

Room Tip: Avoid “the shrimp basket” nearby. Waste of your money. No flavor, terrible drinks. Definitely...

Highly recommend the condos at Windmere. We stayed in condo 1002 and it was perfect! View is AMAZING. It was super clean, kitchen was perfectly stocked AND they even had beach toys and chairs we were able to use. My kids loved the snack bowl that was on the table when we arrived.

We stayed in #404 ... absolutely perfect for us. The condo was very clean with a great view. Once we were settled we never left so we cannot comment on any of the surrounding area. The beach was very quiet during our visit, and shell collecting was great! We would absolutely stay here again when in the area.

The condo units are wonderful ams beach is beautiful. But the building fire alarm went off TWICE during our stay. The entire building had to be evacuated!!! 1:00 am and 7:00 am. Not fun with two small children!! The fire department came quickly to reset the alarm. I would rethink staying in this building for that reason only. We’ve never experienced this in 40 plus years in the area.

Great location. Our room seemed really clean and nicely furnished. The balcony and view was outstanding. The rate was excellent for us. There are restaurants near by. The condo was supposed to be smoke free but we could smell cigarettes at times when we were on the balcony.

Stayed in Windmere 601. Nice decor, well out fitted, great location, wonderful view, but cockroaches ruled the night. The floors could use s good scrubbing as well. Would high reccomend if they get rid of the nightly visitors and clean the floors.

The condominium complex is undergoing renovation, and is basically a huge construction site. We were not informed of this situation prior to our arrival, so it was a complete shock to us. The pool was closed. The noise of the jackhammers, excavators, and other equipment was deafening. Construction workers in buckets climbed onto our balcony to work while we were sitting there. The noise was so bad that you couldn't hear the TV when you were inside. No one should rent condos while this stuff is going on. I understand the work will continue through late June, 2014.

We stayed in Unit 1401, a three-bedroom unit. We arrived at the unit late at night. In the morning, we opened the curtains of the large window in the master bedroom, expecting to see the Gulf. Instead, we looked at the inside of a closed storm shutter. (Note that the layout of this unit is such that the master bedroom is the only bedroom with a Gulf view.) We called the rental office and, after some delay, were advised that the storm shutter was broken and that the part needed to fix it wouldn't arrive for another week (which meant after our stay was over). The staff apologized -- though no one could explain why we weren't advised of the issue before we arrived or when we checked in -- but they couldn't do anything about it.
We were given no discount in the rate and no option to change units. Finally, after going to the rental office in person to plead our case, we were given a complimentary late check-out on our final day, but that was the extent of our dispensation.
The internet router in the unit also didn't work. The sliding door to get out on the balcony was gunked up and barely opened and shut. The paint on some of the inside walls was badly chipped. And one of the beds had sand in the sheets when we arrived.
Remarkably unimpressive.

Just leaving beautiful Perdido Key where we spent 8 wonderful days with our 3 small children! We stayed in unit 504. It was a very pleasant stay that we enjoyed so much that we ended up extending for an additional night! Our only complaints would be the parking issue, our unit did not include a designated parking spot and the open lot filled quickly. Crossing the busy roadway to the overflow lot across the street is not very safe with little ones! The other issue would be the beds....horrible!! Be advised that if you are not accustomed to sleeping on concrete, bring a eggshell mattress with you!!!

I'm giving these condos a very good rating because our overall experience was great. However, I'll start with the one negative aspect. First of all, this property is managed by several different companies. We went through Tern Key Rental which is right down the street from the condos. We were not informed that our condo did not have a designated parking space, and that parking space is extremely limited, and I do mean extremely. There is a parking garage, but almost every single space in the garage is designated parking. There are only about four spots in the parking garage that aren't designated for a particular unit. The rest of the open parking spaces were not covered spaces and there were maybe twenty spots available and are first come, first serve! We were fortunate to find a place to park when we first arrived, but we hated to ever leave because we'd lose our parking space. That is unacceptable! So, make sure you check with the management company about parking for your particular unit. It is definitely a nightmare to find a place to park for the units like ours who don't have a designated spot. Now, for the positives. The view of the Gulf from our condo was absolutely breathtaking. Windemere has its own private beach which was one of the main reasons we stayed here. No loading up the car and driving to one of the public beaches. The unit itself was nicely maintained. We had a one bedroom unit that slept six: a queen size bed in the bedroom, a queen size sofa bed, and two twin bunk beds in the hallway. There was one full bath and one half bath. The kitchen was lacking a bit in the pots and pans area (had to cook spaghetti in two small sauce pans), but otherwise we had everything we needed. If you rent through Tern Key, please be aware that they provide ONE roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, ONE roll of paper towels in the kitchen, ONE trash bag in each trash can...you get the drift. Bring extras of these things if you're staying longer than a few days. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would rent here again if it was a unit with a designated parking space.
